Changed the whole pump on a GCV190, but the inlet valve leaks. Can i just change that valve?

I bought a Wen 3100 psi machine that lasted 3 years, Easy to start, never had a problem with it until the cover blew off during a storm and it got soaked. Hasn't started since. It might be the ignition coil, but you have to take everything off the top of the engine, disconnecting so many things I don't think I would ever get it back together. So I just bought a new one. I will make sure this one won't get rained on.

Usually gas left in tank and carburetor evaporates and leaves behind Gunk (waxy substance) On all of my gas powered equipment I have added gas shut off valves between tank and engine. That way I can run the left over gas out of the carburetor so it doesn't gum up. I also use a product called Sta-bil to hinder the gunk buildup. This is especially true of 2 cycle engines with oil in the gas.

Last gas powered washer I ever buy, they don’t get used often enough and I’m about dead buy the time I get it started.

@@MarkWoodChannel Ugh, I JUST bought mine to replace the electric one that died. It worked immediately upon being brought home from the store. A month later, it won't start. This is unbelievable.

@@hayes2144 I got so frustrated with mine that I ripped the top off and start it with an electric drill. Why the hell do they make these pieces of crap so poorly and without an electric start?

Our Honda GCV pressure washer won’t start, the cord will pull about 6 inches and stop. We have replaced the spark plug, checked the fly wheel, etc. The spark plug was definitely bad, added stabilizer to our fuel, checked oil and just cleaned the carburetor less than a month ago. When the pull cord is off the flywheel it extends completely so I don’t think it’s jammed- is there anything else we can check? Having a hard time getting the flywheel off to check the key for replacement- also made sure to plug the trigger while attempting to start to ensure that the pressure isn’t built up in the pump

Search hydrolocking. You’ll need to empty the oil. Take out the spark plug and then the pull start should work. Pull it several times and oil should shoot out the spark plug reservoir. Keep doing it until it pulls dry several times. Them refill oil put plug back in and let sit over night.

@@VideoResourceLibrary we took it into a repair place and they said that the engine was blown- no specifics and wouldn’t call us back, is this is a viable option still with the hydro locking?

Always squeeze handle to release water pressure as you pull the rope. Especially if its a Craftsman . Squeeze trigger till all pressure is gone then start it. 1st pull every time

I assume the handle and trigger are the same thing? First you said squeeze handle AS you pull. Then you implied to pull AFTER you squeeze trigger 🤔

I've replaced carb, and installed new sparks plugs but the gcv160 still won't crank. Any ideas? I think the ignition coil going bad is extremely unlikely.

I have the same issues. I had mine sitting for 5 years;changed oil, spark plug, Emptied the littIe gas that was left, inspected fuel filter, dismantled & cleaned the carburetor parts,pulled the cord like a madman, still won't start 😒

My craftsman power washer won't start. It will start with starting fluid but dies right away!? I have taken the carb off and cleaned it thoroughly and replaced the spark plug. I haven't checked the igniting coil yet but I would think it is still good due to starting with starter fluid. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the pilot jet screw. Get a pipe cleaner and stick it in the screw

Take bolt out from bottom of carb/drain bolt,make sure gas flows out ,

Used it 1 time. Store it then 1 year later the damn thing wont start and its practically brand new

Same here but 6 months for me. Even used fuel stabilizer. What a POS.

@@TheWizzyWizard clean the carb real good buddy. Mine did the same thing and after cleaning the carb twice it fired up. There's that small pin hole in the carb bowl bolt that gets clogged. Spraying carb cleaner just didn't do it for me I had to poke that hole with a piece of wire

@@tonyragano3695 I didn't, I was able to just take the bowl off of it and clean the bolt that hold the bowl on. I didn't know there was a small hole in the bolt you have to clean, that eneded up being the problem.

When the cord is real tight after having been running it could also be pressure built up in the pump. Squeeze the trigger, release the pressure, then see if it's easy again. This happens sometimes when you add gas. You'll turn it off, try to restart and it feels like it's stuck. Often enough its excessive pressure in the pump.

Could be flooded if want start and each time you pull cord it makes gas go into it and flood it if it does pull out spark plugs and try cranking 12 times dry off spark plugs reinstall it and try it.This is what we was told by young man where we bought ours.
