Caution: Some cougars in the Pacific Northwest have developed a pack hunting strategy, where they surround the target and display disinterest, which is as much energy as they can safely expend. Known as the "Bored Cougar Behavior", animal behaviorists are still attempting to understand how the behavior benefits survival. "There are many strange creatures under the ocean..." -- Cousteau

I don't understand why people think this is the end all perfect gun. It was designed with 1 thing in mind: carjacking defense. One huge advantage of the 22 is that the ammo is super light. You can carry a box of 50 without noticing. You start noticing the weight of a box of 50 in 9mm or 38 special. I might be inclined to carry a can of bear spray and a 22 of my choosing.

True. Every day we run into those who make assumptions or draw conclusions based on fragments of information presented from only one point of view - or worse, on the lack of information - would you ever want them on a jury? Would you ever want them as a boss? Would you ever hire them to supervise others? They are toxic and mutually exclusive with justice.

Instead of the Ruger, I went with the Henry AR-7 in my survival/bug-out bag; especially for when you don’t want folks to know you have a rifle. Sure, it’s not immediately deployable like my .45 EDC, but it assembles quickly, is lightweight, and remarkably accurate. Plus, it breaks down and fits into the stock, which is waterproof, and floats.

Paul, back in the 80's when I was a teenager a friend had a Savage Model 24 (i think that is correct) over/under that was chambered in a rifle on the top barrel and shotgun on the bottom. I think the rifle was 222 Rem and the Shotgun was 20 Gauge with a 3 inch chamber. It was great for a survival situation. They made them in a lot of different combinations. I don't know why guns like that are not made anymore.

Greetings from Guam, Paul! First I just wanted to thank you so so much for providing a channel for us to be educated and better prepare ourselves through the sharing of your knowledge and experiences. Some of us may not realize it, but the fact that you put so much into making these videos is not totally lost on us. Now with that being said, this " thank you" comes with a list of caveats.. although I am extremely grateful for all your hard work.. I really would love to request another 2-3 hour long timed video. I greatly enjoyed your Thanksgiving special and would very much enjoy seeing a video with you camping, cooking, hunting, bushcraft or any other content youd like to throw in there. Thank again!

I’ve read about people extending their 22 barrel with a piece of pvc pipe for shooting shotshell. Pipe removes effect of barrel rifling and provides good grouping. This was for shooting rats in barns and around dwellings - #9-#12 shot has short effective range and doesn’t call a lot of property damage. Wonder if you could do the same with a judge.
@greasinplays
@greasinplays 3 жыл бұрын
@@finngamesknudson1457 it would almost definitely fly off or break theres a lot more expanding gasses from a 410 at least in terms of how much volume of gas is released but i have seen pvc survive some amazing things guess ill have to try it to find out but i dont wanna buy a judge to do it....
@finngamesknudson1457
@finngamesknudson1457 3 жыл бұрын
@@greasinplays - Agreed. What I was reading about was added to 22 rifle barrel. I doubt there is much pressure left at end of 16” 22 barrel, and then expansion from .22” to ~.5 drops pressure immensely. Pressure issue would be worse because of the judge’s short barrel. I imagine 410 still has powder burning at end of judge’s barrel - if it didn’t burst a pipe it would melt the plastic. Time to reject this concept as unworkable - the judge remains unredeemable and useless.

I made up a load for my 3006 using 90gr cast bullets and trailboss that pushes that little guy just over the sound barrier. With no magnification these rounds hit dead center on the 5th line down on my scope at 50 yards. I keep a dozen of them wrapped up in 2 pairs of extra socks (no noise) in the bottom of my hunting bag. I figure a 90gr bullet at 1200fps is the exact ballistics as a 30 Luger and that would take any small game without any meat loss. I'm also lucky enough to have access to an Iridium satellite phone I take on long overnight hunts in the Adirodacks. That is the ultimate survival tool. I have one from work and never had to use it but you can rent them for like $20/day and it sure makes me feel good knowing if I fall down a cliff and break my legs I can call my wife and let her remind me how stupid I am to hunt alone.
