ETFs have become one of the most popular ways for passive investors to compound their wealth in the stock market, and for good reason! Historically, investing in Index Funds/ETFs has been one of the best ways to compound your cash. In this video, I share 5 common categories of ETFs, with a few examples for each group that are all based in Australia and listed on the ASX. As always, any specific ETF or Index Fund mentioned in this video are just examples, and not buy or sell recommendations.

I really don’t understand the title on this video as I didn’t hear anything about the 5 best growth ETFs? Or did I miss it?

What's your thoughts on these ethical ETF's like VETH? I would really prefer something like that over, say, VAS but I don't want to short change myself long term. I'm brand new to investing and your videos are super helpful, many thanks.

Also worth looking into AFI regarding an actively managed fund. Tell me what you think about the "dividend substitution program" they have and where you reckon it would be advantageous.

I haven't really looked at LICs that much, but AFI looks interesting. Solid results over long term, and the low fees are great considering its actively managed. I like the idea of DSSP. Seems slightly better than DRP. Definitely something dividend investors should look into! :)

@@investingiq 100% mate. Effectively getting a stock in place of a dividend where you don't pay tax unless you sell. Great for a passive set and forget investor and you turn off the program when you're ready to start receiving dividend income. Be aware that you'll get hit hard with capital gains if you use this then sell shares.

That's awesome! Australia has some good little rules in place for investors, especially dividend investors. Would you be able to offset it by waiting the 12months to get 50% CGT discount?

@@investingiq I would imagine this would be the case but you'll be paying cgt on the full price of the share as you never paid it on the dividend. Tends to benefit buy, tick the substitution box and hold long term until you want dividend income and then untick it. Selling even with the 50% cgt will be on the full price of the shares rather than the profit.

Hi Thanks for your info. I have just retired so are after income to live on. Can I ask if you think it’s better to stay just with Australian dividend ETFs or a mix of say Aussie and US. If you can now directly answer can you let me know where to look. Much appreciated. Anthony
