when I go to my dentist for my twice a year cleanings I get a bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss, I save all those to add to my preps

I do that every time my grandkids go to the dentist. We have a bunch of them stocked up. Baby wipes are awesome for so many things. You can never have too much TP, lol. The Dollar Tree and other $ stores are awesome for hygiene and first aide stuff. If you save your tp rolls and dryer lint, you can stuff them and use them for a fire starter. They light easily and quickly. Awesome list. I have actually found some other items that are kind of unusual to put in my stock piles.

I save the toothpaste and floss for my travel bag, but I do switch out my toothbrush every 6 months. I buy the big containers of floss and big tubes of toothpaste for home

Great list! We do need more zip ties, contractor bags and duct tape. My husband keeps using them up without telling me, so it’s time to make my own stash and not tell him! If we need them, he’ll thank me!❤️🇺🇸

Feminine hygiene products are sterile so they can be used for wound care. Floss makes great thread for heavy repairs.

The waxed floss is also great for stitching waterproof items as well, the coating helps it last a long time.

The only thing that I am not loaded up on with on your list are zip ties, but I have them. I could not agree more about preparing for an unknown future that we fear might be hard. Years ago I sent an assortment of 'kotexes' home with my son because he had shared custody of his girls and I wanted him to have them on hand for the inevitable, in case it happened one night when they didn't see it coming.I have laid in panty liners that I use,( for slight incontinence) and some heavier ones for myself or if anyone else needs pads. I'm always thinking and if it weren't for sales, mark-downs, clearances and inexpensive shops, I would not have anywhere near the supplies that I have. Good job.

For those that use heating oil…..prepay if possible …..you can usually lock in a much lower price this time of year.

I use lp gas and natural gas for heating and I tried to pre-pay this year and for the first time ever was told they don't allow that anymore. I then asked for a bigger tank for the lp (so I could just fill it instead) and was refused that as well. According to the company "my useage doesn't warrant a bigger tank." I explained that while I have a natural gas furnace, I still have my wall units for backup heating and they use the lp gas (as well as my stove and water heater) I told them their policy is ridiculous-if someone has the money set aside to purchase the gas they should be allowed to! It's a sale and helps their business. I could understand not wanting me to prepay because they'd have to store it but giving me a bigger tank means I'd store it! Stupid! So don't count on that...I'd start calling and asking even if you don't have the money right now, at least you know if they'll allow it...and then buy it ASAP!

Thanks, Jinne! Men, carry feminine hygiene pads, the heavy-duty ones, and gauze in your first aid kits. They are great to put on bleeding wounds.

Great ideas! Another suggestion for adding to your oral hygiene supplies, brace wax. Even if no one has braces, it's very helpful if you get a broken tooth that is sharp, and is cutting your cheek...the brace wax can be used on the sharp points until you can get treatment.👍💪🇺🇸🙏

Well, you are Right. Get what you can and put it away. Even if you can only get $5 - 10 amonth of items. Everything Counts. See what you have and don't have. Get some of what you don't have first. It is hard to do. I know. Single SS income can be hard. But in small increments will work. Bless you and Good Luck

You can use paracord, if you have any, as shoelaces! Just cut to size.

Paracord is a great shoelace! on my shoes that I work on the farm in and I've even done it in tennis shoes before putting on the type of tennis shoe it is. you never know when you're out and about what might happen, and if you have your whatever kind of water you use if you use a con with an orc, you know that you carry in your purse and of course your your knife and your nice protection that you wear on you and all of that you get that para cord you can start a fire you got that knife you can skin something that you might need to Eaton you can cook it, so yeah I like para cord in my work shoes that I use on the farm and even a boat dock shoes, cause it looks like Paracord not to swap it out for Paracord

Air conditioner/Heater filters. Have heard they may become hard to find. Try to have regular and smoke grade filters. Duct tape, great suggestion. We use it to cover dryer and stove vents when smoke is bad. Keep in RV if evacuations ordered. Thank you for a very helpful list.

Since I have done all the buying, I still need the feminine products. I might have to suck it up and do my duty for the ladies. I bet a lot less expensive than some of the trauma items I have for gunshot IFAK. If we don't use them someone will offer gold in barter. If you can, lace boots with paracord.

Hi Jinne, tomorrow it's supposed to be near 100 degrees here in Wisconsin. When this heat breaks, I'm going to make the hour long trek to Costco for just a little bit more for the pantry. Because of the heat, I will be going through withdrawal from not canning.

A goodd alternative to choclate candy bars is Tootie Rolls Chocolate taste a d withstands the heat. We were taught that when packing care packages for the troops.

I love your lists. I have everything except the contractor bags.....I'm going to get them this week if I make it to town. I keep a good stock of the 39-gallon trash bags, but heavier bags would be better.

My husband & i travel abit so i always pick up the small soap bars from all our motel rooms & have for over 10 yrs so i've got a big supply of small soap, have filled a travel tote.

Unfortunatley so true went into Sams and got 2 things only noticed people putting things back. One man was on phone telling wife that school lunch individual snacks were doubled and what if he got a big container and put some in zip lock baggies phew hold onto our pockets

Another idea is menstrual cups along with the tampons. They are reusable and tampons will eventually run out. I have daughters and granddaughters and have one stocked up for each one. The younger ones might initially be a bit squeamish about having to clean and reuse but I think it'd be better for them in the long run. Also have liners and pads for myself thanks to someone mentioning incontinence. I hadn't thought of that...

Not really a specific brand, just a good solid leather boot.. They are a bit pricey, but in the long run cheaper because they last so long.

I didn't blame anyone, but I will blame the government. They're the leading cause of inflation in the U S. My claim is the current administration keeps claiming inflation is coming down, which is a flat out lie.
