Thanks for doing this video! I was able to find My Name is Red and The Architect's Apprentice at the library. Your first and second place recommendations sound really good and I will try to find them maybe on amazon.

You are very welcome! The first book is currently not in the site (at least in amazon Turkey) and I did not know it when I filmed it 🙈 Maybe it will be in the future 🤗 I will try to read books just for this video series so that I could be able to give recommendations in the future as well 😊

Elif Shafak is one of my favorite authors! I read The Architect's Apprentice too though my biggesr fave was The Bastard of Istanbul. My Name is Red was the first book by a Turkish author that I read. I read before I entered university and at the time I didn't really enjoy it. However, I thought Orhan Pamuk has a nice writing style and I will read more from him. I have not read the other 3 but I think that your list sounds really amazing - Time Regulation Institute sounds like a fun book!

Thanks for watching! I have the Bastard of Istanbul along with Forty Rules of Love in my TBR. I really like Shafak's writing style. Orhan Pamuk, although I admire his plots and structure in books, I find his writing style is difficult sometimes. I will read his newer books (Museum of Innonence) and find if my thoughts are changed. Time Regulations Institute is has so many eccentric characters. I am not sure if some things will be lost in translation but still it will be very fun!

Freddie the Sluggish Reader pointed me here. Orhan Pamuk is one of my favourite authors. I also know the Shafak but the others are great new recommendations for me. Thank you. I have taken a quick look around your channel too. Delighted to have found you.

Welcome, I love new friends!! Freddie is one of the nicest people in the community. I cannot thank him enough. I will read more from Orhan Pamuk in the following months. He is the author that I read less from this list. I subbed your channel and watched some of your content and loved it. I guess we have to thank Freddie.

I picked up The Architect's Apprentice at the library yesterday. I started reading it in the car when I was waiting to pick-up my groceries. I was drawn right in - I can't wait to continue.

I’ve been wanting to visit Turkey for a while but since that won’t happen any time soon, I’ve decided reading books by Turkish authors is a good alternative for now. Thanks for the recommendations!

Pamuk!! My dog is called Pamuk (because of its meaning, white, cotton). I've always meant to read a book by the author, simply because he has the same name. I have one of his books called 'Other Colours' (but the Dutch translation). My mum has another one of his books, though I can't remember what that one is called.

I think Other Colours is a short story collection by him. Enjoy reading them! He has many translated works but My Name is Red was my favorite among the ones I have read.

You are very welcome. Sorry for the late reply but I was very busy at work. At which level are you in Turkish. I might recommend condensed versions of adult books or really good middle grade books based on your level. Let's keep in touch via e-mail. My e-mail adress is in the description box.

It is very good to write the names of Turkish books in the description box because I am Bangladeshi,So I can easily understand then and also it is very useful to say that I will get these books in my country Bangladesh or not? Where can I find these books?
