I understand why people would want to buy ETF‘s, but I don't like them. They charge fees/commissions and it's like playing the loser because you don't even try to beat the market at all (or you don't even know what the market is...). I rather like choosing stocks -businesses- for myself and trying to do as best as possible. I really enjoy it. Nice video, anyway, as always!

Passive Income Tom: Agreed. I stay away from EFTs and mutual funds. I strictly stay with dividend paying stocks. I'm working on aquiring 1000 shares of Gazprom by July 2020 and then another 1000 shares for 2021. The stock pays an annual dividend of $.5/share. That's $500 in 2020, then $1000 in 2021. The dividends will pay for my oil heat for the 2020 winter season an so on.

Angolz Tapz yeah are these safer than SPY or safer than just buying Amazon and Netflix I’d say so!
@johnz88434 жыл бұрын
During a recession or correction all these stock etfs will definitely lose money. In a rising interest rate environment the corporate bond etf will lose some money. You have to look at your time frame (how long you can keep the money invested so that you can ride through the correction or recession). History says eventually you'll come out ahead if you ride it out but thats not a guarantee either. Diversify and take no greater risk than your psyche can handle without panicking and selling at a steep loss.

Everyone is asking for a high dividend ETF list - you will be disappointed! I've investigated this and every single one has too much T, HSBC, F, XOM.....same old stocks in all of them. So you can only really buy one, diversifying them doesn't have much of a point. One I saw had lots of BCE, a stock with a 90% payout ratio. No thanks. Or they include Vod, which cut its dividend last year.....

do you have to pay taxes on dividends? I was watching this one KZfaq video and this guy was saying that's the only true way of how all the rich people don't pay taxes because they don't have to pay taxes on dividends. Is this true? Sounds like clickbait lie
@dancer14 жыл бұрын
True as long as you don’t make over 38k a year on dividends
@JohnDaniels4 жыл бұрын
@@dancer1 I see videos talking about how the rich pay NO taxes by investing but in reality it is not true at all.
@dancer14 жыл бұрын
John Daniels it is true if you invest in dividend stocks or etfs and don’t sell the etf or stock. The average yield is around 3-4% so you would need to have more than 900,000 yielding 4% to be taxed on the dividends
@JohnDaniels4 жыл бұрын
@@dancer1 thank you for the reply. But at some point they have to pay taxes on the money to take it out, you cann live on 38,000 a year and I would not consider that Rich. It sounds like the taxes are just deferred until you take the money out
@dancer14 жыл бұрын
John Daniels your not taxed unless you sell the shares which I don’t see why anybody who’d every do that. And your not taxed on the dividends when you take it out your taxed on the capital appreciation of the money you’ve earned on the stock from it moving up.
@russellruby12934 жыл бұрын
