My top pick for hobs. The things you don't like about them are the same things I don't like. The red clip on the mesh bag I started putting on with the smaller end over the little catches on the other piece and I haven't had one fall off since. The leveling piece does fall off, I'm just glad they still work not level 😅. Being able to replace every part was a big selling point for me since they're not cheap. Love my 110.

So a lot of people swear by the aqua clear series. I had some but moved over to the title series. I love the pump being in the tank no priming needed. And the media basket locks down. Where I had issues with aqua clear baskets rising up. But it a personal preference both filters do a great job at filtering and both have good and bad points.

I've used various Aqua Clear filters for years and presently have one running on my 50 gal tank with my bushy nose plecos. It's amazing how much fish waste it picks up. Big plus for this brand of filters is the size of the filter media compartment and how simple it is to modify/add more media if you choose to do so, like your scrubbies. Too bad they're a bit pricey side but you do get what you pay for.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great filters. Just wish we could get them here. One thing the Tidals have over them is the Tidals are self priming which is a big point for me. If the ACs did that they'd be far and away the best. Nice review mate.

Haven’t had an aquarium setup since the nineties. I used Aquaclear back then and loved it, had no issues whatsoever.

I replaced all ACs with Tidals or Marinelands. My OLD ACs did restart, newer ones don't. Came home to too many HOT or dead motors. And yes water was full to rim of tanks. And the ACs overflow easily if filter maintenance is skipped (life does happen sometimes!) Tidals & Marineland have never ever overflowed or stopped or had any issues.

The ten minutes of rainforest sounds at the end was very calming. I have only one small HOB filter, and find the water trickle to be a little annoying sometimes. Have you ever tried anything to quiet one down? I was thinking of perhaps extending the spout to below the waterline somehow? 🤔

Nice video. They are great filters BUT all of them i had, the lids rattled after a while and they did not restart after a power blip. If the pump was in the tank like the tidals id probably use them again.

It is a great filter but the only thing I don't like about it is when your tank is in a bedroom or living room it spills the water out so far above the water line of the tank that it makes too much noise like a waterfalls, it's a big filter for a big tank but when I use it on my 125 I would have to fill the tank up a quarter of an inch from the glass canopy so the water is up to the outflow of the filter to quiet it down so I can sleep, I don't fill my tanks up that high because your big fish will hit their heads on either the glass canopy or the divider trim at the top of the tank, the filter is big and it's obviously made for larger tanks so I think they should either make it's outflow a little lower so it's closer to the waters surface or make an attachment that you can snap on the filter to lower it's output/overflow closer to the waterline, to compensate I bought a new filter pad for the filter and cut it in half lengthwise and put it in between the glass canopy and the filters output and made the filter pad extend just into the water line and that seems to quiet the noise down 95%

I hate aqua clear had nothing but trouble with them waisted about $300 on their junk.

the leveling tab is absolutely useless. I use a piece of styrofoam instead to level it. works perfectly! where this filter shines is the bio capacity and it is very modular. I use 1 inch coarse pad, 1/2 inch fine pad, HUGE bag of bio media and finally a small bag of crushed coral. works perfect 💪
