I knew you would include the idiot who joked one of his baby mamas was Her Honor’s daughter. That wisecrack was bad enough, but then he stepped up his idiocy by saying “This may be YOUR show, but this is MY episode.” I was pretty surprised she didn’t eviscerate him as he so richly deserved.

As a kid, I hated Judge Judy because I didn’t think she was being polite with people. As an adult, I LOVE HER because she’s putting idiots in their place. If you ask me, there’s a lot of people who could use some of her savagery for their own good.

Supposedly, that’s what the auction was for, just photos of the phone, not the phones themselves..., according to the defendant. If it was listed in the auction as just being photos, it was probably in really small print...

The scammer would have won IF the weight of the paper had been the correct weight. The scammer said the cost was for two PICTURES of the phones, which the plaintiff received. But the weight she listed was for the actual phones, so she lost. I hope she and her scamming husband lost the accounts they use to scam!

How can Rigor Mortis Stew not be #1??? Eve and Carol Dettenheimm (sp?) are legendary!! The young guy who was in a car accident and buckled a barrel of cheeseballs in his car instead of his friend drew the comment from Officer Byrd of "Safety first!" was also pretty strange but nothing beats the dead deer sisters!

So, here's one for this thread....my judge, at the time, told the defendant in an eviction lawsuit, prove it. I'm going to recess until this afternoon. Come into my Court and prove that this Plaintiff does not deserve your rent payment that you have withheld for the past 3 months....After the recess, the young lady came into the Court. She had her daughter in a little buggy cart and on top of the cart a large shopping bag where another bag inside of it, plastic, could be seen. The Court came to order....the defendant pulled out the plastic bag full of at least 7-10 really fat and long RATS and emptied the dead rats on table.....Wanna guess who kept their rent? Loved this video!!!

It started many decades ago, when someone advertised "solar-powered clothes dryers" for hundreds of dollars. Yup! He shipped them a clothes line. Nothing could be done, as there's was no false advertising, as I recall.

I lost a friend to a car accident. He was a young man, early 20’s, drinking and driving on a motorcycle. Hit my best friend’s mom’s friend on her way to work. She wanted to sue his family for emotional damage. She was in a van so she was unscathed. My bff’s mom knew I’d been close to him and talked her out of it. They’re Korean, and own hair shops in different towns. Oma let her know basically that 1) that was cruel and unChristian, regardless of circumstances, 2) it would hurt her on behalf of me, and 3) it wasn’t his family’s fault, and 4) their clientele, Black people, would most likely boycott the stores on behalf of the guy, since he was Black. I’m glad she didn’t sue, but am still horrified she even considered it.

#2 -- I'm curious, where there other Judy cases where the plaintiff got the full $5000 even though they weren't even seeking nearly that much? Like in this case, they were only seeking to be refunded for the two "phones", weren't they? But apparently Judy thought the scammer was so over the top and arrogant about the whole thing she awarded the max $5000 anyway. I really do want to know if there were other cases like that.

For the toilet episode? I can understand why the judge decided as she did. While, yes, the lady is quite large....The toilet was, more than likely, ALREADY weak in some way. Hence, the "additional" weight, at the time, did it in. So, the additional weight simply caused it to fall apart when it did. A "solid", "sound" toilet is "strong" enough to handle, even people to STAND UPON IT, let alone for a "heavy" person to simply sit upon it. Just ask them. The manufacturers of such products. Or, a well-informed plumber, for that matter. I'm quite sure that "pressure" or "weight" "tests" are performed on these products, as on many other products. SHAMEFUL....to try to have someone "pay", literally as well as emotionally, for something they aren't responsible for....😔

Because nine times out of ten she already knows what they're going to say, or they're about to interject their emotions as an excuse or a defense, thinking that the judge will be empathetic with their excuses. In recent cases, Judy has become even more hardball with this rule as she just only wants "the facts." Not what you were going to do, not what you thought about doing, not what he said, not what she said, not how you felt, not basically this, or basically that. Just get to the point. The more you make lame excuses the worse it makes you look and just convinces the judge that much more to rule against you.

I bet the average person can't appreciate how much consistent, ingenious energy it takes to filter out dishonesty, obfuscation, stupidity, omission and poor communication, just in the fair application of justice. How exhausting it is to behold. Watching some of these people, I wonder if the judge isn't routinely faced with various degrees of inbreeding, brain damage, perhaps varieties of evil oppression and so forth.

SO many worthy contenders left off this list. I thought the top spot would have gone to the guy who re-enacted the defendant’s drunken dancing. Or Dumb and Dumber who admitted they committed the purse snatching crime they were accused of by arguing with the plaintiff that her earpiece was not in her bag. Judge Judy could not contain her laughter at those fools. The woman who borrowed her sister’s car, but hit and killed a deer. Then cooked and ate it. Offering the plaintiff some of the venison stew she prepared to make up for damaging her car. The woman who had a friend pay for her breast augmentation because her boyfriend was supposed to pay, but he got incarcerated. Judge Judy told her to keep her daughter an only child to prevent further spreading her stupidity.

your second case is incorrect and Judge Judy did too. If children cause damage you are liable. The fact the child injured themsleves while damaging another's property does not mean their parents aren't liable. This could have been overturned from arbitration for negligence on the judge's behalf.

Now I stumbled upon this on the main page for Judge Judy on TV Tropes, where next to the trope Creepy Monotone, where its mentioned that the plaintiff's husband/witness sat with a very blank stare, then halfway through the episode when the defendant says thier side of the case, the plaintiff's husband/witness says, "you lied about it" in a very sinister sounding monotone. I don't suppose anyone has any KZfaq videos of that case?

The guy laughing could possibly have a condition where his nervous reaction is to laugh and smile. I know several people who are like this. Doesn’t mean they don’t understand the seriousness of the situation. It’s just their natural reaction.

I think the problem with No. 15 - the woman who shouts obscenities at her neighbor because he doesn't tend things in his backyard the way she thinks he should, could easily be fixed. Instead of wasting court costs, they could get married (aw, you can see their attraction!) and cool their raging hormones. He could mow their lawn, keep up the place, and she could be chief fundraiser for a local cause. (Can you imagine saying, "No, sorry, not interested," to her?) They'd be great together, and i guarantee you, they'd be the type of grandparents kids of ANY age would love to spend time with. Only lose the obscenities, Grams!

If you're referring to that first one (#20) that was not just a nervous laugh....I think he was high! He also said she talked too fast (only too fast for someone that's high!)
