Yes he always do that as a form of appreciation to the ice. This boy is so precious. Somehow we are so used to it that we forgot it's something that's worth mentioning. Another example of taking things for granted. And yes! Good idea we really should mention all these special gestures from him in our next videos! Its always damn magical whenever Yuzuru is on the rink.. Specially with that hydroblade of his. Its stunning and graceful at the same time.

Totally agree! He always has some sort of special touch when he skates. You just couldn't take your eyes off him. Some call it aura, some call it charm, some say charisma. Whatever they call, we know we are so lucky to have the chance to watch this sport when he's playing. 💕

sasha's cantilever is even more impressive than shoma's, she puts her hands over her head while he just puts his arm down. if she slipped she wouldn't be able to put her hands down. so insane

I think that Zhenya's skid spiral was the most difficult ever plus its transition was phenomenal, even critics and commentators alike praised that it was difficult to convey how special her skid spiral is.

Kevin's ina bauer is in fact called JZ slide, since, I believe it was his coach John Zimmerman who came up with it and performed it first

During the spread eagle part I was just waiting for the Yuzuru part because how?? How could any mention of spread eagle not mention yuzuru?? He literally uses that as entrances and exits from jumps, and does outside edge spread eagle into inside edge spread eagle that just looks beautiful!

I know someday someone will be more graceful and amazing than Yuzuru. But the fact that he's the Ice Prince will always stay in my heart. When I watch others, it feels like they are just motivated to get medals or enjoy skating at bigger stage. But when I watch Yuzuru, thats not the case at all. It feels like everything turns white, like he's just dancing beautifully on air without people or the pressure of competition. He brings me on another world and its humbly amazing. My Ice Prince😍

Gracias por el video. Aquí puedo apreciar y decir que con certeza que Yuzuru es el rey absoluto del Hydrobale, su línea corporal es perfecta y aunque él lo haga parecer súper fácil es un elemento altamente muy difícil de realizar. Que a muchos patinadores de clase A les cuesta realizar. Sin intención de ofender a los demás patinadores (porque todos se esfuerzan) Yuzuru Hanyu es de ésos atletas que aparecen cada cien años para evolucionar un deporte.

Amazing talented people, it's so mesmerising how they can do all that on ice, while somehow i still manage to trip over thin air while walking in a straight line on solid ground... If i were to choose a favourite figure skating move, it would definitely be Yuzuru's hydroblade, I don't really know how to put in words, it's just...beautiful. The elegance, the gracefulness, the way he touches the ice (not to mention when he kissed the ice during Haru Yo Koi...that, for me, was one of the most beautiful moments in figure skating history), it's the perfect tribute to the ice. I also love Shoma's Cantilever (i guess i have a weakness for moves where the skaters get to touch the ice).

Why didn’t you feature Trusova’s cantilever???? She was excelling at this amazing feat as a JR, unfortunately her coach packed so many quads (which NO ONE, even her fellow skaters trained by the notorious Tutberidze “team” could come close to performing consistently) that her fiery artistry got lost at the Bejing Olympics. Watch her Jr. skating competitions AND her “Wonder Woman” Gala Exhibition. She loves having skating duos with the Men’s “quad kings” too, just for fun. The Tutberidze team purposely choreographed her program without letting her shine. I’m not surprised at all about her hurt and anger at winning Silver and not Gold! She can and has shown more fierce artistry than Scherbakova when her choreographers allowed her to. I mean WHY pack her program with quad after quad (diminishing her own artistry) when her competitors had only one type of quad, or in Valieva’s case had several, but they were so pre-rotated to be considered full blade assist? I hope Trusova leaves the Tutberidze camp that threw her under the bus in Bejing.

The greatest skaters always tried to leave their signature in their routines. Remember Yagudin's and Jouber's steps, Candeloro's ankle pirouette, Anissina lifting up Peyzerat, Lambiel's unique spins, Bonaly's back jumping ? Now is the turn of the new generation to leave their trademarks on the ice , and in our memories.

Yes really great to see those beautiful and signature moves on ice performed by the skaters :)) When I think of candeloro and Bonaly, always remember their back flip though. That Candeloro routine dressing in American flag..😆

Yes I think Robin Cousins holds the Guinness book of records for the longest back flip. Always loved Scott Hamilton’s barrel rolls. There have been some great skaters but I think Yuzu is the GOAT, he’s got the whole package.

Change of edge spiral is Michelle's signature move. Michelle's Charlotte spiral is amazing, when her finger touched the ice just like a kiss.

omggg this is so good, and even more fun with your captions 9:40 can't stop laughing at Shoma's part 😂😂😂 10:08 for some reason, I find it look cute more than cool LOL like three lil boys try to look cool 😂😂😂 tbh, I expected Yuzu's hydroblade to be the 1st since the beginning// I mean what else could it be then yuzu's hydroblade is absolutely an art, I could never get bored of it the signature moves that I really like are - Yuzu's hydroblade // the perfect element (not enough space to describe how much I like it) - Shoma's canteliver // I think it looks so powerful (and he holds it quite long, which I think it's so difficult to do that) - Jason's y spiral // it look so graceful, and I love that he also uses the elements that we barely see in men skating (like overcome gender barrier) ps. thank you for the video and info. Beautiful work. Amazing. amazing strong super people . Would add double hydroblade from Oona and Gage Brown( from nothing else matter) and Trusova in Unstoppable . ( cantilever ).

I don't know what to think on all the examples, but appreciate the compilation. Stating this was about signature moves, I definitely know some make these moves their own. I wouldn't just call it a hydroblade because someone bends down to touch the ice or a spread eagle when it looks like they were just prepping to jump. Least not that they're examples of a signature move for those skaters yet. Could have pulled older skaters too for examples. Qwan is still one of the prettiest and iconic spirals.

Yes! Sasha Cohen's spiral is not surpassable by anyone!! She has the best lines ever! Unfortunately spirals are no longer the element now (replaced with Choreo Sequence which is.. hmm shorter and more crammed).. Always love to watch Sasha Cohen's Spiral sequence. Her SP in Worlds 2004 was... Superb!! The Best Spiral Sequence of all time!

Graceful Michelle kwan is one of the greatest artists on ice in the history ( maybe the best one ).😊 Change of edge spiral is Michelle's signature move. I also enjoy Michelle's Charlotte spiral, when her finger touched the ice just like a kiss.❤❤❤❤❤

@figureskatingfan tus videos son sensacionales, pero no vi por ningún lado a Yuzuru en los giros de camello y spread eagle, nos debes un video especial de ellos... siempre realiza esos giros en dificultad 4 y ni hablar de SE, es un pre o post aterrizaje de locos, y él lo hace ver como si fuera nada, sin esfuerzo y aún sonríe cuando lo hace con su carácteristica magnificencia!!! Saludos, espero con ansias ese video... los mejores sln después de Pyeonchang, cuando corrigió su postura y simplemente se volvieron angelicales sus giros y SE 😍😍😍😍

おもしろかったです。フィギュアにはジャンプがなくても魅せられる技がたくさん。でもジャンプ重視の時代になってこういう技をゆっくり見られるプログラムが減ってしまいましたね。羽生君のハイドロなんか長かったフリーだからこそ目も眩む見せ場だったのに。最後のコーチシーンを見て思うのは、股関節のウルトラ柔軟性とあの姿勢を支えて起き上がる筋力がなければ難しいということ。男女両方の長所を兼ね備えた羽生君しかできない要素なんですね。

はい！多くのスケーターはハイドロを行うことができます。 しかし、羽生君のようにハイドロを行うことはできません。 彼の動きはとても滑らかでいいです!! 多分彼の「骨盤」はこの動きに本当に適しています。「笑」😂😆

骨盤のせいではないと思いますよ あの柔軟性は生まれ持ったものではありませんし筋力もそうです 基礎力の高さも生まれ持ったものではありません バク転ができるのも骨組みのせいですか？ すべては日々の努力の積み重ねの賜物ですよ
