Among their biggest and best songs as Jefferson Starship. Marty Balin was really good as the lead on this and quite a few others as well as in the days when they were the Airplane!Another fantastic tune and instrumentals with Marty on lead is St. Charles, a whirlwind of a song!

So far I'm liking how you react. You let the song play and then you talk afterwards. That way you don't interrupt the song or the feeling that the song brings out in people or doesn't bring out depending on who you are

"Miracles" was all over the radio when I was a kid, trey seventies, as it were. The subtext of the song is a lament for the end of the "All You Need Is Love" era as the sixties faded into the seventies. Jefferson Starship formed from the ashes of the Jefferson Airplane, one of the pioneering bands of psychedelic rock. They headlined the Monterey Pop Festival (1967), Woodstock (1969), Altamont Free Concert (1969), and the first Isle of Wight Festival (1968). That's about as sixties as it gets.

Great reaction! I have been waiting for a big channel to react to this song. It is one of the most intricate vocal performances in rock. They are singing almost through the whole song. There is just a very short sax solo. Despite being “vocal heavy” it never gets boring or seems repetitive. It is a masterpiece of pop music. Very unique! Thanks!

Such a sublime song, one of my all time favorites. You have Marty Balin's ethereal vocals and lyrics that remind me of a guy laying on a hammock and waxing poetic about his love, and then you have the backing vocals, led by the inimatable Gracie Slick, that are a passionate counterpoint that keep the song from devolving into sappiness. And then there's the meandering, dreamy composition and arrangement that ties it all together. Beautiful choice, beautiful reaction, J!

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails

This is arguably the best Jefferson Starship album and Marty Balin's lead is so good and Grace Slick and Paul Kantner in backing vocals. Count On Me is another good one and I would add to that Love Too Good with Grace on lead vocals. Craig Chaquico on guitars is fantastic. Such a great guitarist, after Airplane and both Starship versions he went on to play jazz guitar and has a good album with Russ Freeman of the Rippingtons. The two best Jefferson Starship albums with Mickey Thomas are Stranger and Winds Of Change.

Whoa, craig. I wasn't insulting you or your opinion. What's your damage?@@craigmarkowski7156 I was commenting on the fact that several people I have PERSONALLY seen comment that it is repetitious, but that they never really noticed it before because they like the song so much and/or because it's such a good song. It was a general observation that if a song is repetitious but people don't tend to notice that then it's probably a pretty good song. What do you find so objectionable about that? SHEESH!
