My worst movies of 2020: 1. After We Collided (definitely agree with you mate. As a fan of film and the romance genre and as someone who also wants to act and make movie himself as well, this franchise offends me so badly. You want to know the worst of it? This movie is now under fire from viewers on Netflix and Amazon for glorifying toxic and abusive relationships and I'm glad they're pissed off about this because it's a wake up call to say movies like this needs to stop NOW!! This could've been good if you had something to say about the toxic relationships instead of glorifying them. When the main defenses I hear from people are: "I love the After films because they're displaying abusive relationships." or "Read the books, you'll get a better understanding", then the people who defends the films really disappoint me in regards to criticism because a screenwriter or screenwriters job is to adapt a book and to give audiences an understanding on what a book told in it's own light as an adaptation (film or TV). You shouldn't have to read a book to understood a film's story, it's narrative, tone or it's characters in a deep fashion. So if you don't give your audiences an understood without forcing them to read a book then your movie has a problem because giving audiences the ability to understand a film's story without relying on source material that's your big job that has to be done right and the movie failed. You have failed this city, Anna Todd and the After movies. Do NOT watch After We Collided. Don't even consider it. Stop glorifying toxic and abuse relationships in our romance movies, please!!!) 2.
