For those curious, Honda engines have cylinder deactivation to save fuel when full power isn’t needed only having 3 cylinders run.

この動画を2019年8月に改めて観ると物凄く感慨深い。レッドブルリンクではオーバーヒートでパワーの出ないMercedesをあっさり抜き去りFerrariとホイールトゥホイールでガチバトルで審議になるも優勝。2戦後のホッケンハイムでは全ドライバーがクレイジーと表現するほど大荒れになるもチームの総合力で優勝。トロロッソも3位表彰台という快挙、その表彰台にMercedesは居なかった。

なんだか、ホンダは往年のレースカーみたいなアイドル音だなぁ。味があっていい！ベンツみたく真っ直ぐで乱れのない音も好きだけど、こういうバリバリした音も好きだ！

got a lot of extra weight in that mercedes in the size, but when you look how much more the Mercedes can accelerate air to that rear diffuser its like one giant venturi effect easy to see why it struggles at monaco even with the best power unit but on most circuits more aero and power are much more important

wow every few seconds you can tell a change in the tone. i believe thats the engine switching to the other 3 cylinders while idling. idles 3 at a time

この年の(2018年)トロロッソ生で見たけど、最近エンジン音が小さいとかみんな言ってるのが何故かわからないくらい爆音で、BRRRRTTTって音が男のロマンを感じたしやっぱりホンダはすごいって思った

I liked the Honda engine sound, mainly from the turbine sound at 0:48. On the other hand, Mercedes has a slow gear with a much more balanced sound, which shows that it is a more robust engine.

Actually I agree with you, the Honda engine sounds like a wild animal, it's kind of a very raw sound, as it has a personality. But Mercedes engine sounds good too, very stable and smooth sound, just like a perfect machine.
