I wish I could run into an agro deck. Suddenly all I'm seeing are control decks and they are the builds that devour this deck. UW walkers and UB Aclazotz decks. But, if you can find some agro matchups it is a LOT of fun and works great.

Yeah, matchmakes is something that often will decide your winrate, usually decks have one of the matchups simply stronger (control or aggro), so if you hit the wrong one, it gets harder. Especiallly if shuffler also cooperates, giving you a full hand of removal vs azorius control 🤷‍♂️ Can be rough :)

@@SlothMtg Part of it is that I'm grinding these "test" decks in platinum (largely spinning wheels so I can stay here), and aggro seems to have all but disappeared. The players that want to rank up have done so, leaving a lot of us in platinum that are trying different decks. Over the last 2 days of 29 matches I've only played about 6 aggro decks, with most decks having some controlling element or Angel ramp. I should probably switch to mono red to rank up and then try this again.

So sloth, I see your using Bandits Haul often. Do you think you prefer celestus or haul as a 3 mana option?

I really enjoyed Bandit's haul - however it lacks lifegain compared vs celestus. I think it depends how much lifegain your deck has (if more, then bandit's haul might be a better choice). I like them both and keep testing, but to be responsible, probably celestus is more versatile overall

I think without triome, we kinda lose one of ideas for this deck :) Absolutely you can make similar control, but mana won't be as clean as for boros (no triome)

how the heck does #6 mythic get matched against diamond players?

Because those diamond players have mmr as high as mine - and when they hit Mythic they will be at top spots. Simply put, matchmaker decided mythic players didn't have high enough mmr, so it starts checking diamond for those excellent players. I usually wait 2-3 minutes to get matched, and usually get the same pool of players, so that's how system works when you have really high mmr :) Last guy I played when he was 'in diamond', turned out to be number 1# Mythic on the next day, btw 🤷‍♂️🦥
