After having a protune by goosetuned on my wife's subaru, how he explains it even on his site is highly recommend to you. Example Datlog order 1st idle tuning 2nd driving tune 1-2 psi max 3rd wot(100% down )3rd gear pull 7k rpm 4-7 same as he raises the boost levels to 20psi 8th final tune, shift 1-4 like you're racing Completely understand yours is different as for each vehicle and person tuning, but a guide chart would help. I mean you got everything else listed under the sun for the pcm and hptuners but no tuning on how you like it done. Another good point would be don't send more than 1 datalog as I did, with no explanation I completely understood why. I've tuned on microtech, wolf3d, haltech and others.(it gets complicated on what you're supposed to look at!). My bad guys.

Hey Jason, thanks for the suggestion! A guide chart is not a bad idea. When a customer starts tuning with us, we email them an initial tune with a list of how we want them to drive during their initial scans. We avoid posting a general guide chart because, as you said, each vehicle is a little different. We're always looking for better ways to communicate and streamline the tuning process. @@ZZPerformanceChannel you guys have been great to me and many others I'm certain. I think this will just help improve what you're doing and make it easier/less time consuming for you folks to tune. It made a world of difference while tuning the wifes subaru. Taking it out for a rip here on maybe a closed road.. kzfaq.infoABCc3DkBQbo?feature=share Yeah definitely closed Edit: while tuning the subaru, we did step 2 twice because parameters he was given on datalog vs AFR readout was -.5 off. Double checked with handheld innovate lm-1.

Some folks must have a secret death wish for their engines. Even with a wide array of modern electronic monitoring systems at their fingertips, they still choose to ignore the early warning signs of impending doom. Maybe they have a hard time understanding that their indestructible pride and joy has limitations so they keep their foot in it while expecting the problem to correct itself. But in a fraction of a second the situation goes from impending doom to eminent disaster and it’s all over except for the crying. I’ve been down that road myself 😵‍💫. I appreciate ZZP for the reminder about how important common sense really is. Repeating that no-win scenario would be a total bummer 😳

You should see what a protuner can do then, Wot runs by the 3rd run on a subaru engine. A good tune starts with good instructions on how the tuner wants you to drive it, unfortunately zzp lacked on the instructions on this one before making this video. I'm sure they'll fix that as they are a great company from my experience so far. I'm not complaining about how they're tuning my boys at all, in fact they're doing amazing. I'm the one driving and have only logged up to 3rd wot at most. I built it, drove it, so if it goes pfffft it's all on me but, instructions for those that have never been tuned before would help the person tuning in the end.

@@Not.The.Avg.Smitty I personally think that ZZP has done a fantastic job in telling their customers how to drive while tuning. Usually they are pretty good at telling you what they need or are working on. And for people who don't do text instructions well, they have a 10 minute long video called "How to drive while remote tuning" which explains pretty well.

I’m far from being a pro tuner and I’ve never had a modern digital tune done by a professional but I do think that I can somehow relate to the situations that have been described in these comments. There definitely should be a open line of communications between the tuner and the customer on all levels. Not just the basics required to get everything up and running to the customers approval without also having a plan for scheduled adjustments and tune diagnostics within reasonable limits. Trust in the tuner is also important for a customer to have before he or she hands over the keys to their expensive rides. I’ve never had any type of tuning or mechanical work done by ZZP but I can express my thoughts about trust based on 20 years of experience as a customer. I would have to say that without a doubt, doing business with ZZP has been an absolutely flawless experience. That’s a fact that I can’t say about any of the many other automotive performance companies that I choose to do business with. And not just routine online purchases but the few times that I felt the need to speak to a real ZZP human being, I always got a very pleasant, knowledgeable and honest human. Those are qualities most often found with a dedicated professional. Another way of putting it is there’s nothing about ZZP that even remotely resembles bullshit. Sales and service that customers feel comfortable with and that’s just good business. There’s even someone in the shipping department that draws a little smiley face along with a couple of words in appreciation 😊. That might seem lame to some but if you’re the person that’s having a day that generally sucks , you can open a new ZZP arrival and I guarantee that lame smiley face will have a positive effect. If not then maybe slitting a wrist is in order 😵, hopefully NOT 😂. “Go Fast… Not Broke “. What’s not to like about that ? 🏁

It will really depend based on what you've put into the car and how well you communicate with your tuner. Always check with your tuner before putting a lot of stress on a newly tuned car.

I was a little upset after I watched this video but at the end I rationalized the situation and came up with this You guys need to do better at explaining the process of things better and letting people know that are just getting into the car seen that there are different levels that need to be taken First it's floor it then it's drive normal maybe I'm missing something but if my tuner looks at my scan and see something that is not good for the engine he should reach out but before that evaluate the situation because everyone is not mechanical vets some people are new and want to accomplish great things but need guidance in understanding things better and that's where zzp should comes in at Don't just tell people list of things to buy and not guide them correctly that is what will set you apart from the rest That's what's needed in this world today I have yet to see companies do that be more than just great performance parts to buy

Hey Charles, we understand not everyone has the same level of mechanical knowledge. When a customer decides to tune with us, our tuners stay in constant communication and will email them directly to guide them through the process. We will always notify a customer if something problematic shows up in a scan, but it is a two-way street. Not every problem will show up in a scan, and if something seems off with the car we need to know immediately to help diagnose it.
