Top Skills of The Mechanic To Full Restoration The Hitachi 3-Phase A-1500 3 In 1 Woodworking
Welcome to my Restoration Skills channel !- a enthusiast for restoring antiques and used items. Living and working in Vietnam, I've discovered a particular passion for seeking, restoring, and breathing life back into items that have fallen out of time. From antiques to everyday objects, I believe that each item has its own story and deserves to be preserved and restored. Behind every restoration product is passion and dedication. I see them not just as old objects, but as artworks with historical and personal value. Through restoration, I learn about and respect cultural and traditional values, as well as contribute to preserving the significance of these objects for the community and society. I hope that by sharing my restoration actions, techniques, and experiences, I can inspire and call on everyone to join the journey of restoration and preservation of culture. Please follow me on this journey to explore and resurrect cultural treasures through our small contributions. Thank you for your support. Let's create a vibrant and social community for restoring antiques and used items together!

Learn how to remove and fit bearings. Learn how to make correct and safe electrical connections. Wear hand and eye protection when welding. Use breathing and skin protection when spraying. Do not use excessive grease on a machine which is going to create lots of dust. When you find a bodged chain tensioner, make a new one. You are not a mechanic, you are a painter and decorator.

There is nothing more stupid then a pedantic safety Nazi ,,,,,especially when the finished product is virtually 100%..... I do love running OSHA inspectors off job sites, BTW. - Never lost a case yet, either.

And also, the working surfaces of woodworking machines are never painted, left plain cast iron and waxed. See how much rust was on the unrestored surfaces for a clue.

Work done a lot, even too quickly! you did not check the bearings if they were worn, where you welded you left the weld very poorly finished and during painting you also repainted all the milled parts which served as a reference for a correct coupling of the parts, in addition to having also painted all the screws with lock nut which served as an adjuster furthermore, you used so much grease that after the first two hours of work it is already full of sawdust and shavings that block all the mechanisms. You have created a beautiful display object not a functional machine

One thing I've noticed the first thing he does is to spray all the rusted nuts an bolts with a pentrating spray and let's it sit for awhile to let the spray work to loosen the rust. Other restoration channals I've watched just use a bigger hammer or a cutting torch to remove the stuck nuts an bolts.

It's to bad you don't have a sand blaster to remove all the old paint and rust In places you can't get hand tools into to clean.Never paint the work surfaces of any wood working machine. Just use a wire wheel to remove the rust and put a light coat of oil on the surface and wipe off any oil. The oil is only to keep the surface from rusting again.

I agree whole heartedly with you. This guy just made unwarranted work for himself these are workshop tools made from cast iron. They don't need to be covered in mud then sanded to make them look like new. Just do the repairs necessary and put it back together sharpen knives and put on belts, paint THEN you have a good machine as good as a new one! By the way you found the correct shade of green for a change.

Very, Very good job. Just is there a reason that you painted the bed surfaces? - Those normally would be left bare. Also I think I would have been tempted to take a link out of that chain. Really good job, though. YOu got to have a WAY better memory then mine. I'd have never gotten it back together BTW Speaking of painting. You are one of the only persons on KZfaq I have seen that actually knows how to spray paint. Once more. Good job. - That planer works better then our like new Rockwell.

When i saw you use the jointer, well not that much at once and make a pushblock for it, but more important align the front table with the spining blade so you don't get so much snipe because at the last end you push it down due to the hight difference. and look for a diiferent saw blad that match your speed. little rough but nice restauration. love the green. to get less snipe through the planer just make an extension table you can slide in sou your outfeed table is longer, and that takes a lot of snipe away. whatch your fingers and enjoy the machine.

Wrong for 2-reasons. 1- If it was a problem then why did Hitachi build it with grease fittings. = 2-Yje sawdust around the slides actually acts like a seal, and keeps the grease in, ,,,,, BTW, Check Kieth Ruker's restoration of the big planer mill at the museum. They take off a good 1/4" (7mm) at a time. - If the machine will handle it,,,, let it handle it.

Hello, quite precise renovation of this multifunctional woodworking device (planer, thicknesser and saw). I noticed a simplified chain tension in the form of a bent screw. I think you should get an appropriate brass slide, and preferably a roller with a spring tensioner. You put a lot of work into this renovation. Congratulations and best regards 😀.

Painting the table top? Why not just wax it? I know, you have a humid environment. That paint is going to wear off quick and might get on the wood being cut over time. I also have a lot compassion for your chicken sharing the spray booth...

a lot of work respect, but I didn't see that new ball bearings were installed, the machine shaft or cutting head looks like a flap knife shaft, these have not been allowed to be used in Germany for around 50 years, nobody sprays the threads with paint, the circular saw did not have a riving knife or a protective cover

Our Rockwell planer has the identical set up on it and it is less then 10 years old. Then the first think anybody with a part of a brain is remove the guard from a table saw before they get hurt, -It is only there to keep you from dropping a board on top of the blade and have it shot backward - Bet you didn' know that. The riving knife has it's place, especially when ripping but has to be removed for most other table saw operations. ,,,, Damn collage boy Safety Nazis.who never actually ran a machine.

Since you have fixed that machine it is not possible to work exactly. The repair is too fast without adjusting the machine properly, it shows in the precision of the blades, too much paint in places where they shouldn't. It's not all about painting the machine and making it look like new, but rather proper operation. I think you know how to do it better Regards(Bearbeitet)Original wiederherstellen
