For this list, we’ll be looking at the most impressive martial artists we’ve seen in Cobra Kai’s first four seasons. As much as we loved Mr. Miyagi, we’ll only focus on characters who appear outside of flashbacks. And since we’ll be talking about where all the fighters stack up to each other by the season 4 finale, beware of major spoilers ahead. Shawn Payne deserved more respect, aint no way he’s losing to Piper, Kyler, Dimitri, Tori, or that new girl from Kobra Kai, he won against Robby every time and the only time Robby came close was a stalemate.

Chozen kept training his whole life, im absolutely sure he's the strongest fighter right now. Season 5 edit: Welp confirmed. Even if Terry sucker slashed him at the end, Chozen won the fight while drunk, pure badass!

You have to give an update on this, miguel at the moment is much stronger than eli, in his battles in season 5 he hardly gets hit by anyone, while eli and keene lost/got hit hard some battles. And Johnny managed to beat at least 5 of the best senseis of cobra kai under the command of silver, besides that larusso won against terry and obliterated him.

We all want to see Chozen Vs Silver in Season 5. A fighter who never stopped fighting could be what it takes to bring down a psycho like Silver.

Plus even though Silver stopped training Cobra Kai ever since The Karate Kid Part lll, he is still tough and strong, this proves that he is a true Cobra, and which is why Daniel warned Johnny to not strike first with TERRY SILVER.

I disagree Sam versus Tori is way better. But I'm also a big fan of Tori so. I might be biased and at the end of the day the fight between them two caused all this more so than Johnny and Daniel's rivalry.

Chozen is all grown up and let me tell you, he kicks a whole lotta ass. Having continued his training under Mr. Sato and been given access to all the teachings of Okinawan karate, he is now a master of them all, and probably the only character we’ve seen so far who could possibly match the late and great Mr. Miyagi himself. His sparring match with Daniel clearly shows he is head and shoulders above Mr. Miyagi’s favourite student now.

Chozen is a good fighter but that you do him on the same steps with Sensei Miyagi, well, you dream a lot at the moment. Miyagi is legendary, then no one comes along no Chozen or LaRusso and certainly not such a Wannabe Superfighter as Silver.

@@kbanghart true but I suspect Chozen held back, most likely to see how far Daniel had come. No point squashing him. You learn nothing that way. Also he was clearly building up for that finish in the fight.

@@allenchu3969 this is a much debated topic on the Internet. I myself am on the side of Miyagi being the best period. However other debate that where Miyagi left Okinawa at a young age, Sato likely still trained under Miyagi's father and could have actually been the stronger of the 2 fighters. Its a shame we never saw this showdown if nothing else just to simply answer that question, but yes I agree, Miyagi was the better fighter as far as I am concerned. The fact he could break that log answered it as far as I'm concerned but certainly food for thought

Terry is better. He is a Vietnam veteran who has killed people, on top of his military training he was personally trained by Kreese. I see Daniel, Chozen, and Johnny as 3 equals who need to come together to create a style that beats Terry because Terry is that good

@@king_vision4085 Na no way. Chozen is easily the strongest of them all, simply because unlike the others, he never stopped studying karate. Terry did nothing related to Karate for over 30 years. No way in hell he can beat Chozen. That being said, the strongest fighter doesnt mean the strongest students immediately. I assume season 5 will have a lot of new Cobra Kai students with them opening a lot of franchises while the other dojos are gonna basically keep being really small and maybe even lose students. It will be somewhat of a David v. Goliath type fight.

@@smokeychickenwings1038 Characters like Kenny and Piper haven't trained as long as Chris and Penis Breathe and still placed higher in the All Valley. Proving that training longer doesn't automatically make you better. Terry has Vietnam training which teaches you how to kill with your bare hands on top of Kreese as a personal teacher. That makes him far more deadly than Chozens karate. Thats why Daniel and Chozen are teaming up to take down Terry. Because Terry is better than them.both individually.

I feel like Miguel is for sure the best teenager fighter in he show. I see why they put Hawk above him, because he’s still recovering, but if you compare them both in their prime, Miguel is clearly the best.

I don't understand the hate against Terry Silver. He's such a good villain, I must say. The way he orchestrates his devious, diabolical plan by messing with either his allies' or foes' head is just something else. He's so menacing and I love how he looks intimidated by Kreese at first but ended up backstabbing him at the end of season 4. Edit: Probably they hate him as a character, but as an actor, he's so amazing!

People just love to hate him. Personally, I love watching him go he's just so entertaining. At the end of season 4 when he got kreese arrested I noticed that he wasn't drinking his wine and I thought holy shit did he just poison him, but no it didn't get that insane. But it definitely seems like something he'd do. Just insane, rich, war vet.

Chozen is easily the strongest fighter in Cobra Kai. I can't wait to see him face off with Silver in Season 5. A perfectly balanced Miyagi-do fighter vs. A fighter that's a bigger psycho than Kreese.

But this is the top 20 strongest. Terry has so many other advantages outside the matt, he could trick Chozen, use his money, his Genius mind, really anything. Chozen is a more skilled fighter but his overall power is not as strong as Silvers power in the series

Terry Silver has come full circle and finally become the “Anti-Miyagi”. They’re both elder masters of Karate. War Veterans who’ve found renewed purpose in life by becoming teachers and passing on their experience. And they are both excellent at it but from opposite sides of the spectrum…. Miyagi is very Short at 5’3, Soft spoken, Stoic, Caring, Hates Fighting, Culturally represents the best of Eastern values, prefers to teach individual students and lives a Modest lifestyle as a Maintenance Attendant. Silver is very Tall at 6’5, Extroverted, Charismatic, Manipulative, Loves Fighting, Culturally represents the worst of Western values, wants to build a franchise with many students to teach and lives a Lavish lifestyle as an Entrepreneur. It’s literally perfect!!!!

Get get what you are saying, but IMO it was much better when they were displaying pqradigmas of Daniel and Johnny. one accomplished borehole with seemingly perfect life and no gut and the other one A wreck with messed up life, but however, much more honest and likeable.

By the time silver was like this. Miyagi died, Chozen was not nearly as strong as miyagi in KK2. But Chozen trained ever since Daniel beat him. So now I think Chozen is like miyagi but a little bit more aggressive

I'm actually amazed by Shawn Payne's fighting skills and overall strength, he doesn't know any martial arts, and yet he held his own against Robby. It's just street fighting and his raw strength.

I think terry would have still won. This rating makes sense considering it now. But analyzing the trilogy, I think they should put chozen, larusso, terry, miyagi (maybe mr miyagi was not included because it simply wasn’t necessary lol)

But not fully, you will be having a headache, dizziness and/or nausea to feeling confused or out of it. Also Silver fought dirty, twice. 1) Silver kicked him to the temple by surprise. 2) Silver hit him to the throat. I'll admit, Johnny did also surprise attack him, but really Silver kinda asked for it when looking away. Which is legit one of the rules you shouldn't do in a fight. Always look at the opponent. But okay, if my argument is poor. Then yeah alright. Silver is the better fighter. Even though to the very least I can say that Johnny can hold his own.

We saw Terry Silver fight once and Chozen fight once. Terry Silver vs Robby Keene doesn't mean anything. Terry Silver retired from Karate, which was obvious when he kicked a bottle as if it had been so long since he did that. Chozen practices Karate for a living. He also didn't blind side Daniel and kick him in the head.

Chozen is stronger than Terry Silver. he's a lifelong master at Miyagi-Do, meaning he's far more centered and balanced in both his mind and soul. Terry, who is incredibly tough and a master of Cobra Kai, has issues regarding PTSD among others. He's not as balanced in his mind, or soul. In fact, he's seemingly reverted back to his former self. Chozen can beat him... maybe not easily, but he can put him down handedly, and even convincingly.

We agree that they are real and complex. There isn't a traditional “bad guy” or “good guy.” Every character (and each dojo) has flaws, as well as strengths. Cobra Kai, while a drama, also doesn't take itself too seriously, so the vibe is lighter and even comedic at times. This brings a wonderful balance to the show.🥰🥰🥰✌✌✌

Season 5 is definetly going to have a lot of scenes in which Miguel fights random people in the real world after he gets bullied on the search of finding his dad. Just for a couple of episodes I think until Johnny finds him. And after that because Miguel would’ve had so much experience fighting in the real world and because it would have been even longer from that injury that took place he will crush Robby. Possibly even team up with Hawk as Hawk may want to try to get revenge on him in the real world since he already did in the tournament.

I also agree with many here that Chozen should be the top guy here than Terry... Silver may have the scare factor, but Chozen-san, to say that his skills is terrifying is an understatement... put a calm and collected man with a centuries-old martial arts style complete with techniques “designed to KILL their enemies” (as quoted from CK3), against a closet psychotic with a mostly offensive style way of the fist... it’s fair to say that the latter is just asking for a death sentence... but anyway, that’s for the next season... there’s no denying, however, that Thomas Ian Griffith’s portrayal of his character is not only a stroke of genius, but it’s inspired even... it’s like the guy hasn’t even stopped practicing being an actor, despite not doing any acting jobs for a very long time (he spent it as a writer for multiple well-received shows)

@@sana3843 our only basis with what Mike Barnes can do is from KK3, and and basing from that, I think Chozen will still decimate him... Mr. Miyagi (may he rest in peace) himself ended up throwing him to the door... now if Barnes kept on improving post KK3, then he may be able to put up at least a decent fight... but that’s for the next season to show and tell... P.S. another factor that may come into play is that Cobra Kai practitioners (Kreese, Silver, Barnes, etc.) don’t even have a clue of the offensive (and lethal) side of Miyagi-Do (save maybe for Kreese who ended up on the receiving end of just one of the techniques in CK3)... Kreese himself said that Miyagi-do is “reactive”, and that it’s “easy to set traps” due to the defensive style that they already have seen from Miyagi-Do practitioners, but once they start to be on the receiving end of the secret techniques, they would be shocked, to say the least... as Daniel-san himself once said during their sparring match with Chozen-san “WHAT THE HELL!?” and quoting Chozen-san himself (from CK3) ...defense takes on many forms...

You should have mention Robby literally single handedly defeated the entire cobra kai dojo using an incredible balance between the defensive techniques he learned in Miagi doe as well as the offensive techniques he learned at cobra kai… and has a knack of knowing how to analyze fighting styles to set traps… he is easily the best fighter there knowing this balance, because one dojo focused on offense only, the other focused on defense only, and the fact he uses both to the extreme and knows when to use each makes him almost impenetrable

I agree with most of the list. Especially with Silver being number 1. With the exception of Hawk being above Miguel, Miguel is absolutely the better, stronger fighter, as we see him wipe the floor with Hawk in season 2, when Miguel takes back the Medal of Honor from Hawk.

Tbh, I'd say Johnny slightly beats Daniel now due to the fact that Daniel will only fight in self defence which is obviously puts him at a disadvantage. Daniel is also physically smaller than Johnny as well. Obviously a very close match up in any circumstance though which would be argued both aways.

@@BattleBondGamer Just because 2 people draw once, it doesn't mean they're equal in strength. There were more factors at play than just physical strength. Also even if you fight someone of equal strength to you in any combat sport, it is more likely someone will win than that it will be a draw.

Pretty much the same as mine however still at this point I’m putting silver at 1 only because he has proved he’s still a beast fighter this season. We have only seen chozen spar Daniel so far. Also terry in karate kid 3 was still far better than chozen. I know time has passed but hopefully we will see them fight in season 5

It’s too hard to put chozen at 1 yet until we see him fight. He’s only sparred Daniel. While the first shot was indeed a cheap shot, Johnny retaliated the same way and then it became even. He was then dropped a second time. Then they came in again and was dropped a 3rd time. Terry is clearly a far superior fighter to Johnny and Daniel. They will be setting up for chozen to take on terry in season 5 I think

@@nissy9220 Yeah and during "sparring" he was treating Daniel like a child, if I recall Chozen actually attack Daniel to piss him off and make him fight back, then Chozen kept beating his ass for like an entire day straight, stabbed a sai next to his head, mastered that secret Miyagi-Do technique Daniel to my knowledge got Chozen down ONCE, one time. As opposed to Chozen not remotely breaking a sweat when he was beating Daniel. Plus we don't really know how Chozen would perform as an adult against Miyagi, he continued to train for his entire life, I'd like to believe he'd give Miyagi slight trouble. I think Miyagi's thing is, he was taught by his father, a bonafide master who was probably much better then even he was, and on top of that ALL he did was train to my knowledge, eat, slept, trained, his whole existence revolved around Martial Arts (and taking care of his students.)

I think the Miguel and Chozen should have the top spots for the best younger characters and the older fighters. Demetri even said before the Eli and Miguel match that nobody has beating Miguel in a match yet. Even though he lost to Eli via DQ until he loses a match clean I still think he should be the top fighter out of the younger characters. And Chozen on top being the number one overall fighter i think is a no brainer

tbh miguel is worse than eli and robby and probably won't be close to them again. the only thing he had going for him was training longer than anyone else and with that injury that goes out the window along with his physical abilities. he's probably going to have his own path in the show besides fighting and maybe just be a major friend and motivator for eli and everyone else.

In the fight against Hawk they're evenly matched, and the Tornado kick was his ace move, and he chose to do it against Hawk. If he was better, he would leave the move for the final fight. I would personally put Eli/Hawk slightly below Miguel and Robbie. Don't get me wrong, he is great. At the same time, he only lost to Robbie because Robbie hesitated when he saw Kenny.

He lost his focus and lost. Tournaments are always full of distractions, athletes perform under pressure, difficult circumstances, physical pain… and being mentally prepared is just as important as physical aspect. Robby also had bad advice from his coaches. “Use your anger” works on inexperienced fighters, it gives you adrenaline and motivation but it leaves you open and you loose control. He would probably win if Daniel was advising him. Upsets come in sports all the time. But I agree that Robby and Miguel were favorites to win. I was supposed at how much Eli improved. Eli was stronger on that day because he was in better shape physically and mentally and he could fight smart. I must say, his technical skills also improved a lot. They are top three fighters among boys at the moment and there is no way of knowing who will win any specific fight. It’s circumstantial. Through out last fights at the tournament I always felt like it could go either way.

Miguel is hands down the best of the young fighters. The guy has beaten Robbie and Hawk multiple times. And has never actually lost when he wasn't blind sided after showing mercy. So far the show has shown 0 reason to have any of the young fighters ahead of Miguel.

I love Hawk, but I feel like Miguel & Robby are more powerful. True Hawk might've beaten Robby in the All-Valley but had Robby followed what Terry Silver said, Robby would've won and Hawk would've been very injured and even if he did beat Miguel ,It was because Miguel decided to try to do that kick and ended up injured so he can't continue. Moreover, Miguel has been training karate longer than Hawk.

Not to mention Robby is the perfect hybrid of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. The guy literally started teaching Miyagi-Do and trained with John AND silver's cobra kai (and didn't get brainwashed by them). Robby is definitely the strongest young fighter since Miguel still didn't master his miyagi-do yet.

Miguel has never lost a fight and has beaten both Hawk and Robbie multiple times. Hawk wasn't even a match against Miguel before his back cramped. Until anyone actually beats Miguel, you can't have any of the teen fighters ahead of him.

He beat Robbie in the last all valley cause he was targeting Robby’s injury. And it’s not really fair to say that he’s still the best because regardless of his record, right now he would lose due to his back injury. Both Robby and Hawk are better than him at this point in time.

I love Terry’s character, but Chozen is definitely above Terry, Terry hasn’t even been training all those years, the way his girlfriend asked what cobra Kai was, and that she forgot he mentioned he was a karate trainer plus his friend being surprised he had a “karate phase” suggested he either stopped training, or he trains in private. Chozen has Miyagi’s Wisdom, combined with very aggressive offensive style with Miyagi Do’s defense if needed, plus he can paralyze his opponent at will, he’s legitimately a hybrid of all the dojo’s with some extra flair to it. Unfortunately the writers are going to have to Nerf his character a bit to make it fair for his opponents..and interesting for the show.

I think that terry kept training all these years and that he's actually in shape. He had his rubber band in his bathroom cupboard all the time. That's why I think he tricked all of others into thinking he's not a threat

Hawk vs Robby in season 4 was the best martial arts fight I've seen for ages! It was such a shock that Hawk won as well, I was so glad. Then when Chozen turned up again in the finale to help Daniel with season 5 I was so hyped!

I think Johnny is stronger than Daniel and a good example of this was when Johnny found a way to counter Daniel after he used the pressure point technique.

They are pretty interchangable to me, I see them both as very close, if not equal, and the show does a decent job of portraying that. Him countering the pressure point move was great though.

In season 4 i think it is clear that Johnny and Daniel are in the same tier now that we have sympathy for both and Johnny stopped being Cobra Kai and created his own style. I also feel like robby is stronger than hawk but only held back because of Kenny

In my opinion, Miguel and Eli are on equal terms as of Season 4. Miguel could have possibly finished his last match with Eli if he hadn't pulled a muscle during their fight, but Eli was perfectly capable of keeping up with Miguel. Eli only has a slight advantage over Miguel because of Miguel's injury and because of his constant training while Miguel was paralyzed. That's just an opinion though.

Eli should have lost to Robby and would have had Robby not hesitated due to an identity crisis. The three, RObby, Miguel and Eli are all fairly evenly matched

Robby and Miguel are definitely the best young student fighters on the show, even with Eli winning Robby said specifically in the beginning he didn’t care about silverware and I think Kenny and LaRusso had a big influence on him not winning.
