Look how straight this big powerful machine is going. At the 4:00 mark of the video the operator is not struggling with the machine, even when the right side of the bucket is in deep older snow. Older snow becomes more compact, and this machine is handling it with ease. Try this with an auto steer snow blower with the ease of this trigger steer Toro. If anyone is wondering how well the Toro commercial snow blowers work, this video makes it abundantly clear. Great job Enthusiasts Garage.

True story! This thing is a beast! I’ve cleared my driveway with 200’ of sidewalk and 3 other neighbors driveways and still make it back inside drinking hot cocoa in an hour or less. 👍

Works just fine for most people. And it will never freeze up like cables can, but it does need to be setup properly. Both will do the job. More personal preference than anything.

Great video! I just went to my local Toro Dealer and put my order in for a Power Max HD commercial 1432. Should get it late summer or early fall. Not sure when Toro starts to build their new model year machines? I researched every machine and the pros and cons of all the other commercial grade machines. Power steering verses trigger control, controls, lights power and so on. One of the biggest pros for Toro, is the quick stick shoot control. No other snow thrower has anything like it. And least not a manual one that will not cost a fortune to replace or fix if it ever goes bad. That was one of the biggest reasons I opted to go with the Toro. After watching your videos, I have no doubt I made the right choice. Also, when I get mine, if first gear is too fast, I will adjust it like you did. One plus by doing that, reverse it a tad quicker and that is a good thing. Really enjoyed your videos, very informative and very well done. It is time to think spring and cutting and maintaining the property. Blessings to everyone, have a blessed summer and don't forget to use Sea Foam in all your machines. It has been around for many years and is a great fuel stabilizer and cleaner for your cab or fuel injection. I use it in everything with great results.

Love watching the Toro 1432 blow that deep snow. Last winter was my first time trying out my Toro Power Max HD 1232. In late February we got hit with 9 inches of heavy wet snow. This was the test I was waiting for to see how well this machine would handle this kind of snow. After an hour or so blowing this slop, not once did the machine even hit of clogging. The blowing distance was 40 to 50'. I was not expecting that kind of performance in such heavy wet snow. After adjusting the forward drive speed to a crawl in first gear and removing the excessively strong tension spring on the drive lever this machine works extremely well. One does not have to completely remove the drive lever tension spring like I did, you can just remove the spring out of the grove on the lever and this will take care of the spring tension issue. The lower spring near the gear box is plenty strong enough to lift the lever after releasing it. This fix cuts the tension on the lever in half. Toro needs to make a change on the drive lever spring, the tension is excessive.

Love watching your videos! Makes me look forward to using mine in about 10 months or so. From what I understand, Toro switches back over to winter equipment about this time of the year. So, when I get a foot or more of snow this coming season, I will be ready to deal with it. Live in lower mid-eastern MI and if conditions are right, we can get hit pretty hard with snow. I still like the idea of trigger steer over the auto steer. I have read complaints about fighting the auto steer in certain situations. Commercial machines are big and heavy, and the last thing I want to do is struggle with a 300 LB snow thrower. Just a simple tap on the trigger is all it takes to keep it going in the right direction. And when you're at the end of a row you just pull the trigger and the machine spins around without any effort. I like that idea. As I watched your videos, I could tell you had no problems even in deep snow spinning around to start another row. When not using my snowplow on the sub compact tractor, I use my trusty 1980 Toro 524 snow blower that I have had sense new. The only thing I have had to do to the machine is regular maintenance. I did put a carb kit in it several years ago and changed the fuel lines. Using Sea Foam really helps with keeping carbs and fuel injection machines running well. It works well in two cycle engines too. Most lawn companies use it in all their equipment.

Great video. I am finally upgrading from my Toro 826 LE up to the 1428. Expecting crate delivery as early as tomorrow. Then I will actually want a big snow storm. The Canadian winters should put it to work.

You can change the speed of first gear by adjusting the drive cable but it will change the speed of all the gears which should not be a big thing because you will seldom blow snow in top gear.

I love my Toro Power Max HD 1232, but one thing that bothers me along with everyone else who operates one of these Power Max HD machines is the left drive lever tension. After running the machine for any length of time one's hand becomes fatigued due to the strong tension of the spring. I ordered a replacement OEM tension spring, and I am going to put some heat to it and see if I can take some tension out of the spring. The spring only cost 2.97 and if I can decrease some of the tension that will be an easy fix for me and everyone else. This may work or it may not, but for 2.97 I am willing to give it a try. I could not find any change from Toro concerning this over tension of the drive lever spring. If anyone has, please let me and others know. The original Part # Toro Commercial 120-3060 SPRING-TORSION I will keep everyone posted if heating the spring will make any difference.

Just want everyone to know, the 120-3060 SRING-TORSION is NOT the correct part for newer Toro HD left drive lever. Sorry for the bad information.

I have a 14/32 as well and one pet peeve I have is the slowest forward speed is a little too fast. When you want to creep forward in extremely deep or compacted snow and ice the first gear is too fast and you have to constantly ease off on the drive lever. It’s a big snowblower and not for a first time buyer. It requires an experienced operator especially if you are clearing snow in tight squeezes or near sensitive objects ie. car doors and bumpers. It takes off really fast.

Great video. The Toro Power Max HD 1432 commercial wheeled machine is a beast for sure. I have the HD 1232 and it is also a very powerful machine. It was a simple adjustment on the shifting rod to slow the machine down so first gear will crawl along. My biggest complaint and it is really the only one, is that the drive lever spring has way too much tension when pressed down. After holding it down for some time, your hand becomes fatigued. The spring needs to be half the tension strength that it is. I am going to look into some kind of fix for this bad design. Anyone have a good solution for this?

After carful consideration, and experience with the quick stick, I just purchased the 1232 version. I bought this from my local dealer and I’m my opinion after looking at the box store prices on other brands with comparable ratings these TOROS are not priced to far off I think the TORO is a good value for the money.

They are definitely a good value for money. Unfortunately inflation is starting to kick in and the prices have gone up significantly.

Why did you get wheels over track? I have a gravel DW and do some grass so i leave a half inch or a little less gap under scraping edge, so somtimes after driving over that snow left from the gap it melts then freezes . Are the wheels able to over comeing the ice with a slight grade on both sides of a rise in my drivway say a 1 foot rise over a 40 foot distance. My wife wants to learn to operate the blower incase somthing happenens to me .shes 5' 4" and mid 60's. Great rig ,and vid!!

Hello, I am looking to get a new snowblower. I currently have a Honda 1332 which I used to be able to move around like it was nothing. I’m now 75 years old and no longer a kid, but not ready for an old age home by any means. I always like the biggest, baddest with all the bells and whistles. No what I would like to know: would you think the machine would be too much to handle or can I handle it without any major issues? This is a difficult question since you truly do not know me, please attempt to try and let me know if I’d have difficulties. If so, what/where do you feel I would find it to be an issue.thank you.

Hi, I don’t like that the cables are exposed at the triggers, I heard this can freeze up. It’s looks like you keep it in a garage but some people don’t have garages and these cable will freeze up.
@EnthusiastsGarage
@EnthusiastsGarage 3 жыл бұрын
yes that is a possibility but if someone is storing it outside it would be a good idea to do some preventive maintenance and periodically lubricate areas that are susceptible to freezing like cables. i store mine inside a heated garage but i still spray lithium grease down the cables on a regular basis.

Hello, Can you please tell me a bit about how you mad your “U” turns and how you like/dislike the levers for the wheel operations? I have a Honda 1332 Track which I want to replace with this machine. I clear my yard for the dog and am notorious for hitting a ball or toy and breaking shear pins. Have you had your machine stop for a reason which would have broken a shear pin, but were able to clear and continue on? Please explain. Thank you.
@EnthusiastsGarage
@EnthusiastsGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Haven't hit anything big but the toro auger system is hardened to the point that no shear pins are needed. the triggers take some getting used to but it turns very easily.
