I first discovered Toro y Moi in 2010 ~ back then I used to sleep with MTV on and there was this amazing segment they used to do late at night with music videos ~ I remember waking up out of my sleep and a Toro video was on ~ I think it might have been Talamak ~ I felt like I was in a waking dream ~ the sounds, the visuals, everything ~ very surreal ~ I fell in love 🦋 I had the honor of seeing Toro live twice in Atlanta ~ back when The Masquerade was a thing ~ I remember standing near the stage before the show got started ~ he was playing downstairs (hell) they were setting up and Chaz came out to help ~ I screamed out of shock from seeing him in person ~ he smiled and it embarrassed me ~ but I felt that same surreal feeling 🦋 and with each album release I’ve been grateful ~ Chaz is one of my favorite musicians of all time ~ if you’re reading this just know that you have been a major influence in my life for the past 9 years ~ I’ve made friends with people just from mutually loving and being inspired by YOUR work 🦋 you’ve helped me find my voice and my style, as an individual and as an artist ~ you’ve shown me that being quiet and taking creative risks helps with building the goals I have for myself artistically, as a writer, poet, film maker and visionary 🦋 Without your work, I wouldn’t be here today, pursuing my dreams with confidence ~ I truly hope 2019 brings you more abundance ~ good health ~ more strength and inspiration to make more moving music, eye~pleasing visuals and such 🦋 you’ve got such a great talent and skill ~ and I’d like to just say thank you for paving the way for a quiet yet wildly eccentric Atlanta-native like me 🦋 I’ll be here every step of the way, in spirit, cheering you on and sending you love and light ~ I’m eager to see what you bring us in 2019 & beyond. Saw him on his first tour of UK, the guitarist broke a string on the electric guitar, they reorganised all the remaining songs in a different ket, as they did not have a replacement string. Spoke with him afterwards - really love fella and a little genius IMO

Didn't even know who Toro Y Moi was until 2017, like I was literally going through a breakup and going through a time in my life where I didn't know what was real, depressed lost and tethering...i put in youtube and in my recommended on KZfaq, like if GOD himself put it there for me, was the Visual Stream of Boo Boo on the Carpark channel. I don't even remember why I clicked it butman that first 00:10 seconds put me in a stream, every song...like literally every song on Boo Boo, was basically what was happening to me in 2018 in when it got to the end, when Inside My Head and W.I.W.W.T.W." plus Be played..I was healed. The rest of the year and 2018-19, I got a good paying job, found my passion, found the love of my life and my life has been better..sorry for the mini review...but I am all for the next album from Toro Y Moi...thank you Chaz, thank you Toro...thank you for saving me.
