Though their bite force is some near the highest, the muscles they use to open their jaw is pretty weak. Duct tape around its mouth is sufficient. Pretty interesting stuff :)

When I used to live in Florida we would see alligators in our backyard all the time. It happened so often that even when we went to swim at my aunt’s house I was scared that an alligator would come crawling towards me because that sort of thing happened all the time.

After a hurricane, while pregnant with me, my mother was trying to remove this very large branch from our man made pond in the front yard. When it started moving (the water was very murky) she realized it was actually a gator. My dad came home from work, tied the gator up and took it back to its habitat. Yes I lived in Florida
