Hey so I'm a medic in the army and I have another hack you might like: use cord lock stoppers, like the ones on army pt short's draw string not sure if the navy has them or not, on your boot laces it's a quick way to put your boots on if you have to meet time hacks. Another thing is you're actually causing the blister to heal slower if you completely cover them cut out the inside, same size as the blister, of a thicker, multiple layer mole skin, or 100mph tape that is higher than the blister. It's really personal preference and how much time you have, but one thing is for sure your feet are one of the things that can make or break some of the strongest people. Remember change your socks and drink water! 😉

1: lighter, to burn lose wires instead of pulling it. 2: combat toss, skip some of the holes on your shoes with laces for better breathing and more comfort 3: duct tape on your feet against blisters 4: nots at the end of shoelaces, you can pull without looking. (Like so others dont have to look :P)

The "Combat quick tie" is the one I use a lot. It is where you pull your laces tight and wrap it around your boot in one direction, fishing them through the far side of the lace and pulling them the opposite way and tucking them into the boot. This is super useful if you're having to take your boots off a lot to change your socks, ect. I was taught it in BCT at Fort Sill, Ok; and I have used it out in the field. I hear you on them steel toes, I'm a 91 series in the Army, they suck no matter which branch your in brother. Idk what the Naval equivalent of AR 670-1 (Army regulation: Wear and Appearance) but the Rocky SV2 steel toe boots are comfortable. I have not seen anyone in the Navy wear different footwear other than issue, so I doubt it would apply. Love ya squid. 😂 And I use the same hacks, just wanted to through that one in there if it can apply to your regs.

For the lighter trick, if you don't want to burn your clothes (they're not as resilient to fire as a military uniform) pinch the flame out and press it so that the thread that's melted flattens. It will save your clothes and make the thread sturdy and secure. It doesn't actually burn your finger. Just quickly pinch it and you wouldn't feel it.
