Before the Tour shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the then 20-year-old rose nearly 150 spots in the rankings over the previous 12 months.
Wins over Tamara Zidansek, Alizé Cornet, Lizette Cabrera, Heather Watson, and Zhang Shuai in Tasmania clinched her second career title on the Hologic WTA Tour.

@@Irfan87 My buddy! Read somewhere that Ryba was given a 9% chance of winning the title before the start of Wimbledon. Every time Halep was touted as the champ, it'd make me chuckle. It's high time composure, poise and dignified silence aren't mistaken for inability. Can't congratulate Lena enough!
