"It's a true story," says Bathory about the video. "We tried to take stories and we tried to take real life events and portray it. And in the video, some of those guys are veterans themselves. They're not actors, they're veterans, so you can see that emotion and it's as real as it can be." More: FFDP's Zoltan Bathory Talks 'Wrong Side of Heaven' Video

When he says, in the last scene, "you saved my life brother" hits hard every time I watch this. The only ones that can help veterans are other veterans. I believe that that was what that last scene was about. We've got to have each other's six at all times. To all my brothers and sisters in and and out of uniform, keep the faith.

As a disabled combat vet, started out in the Corps in 96 and was medically retired from the Army after 16 1/2 years of service and multiple deployments to the Raq and the Stan, this song destroys me every time I hear it. Thanks for the reaction and thanks for staying in the fight for all of us. Those of us who have been in harm's way will never forget and in some cases forgive the things we had to do just to survive.

I never sereved. Im no hero but im proud to know those that are. Ive told countless vets they are heros in my eyes. I get the same response everytime: im no hero. The real heros never came home. The real heros are the ones coming back in boxes. The real heros are the ones that died fighting for you and me. I never served, but i have the utmost respect for those that did and those that continue to serve. I will always appreciate your sacrifice. Thank you.

Thank you for your heart felt reaction and your service brother!!! I am a Veteran also! A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views, that is an Honor and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.

I have some American veterans as friends via mutual interest in games. And one of them said that he was in charge of multimillion weaponry and probably billion dollar Tanks, yet after the war he couldn't even get job flipping burgers. He was discharged due to PTSD, and because it became so bad that he couldn't function. I don't understand how 2 tours served male soldier is discarded on the streets basically. Yes they get paid, but in his case he's fiancé broke up from him in middle of her second tour. And according to him that fiancé took all her money she had earned in 1st tour. So after the pandemic hitshe couldn't have afford to make rent for 2yrs. If she'd had all he's military payments who knows maybe he could of had different start after army.

I'm glad you realize the importance of talking to someone. It took me over 40 years to figure that out. For all of my brothers and sisters who read this, I can't stress enough that you should take his advice to heart. It will help. I lost my family and became homeless because I didn't talk about my time "in country". It doesn't solve everything, but it makes it easier.

Fortunately, I have two things going for me in that regard. One is that I have always been the type to want to help others. Second, I have had far too many brothers and take their own lives because they felt it had to be bottled up.

Hooah! Thank You for Your SERVICE! It did hit me Battle I closed a successful business down to serve my Country. Married at that time for 12 1/2 years. I volunteered when I got in and then volunteered after AIT for Iraq. Went through pooh storm Katrina. We had to save each other during the storm, and then catch our bird for the box. We landed under fire. We survived for 11 months and 29 days, with a total tour of 545 days. During the box, Battles came to me as a big brother figure. I saw a loss there for a Deer John email within the first three months during the pooh there. Get back, and we lost more Soldiers in three years back than our total service. Then I lost my marriage after 14 1/2 years, but we focused on the babies. I had a career in the ARMY but chose to serve in Law Enforcement to be near my kids. They all are doing good. I help be a Battle still as much as I can. Not a lot of folks understood me in Law Enforcement either. That Hooah-hooah spirit has never left, and won't till I pass. My son has now taken my place. High Speed - Low Drag, and full of Patriot. My daughters are not too shabby either. I lucked out and have plenty of support still. Again, I won't leave a fellow comrade "Battle" behind. I still say the Soldier's Creed every day. Five Finger Death Punch nailed this song and video potrayal. We have to take care of each other. We were not trained to kiss babies and hold hands, but that does not mean we don't desire to do it. Everything is assessments with high alerts, fields of fire, POI's, ECP's, Threats, and Escorting with a little more civilian mindset. We have to still have the One Team, One Fight mindset. To all the Battles and their Families /Salute

Hey, the problem was on my side, sorry. I am a proud and thankful American, but I am ashamed of the powers that be in DC. As far as the reaching out deal, you are right on! The strongest man I ever knew was my Grandpa, the WWll pacific theater vet. We called him the "Steel Coated Marshmallow" because he wasn't ashamed to cry when he needed to, he wasn't ashamed to struggle and heal. He was a proud as can be Marine, tough as all get out, but the sweetest most gentle giant ever. I beg EVERYONE out there to put your money where your mouth is and as you shake hands with and thank up & down every vet you meet, DONATE to their cause! HELP THEM! I love and appreciate you and your brothers and sisters Tormented.

First and foremost ; THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE !!!! I am a Gulf War veteran and I could tell by looking at your eyes that you have combat experience. Any combat vet has a similar look. Our experiences may be different and our circumstances unique; but we all have that look. That blank, stone-faced, expressionless stare. Like statues....temporarily frozen in time....like a freeze framed photograph. Looking down range at something only we can see....cold , empty , hollow eyes that are direct reflections of our souls. A stare so stoic and numb that light seems to have difficulty reflecting back from our eyes. The survival guilt can be paralyzing at times....at least it was for me.....still battling that demon 31 years later . The back and forth morality battle....remembering the trauma and stress....nightmares....cold sweats....sometimes even when I'm awake....loud noises and screaming especially children.....gotten much better and episodes are less and less frequent. But it has never left. Always there. V.A. just wanted to put me on drugs.....I refused to take any drugs. I told them that I was not on any drugs while I was in combat getting my brains all scrambled up. So I refused to take drugs ....I told them that all these drugs are ; are a crutch for the therapists. Just a tool for them to keep you in a holding pattern....a drug induced zombie that is barely functional. If they don't give you drugs , that means they actually have to DO THE JOB THEY WERE TRAINED TO DO. The therapists had to actually work 50-60 years ago. They did not have all of the mental health drugs we have today. They actually had to engage with the patients without drugs....how did they do it ? By using the methods and tools that they were trained to use while being educated to become a therapist/ doctor. That was all that I asked for.....somebody that could help me without drugs. I just kept getting passed on from therapist to therapist. Every single one of them wanted to give me drugs!!! I eventually just stopped going all together. I told my case manager at the V.A. When you can find a doctor that agrees to treat me without any drugs of any kind ; please call me. He said I should stay in therapy etc...etc... I told him that ; I layed out the parameters of my mental health care and how I choose to pursue it. Call me when you can help me. Long story short....6 months go by and I get a phone call. We have a therapist who agrees to work with you. I go back to therapy for a case review and to meet my new therapist. By our third session she was recommending drugs. I flipped out and started in on her.....told her that she got me back in therapy under false pretense. I left that day and never went back. This video hit really hard...but was a bit therapeutic in it's own right. At least I am not alone....it's not just me.... Thanks for posting this video. Gave me a good hard cry that I definitely needed. May you find peace my brother. John B.

@@TormentedVet_Reactions I would also like to add ; that I am not saying in any way, that pharmaceutical products are not helpful. I've seen this song reacted to many times and it never fails to make me angry seeing those stats and i always wonder how that even happens. I've been around military people for as long as i can remember, I even remember an Army Drill Sergeant I had as a substitute teacher when i was in elementary school who was amazing. I'm sure that there have been several of the military people I've been around that had PTSD but i was never afraid of any of them. They were the people I actually felt the safest being around. As a kid they always reminded me of puppies, the fluffy ones, so I kina dubbed all the military people around me Fluffies and I told them as such. And really yall still remind me of puppies even now that I'm grown. Even with everything yall deal with daily yall are still friendly, still have time for other people and their feelings and still do things to help others no matter the cost to yourselves. Yall make it clear every day that yall are the most human people there are in this world because yall are the ones that care about others the most. And I'm so grateful people like you exist in the world and I appreciate yall always being there for serious stuff and for not so serious stuff like trying to figure out the best BBQ flavor. So this civilian says Thank you to you and all the other Fluffies who have served yall are amazing people who deserve so much more and better than you receive.

If you are with a combat vet, always remember that a lot of them don't like being in extremely crowded and loud environments. I took an Army buddy of mine who deployed to the Kosovo war in the 1990's to a concert and he handled the crowd for about half the show, but it eventually was too much for him and he had to remove himself for a while. Just remember that they saw things that we couldn't even imagine and certain things can trigger the PTSD.

I came up with an idea what the government should do is have housing for veterans when they get out for a minimum of 3 to 4 years and if you have ptsd or any other things going on you can stay longer I feel like it would help the veterans help them get used to civilian life because I feel like we don't do enough for veterans ever and that if the government went to do this it would help so many I would think make housing that is free to veterans for x amount of years based on mental and physical aspects so for instance if you just get out standard is 3 to 4 years if you have ptsd 7 to 8 years etc so on and so on ... thank you for bringing awareness to this

I sadly lost 3 of my veteran buddies this year do to suicide. Makes you wonder what do them classes even do that they force you to go through for suicide prevention. I simply dont understand it. You think about it, like i know it happens but it doesnt happen to me. Until it does, and man does it suck.

They don't want to throw pills at everybody. If they had the resources, they'd offer everyone individual care, specially tailored to their needs. It's just that throwing pills at everybody is the only thing that (kinda) works that they can afford.

All of those terrible statistics about how are veterans are dealt with but we throw billions at people illegally invading our own country. I watched other kids occasionally throwing fireworks near and old man. I wish we could have listened to his story he was a WW 1 veteran USMC 91-00

Honestly the best way to start is to just start recording what you are passionate about. You will learn over time what you should or shouldn’t do. Also make sure you brush up the the terms of service.

I hate videos like this, don’t take this the wrong way, I understand they are made by well meaning people trying to help, but there is no help. You are either at peace with what you’ve done, you find a reason to drive on, or you don’t. When your in it, your reason is your brothers, when it’s over it’s your family. For me, it’s not so much dealing with the demons anymore, but I’ve only been able to overcome them because I have a wife and daughter that depend on me and distract me from dwelling on them. I wouldn’t be here without them.

I don’t feel that the video was made so much as to help anything as it was to help spread awareness about the things that combat veterans deal with.
