I finally finish most of the interior sheathing in the blacksmith shop and make a "storage unit" for the power hammer tools and dies.

I like your timing and editing, this is why I keep on coming back over and over to your channel. Seeing your videos is like a Christmas present every time. I absolutely love that you don't try to fluff up your videos with music, like some of the other channels -- your videos don't need it, because they're perfect on their own. Just something about the real and raw quality of what you do keeps me coming back. Keep up the great work you're doing and thank you so much for sharing these videos with us.

6:56 The best part of the video. And when you cut the planks off to make that giant hole in the wall, all I could think was "there's no freakin way he's putting in a window that big, that would be awesome!" Then you put a window I that big. Lol. Can't wait for more blacksmithing.

@kenparnell4297

Back when I had my forge open, I would always take a few minutes at the end of each day and clean up. I know fellows who seemed to do the opposite. I ran out of rebar once and needed to finish up something and couldn't get to the steel house. I called a friend and he had some he'd sell me. I got there and I was shocked at the mess in his shop. His forge was a death trap, trash all over everything, rust on his tools. I got the stuff from him and asked if he was alright, maybe he needed some help. He said no he knew where most everything was and if I came in and cleaned it up he'd never find anything again. Honestly, it was a pile of junk filled with trash from take out boxes he just piled up when he finished eating. All I told him was that if it ever catches fire I hope you don't try to put it out. It did burn down a year or two later and he retired. LOL!

I knew you would get around to making that rack for your power hammer tools. haha ;) Torbjörn i have to say how awesome it is that you have such amazing burial mounds and likely old stone circles so close to home. As a sort of student (self study) of all things from the old scandinavian world it would be fantastic to walk where the ancestors stood and worshiped the old gods.

Simply wonderful!...its a real treat looking into this mans world and being inside that workshop all be it through the lens of a camera. What a magical space...a lot less trouble in the world if every man & his dog had half the set up this man has to enjoy. A product of hard work and commitment. Well done Torbjorn. Hair stood on the back of my neck when i seen the standing stone & carvings. Similarly here in Ireland, we also have our fair share of standing stones. Ireland sends greetings & well wishes. Nice! But no insulation in the walls? I'm guessing between the forge and working with it, there's no need for it. As one of my employers used to say, if you're cold, you ain't working hard enough. Enjoyed watching.
@princepa123
@princepa123 3 жыл бұрын
the insulation would also be fore sound proofing the workshop, in hopes of deadening the sound from the hammering. I would also think that one could incorporate a duct system to pipe out the hot air if it got too hot.
