I'm just starting out in the hobby. My first purchase was the Realflight simulator. I bought the package that comes with a spectrum DXs transmitter and USB dongle. I plan on buying a Sportcub S2 as I will primarily be a park flyer but, I will move up in the future. Thanks for all of your great information. Fitz

Hi, I'm new to the hobby and have been flying a Sport Cub RTF from Horizon Hobby. About ready to get my next plane which I'd like to be the UMX Turbo Timber but it doesn't come RTF. The 6 channel Sektrum transmitters just seem to expensive to me for the type and amount of flying I plan on doing. I've been looking at the RadiioMaster TX8 which comes in at under $100.00 and is multi protocol. What do you think about the Jumper and RadioMaster transmitters? Thanks.

I've been using a simulator for about 6 weeks every day and I am confident that I'm ready to fly my first trainer. My question is about the lesser expensive transmitters. I want to be able to adjust rates and expo as well as mix channels if needed. Do all these transmitters capable of these adjustments? Thanks for your help.

I bought a new DX6 transmitter and reciever. Took me a while to get my head around programming but it is a very comprehensive transmitter. Can someone tell me the difference between it and the DX6e.

I’m quite new to RC, and after buying a trainer I want to move up to the Avios Spitfire Vb Question: In order to get a similar “safe switch” setup like some trainers have, that level you out when u get into trouble, will I need a special transmitter and receiver with a gyro stability type-thing in it? Can't go wrong with the Flysky i6x for a first transmitter it does all you need and more to start out with for little money and if you really like the sport then you can go with a more expensive transmitter

As a dad shopping for his avid rc plane addicted son who has been using planes with provided (assuming proprietary rx/tx), im very lost and confused on what i should be shopping for if id like to get him a b-day gift that would open his options of planes he could fly in the future.

What is the starter transmitter that has the ratching gimbals? Need that for sailboat. Any of these have that?

Why would you not want lipos in your transmitter??

900mhz is the right choice, 2.4GHz is too crowded, and depending on where you fly, there is a real chance of crashing your plane.. People post videos how one minute everthing is fine then the next moment the plane is doing weird stuff. It's happened to me as well.

I'm coming back to the hobby after many years and can't believe that these Chinese radios are offering the tech they are for the price - why are people still buying Futaba and Spektrum etc?

Cheaper Spectrum radios are good for foam planes where the signal is easily sent and received through the material in the plane but for reliability, I would definitely go with Futaba. As planes get more complicated your going to see more interference problems from wire nests in planes and My Futaba radios have not failed. Even when a signal is hammered by a nearby tower or too many flyers on the field it still get's the plane or helicopter back. Many guys at our field fly Spectrum and I've seen so many crashes when they continue to use it for more advanced planes. There are also many aftermarket receivers for Futaba and Spectrum if your on a budget I would put those into the cheaper planes and helis. One aftermarket 14channel receiver for Futaba for $30 is the Corona and next to the $200 14channel Futaba its a real bargain. I have only used it in Large Foam EDF jet's though. I wouldn't put it in my Turbine Jet which does have the $200 Futaba receiver. Whith my experience cheaper aftermarket stuff might be susceptible to Vibration from more complicated RC Models, Gassers, Turbines etc!!

You put a bit of effort into your video, that's great. You should go the extra mile and do something with your background. I know it really doesn't matter, but it sure would look a lot better. Something "brighter" looks like your in a dungeon or something.
