I’m loving Webflow so far! I’m a WordPress + Elementor user for years already and got curious with Webflow but I thought it’s intimidating to learn but I’m wrong. It’s actually super fun! I’m practicing and taking their 2021 design folio course atm. Planning to build more design soon! 😍

Webflow = no limits! I can create anything I can imagine. I struggled with WordPress for years and hate using it. I’ve done your Webflow masterclass and it’s awesome!!! 👏 ❤️ P.S. hope you and your family are safe.

The thing that I like most, is the Editor. So much more fun and ease for creating blog posts. Or adjusting text on your pages. I see this as a unique selling point for my clients. This makes them much more in control of their own content. So this is a great feature!

I've been thinking of switching my portfolio website to webflow but pricing in India (when converted from USD) makes it very expensive for me. Wix is way more affordable here. Editor X plans are also relatively cheaper. I really would love to switch to webflow though. Are there any webflow users from India here? What plan would you suggest for a portfolio website?

If it is a simple static portfolio website, you could build the website in Webflow, pay 1 month Webflow hosting for you to be able to export the code and host the website on something like Firebase.

The reason I love Webflow so much is that it saves me a ton of time lost in explaining to the developer how things should be, I would rather build the website in Webflow than explaining it to the developer.

While it’s great that you can build your figma design from scratch in Webflow, I would like to see Webflow add way more free pasteable components like you see on Wix or Shopify. Not every website I build is going to be a ground breaking design, sometimes I just need something simple and something quick. That’s why I made the switch to Editor X, since you kind of get a bit of the freedom like Webflow but also the streamlined workflow of Wix. I know this sounds like an Editor X ad but I do think it will get a lot more usage soon since it’s like the Figma of website builders.

Hey Ran. I just took a look at your academy website. I have been developing a website to sell online courses right now in wordpress. I fell in love with webflow and planning to try out creating online course website using webflow. But the customer support told me that they dont have the LMS feature yet. So what do I use to create online course using webflow? Thank you

I am currently building a website for an application. When i am in my base breakpoint and allign all the objects the way i neeed them to be alligned, the preview looks fine. As soon as i share the link of the project, everything in the base breakpoint moved to the left though. The other breakpoints are fine, it is just the base breakpoint. Can anyone help me with that?

One thing I haven’t been able to find on webflow, is a way to have looping auto-play videos (.mp4). That’s an issue for me

Hey, you can either embed the video from elsewhere using html element and add a loop attribute or convert the video to a lottiefile and have a looot of control over what's happening ( stuff like play when hovering etc.)

@@chris_x_ai naah... Shopify isnt scalable at all... Yes, you can handle a massive volume of sells but you cant make your site more complex as easily as Magento. I was asking for alternatives to Magento. The other is woocommerce but is another problematic tool... I guess that in terms of e-commerce, for boutiques the best option is Webflow or Shopify, and for complex e-commerce Magento...

I have yet to see a webflow site with a decent lighthouse rating or speed. There seems to always be a ton of bloated code (yes, similar issues with Wordpress, etc). You're so much better off just learning real HTML/CSS/JS and skipping the platform.

I have read on multiple websites that the lighthouse tools are outdated and inaccurate. I scanned various webflow sites on speed testers and I got amazing scores on most of them ( both mobile and desktop) but very bad on lighthouse.. it was literally the only tool that gave the website a bad score.

No. In the time you could spend learning webflow, you could learn to code. Also, you learn a proprietary solution, and if webflow goes away, your skills are useless. Code can be deployed anywhere, and as such is vendor agnostic. Also, I think that webflow's UI is cumbersome (as a coder), unintuitive, and doesn't even make sense to a person who has worked with css for a while.

Strongly disagree on the last part of its UI. The only part I agree I agree with is it helps to learn code first because if you leave your client then they have to find another Webflow developer to take over which isn’t always easy.

@@poppingjaz exactly. Also it takes awhile to become proficient in CSS and then to follow that up w JavaScript takes a lot of months. Figma to Webflow is easier but like you said it’s not easy to find a WF dev. Easier to find a Wordpress guy

You can learn to code in less than a week... Then if you learn Webflow you would be even a better coder and understand it better. Not talking about JS here, that is another subject. And remember that Webflow is intended for designers with no interest in learning to code in the first place... Of course is better to be able to code yeah... But its also better to be rich rather than poor. And it's better to be handsome rather than ugly.

@@poppingjaz I find the UI convoluted, it doesn't mean that it doesn't work for some. I just hate the proprietary nature of webflow.

@@MrZxcvbnm22 But I find coding to be way easier than webflow. Coding is intuitive, webflow is not. Webflow takes forever to learn, coding I find is easier to pick up.
