Torres' pace was already compromised because of a major knee injury in 2010 when chelsea bought him

True, but football is not only about the speed. Torres was still world class, just could not fit in Chelsea. We all know that it is hard for any striker to fit in at Chelsea. Torres definitely showed his class at Chelsea though.

Injuries. He was rushed back from injuries too many times and this effected his speed, it effected his confidence in his body and it effected his confidence in front of goal.

Ppl forget he was coming from an injury. Maybe it had to do with confidence and part fitness. He still had alot to do with Chelsea winning the CL in terms of taking them to the final and scoring vs the best team in the world atm Barcelona.

He was my favorite player and when he moved to Chelsea (my favorite team) I was over the moon. Shame he never reached the same heights he did in Liverpool. He did win trophies at Chelsea though hahaha! Not quite a Chelsea legend but definitely a cult favorite. El Niño 🔥

It was because of one event as far as I know. When he had injury and went through quick treatment to participate in 2010 world cup for Spain. The quick treatment was only temporary solution, not long term one for the injury. Later it payed off.

He was still good in the 2009-2010 season so that isn’t true It was only his last few months when he lost form after the World Cup

He was still goodnin 09/10....even though we got 7th iirc.....his injury was due to pushing to come back to playing too early because he wanted thr WC trophy ..fair play...it was a gamble as he won it with Spain.

Quite similar to what happened to Umtiti but for the fact that Torres eventually regained some of his quality, which Umtiti never did after the 2018 WC. Anyway, both won the WC so I guess it was worth it for them haha@@myownlilbubble

Won The FA Cup, UCL and UEL with Chelsea...cannot be that bad. Not even 50% of what he was with Liverpool but he won the lot. And he cut his long blond hair which took away the aura with him. Injuries didnt help.

He was past his best, as simple as that. The whole Chelsea team was built for him in a given season and he still could not perform at a world class level
