The information centre is my favourite and very simple to make it a hoard base. I’ve never tried the farm but I like the idea of catwalks.

One nice thing about the farmhouse is all the dead corn stalks that you can harvest tons of corn seed from. Then you can use the flat land for gardening or further construction.

The last time I used an existing building was number 5! But I usually just build my own structures near or in a city lol!

#5 is by far my favorite and one of two that I use as my go to in a random gen. #4 is a bit of a pain to defend and doesn't allow you to see approaching threats but is concrete and has loot. #3 great for zombies and keeping a low profile but pretty bad in pvp. Easy to defend but easier to get trapped in. #2 my other go to, small easy to defend, great for both pvp and pve and can be easily be turned into a hoard base by day 7 that will last till day 70+ I usually tear down the top floor and make that a crop farm. A few downsides, limited to only a few biomes and usually on a marked path. #1 eh, never used it, if playing on nov game and I want something big I take the hospital or ostrich hotel but I try to limit myself to things I can solo defend even vs hoards. Pro: tons of space and lots of corn plus multiple buildings. Cons tons of space, lots of dogs, multiple buildings. You can defend parts and sections but not the whole thing, plus only spawns in nov game.
