Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Fantastic pick as it has horror, comedy, and characters that are immediately likeable.

I really liked it and Olivia Holt was perfectly cast to play a young Julie Bowen.

One thing that bothered me is why Jamie's mom (and her dad) doesn't seem to remember her when she comes back at the end. She doesn't realize the friend that helped her catch a killer back in high school looks just like her teenage daughter? She questions why Jamie has a bloody face. Meanwhile her best friend's mom clearly remembers her...

I like these 80's classics mixed with horror that Blumhouse has been having fun with. Kind of like horror parody. Happy Death Day-Groundhogs Day Freaky-Freaky Friday Totally Killer-Back to the Future

I love when they pick an existing trope and mix it with a slasher film. Both Happy Death Day and Freaky are awesome so this cant fail.

More fun than scary? The Frighteners is my go to. Insanely good movie that I think gets forgotten.

Happy Death Day to You is still one of my fav funny horrors. It has some not entirely fulfilling plot points, but Jessica Roth is perfect in it.

I honestly paused this video early on to watch this movie because you said it was streaming. I fucking loved it. The lead was great, I enjoyed the jokes on the 80s, loved the pink mist callback. It was a great time, a bit silly, but with like a fun premise. The actors portraying all the 80s kids were delightful. I rate this movie as a rewatch and recommend.

This movie was oddly intriguing and the concept a serial killer with time travel aspect was a pretty good premise

The mask is an unholy union of Max Headroom & Billy Idol - earring, the one cocked up eyebrow. One of Idol's biggest hits was "Sweet Sixteen".

Cabin in the Woods is my go to movie for a fun scary movie. I loved the premise. But Tucker and Dale vs Evil is also up there for me. Hilarious.

Freaky with Vince Vaughn is my all time favorite comedy horror movie. It's so stupid but it's so fun and Vince Vaughn does an amazing job (so does Kathryn Newton, Vaughn just stands out to me because I usually can't stand him).

To this day still love watching Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon It's such a weird mockumentry on the slasher films and why everything is a stereotype. Including coming back from the dead.

It was fun. Acting was great and that always makes slasher comedies more fun. Glad I saw it.

If you enjoyed this film, watch "Take Me Home Tonight". Also a awesome comedy but not a horror with a A list cast and takes place in the 80's. It's so under rated

8-Legged Freaks is an insanly underrated horror spoof that's more funny than scary.

I watched it last night. I grew up in the 80s and I was cracking up here and there at how crazy things were compared to now. Like when she ran over to stop a bully from picking on a kid and how the bully reacted left her confused af. That was the 80s and 90s.

My fun pick is Dog Soldiers, which is mostly as funny as it is because of the banter that feels genuine to the characters being soldiers (rather than just there to get a laugh. That movie should not work as well as it does.

This movie sounds like a fun time, even without being drunk (although I'm biased on that because I don't drink 😆). Another more-fun-than-scary one is "Shaun of the Dead", a lovely mix of zombie horror and romantic/buddy/family comedy.

Trick r Treat has always been one of my favorites, it's a fun watch dark humor throughout and has some scary moments. It's one of my yearly watches.

Just seen the trailer for this today, I was getting "Freaky" vibes from it.

Questions: 1. Wouldn't young Pam die after flying off the quantum drop when Jamie opened the door? 2. How was Jamie charging her cell phone in 1987? 3. When Chris was killed in the quantum drop and adult Pam came back to life, what were her memories? Would she remember her friends' murders the way they originally happened or would she remember the time travel version?

My thing at the end, if she comes the day before her mum is killed, wouldnt there be two Jamies?, for instance they did mention if Jamie's parents are killed, she can still go back to the future, just no one would know her existence, PS loved the movie, especially the quote that the mother who helped her had to wait 35 years to find out who won which is an awesome idea as I have never seen that explored in time travel movies

There seems to be a little subgenre developing of small, indie, off-beat horror comedies. Happy Death Day, Freaky etc. They are usually pretty fun and are good for Halloween rewatches

My thing with the film is that I believe she went to a completely different reality from the one she left. For instance, we saw that when she left things kept moving along without her obviously. I believe in her original reality she’s missing and her friend is still dead. She changed so many things when she went back that her new future is different from the one she left, like telling her mom different things and killing both killers. So now she literally can’t go to her reality anymore because multiple people that are alive in her reality are killed in the past changing everything in their town. One sign of this is that the amusement park she comes back to isn’t lit up and taken care of like the one she came from… it’s abandoned. I would’ve liked to see something about this in the film. Her mom at least should’ve recognized her a little and maybe made a joke about how she looks like someone she knew or is wearing something like someone she knew.

Most positive good time if drunk review I think I've seen from Jeremy, I know said rating can be positive anyway, but others usually are more negative to the films while this time his flaws were more minor.

I thought it was fun, but I keep the bar set pretty low for slashers. That way, I'm almost always pleasantly surprised! Would definitely add this to my Halloween annual watch list with Scream, Sleepaway Camp, and all those other slasher classics!

Trick or Treat. Has a good mix of creepiness but also genuine Halloween festivity.

Speaking of Time Traveling and Slasher movies, I just got a great idea. I haven't seen Totally Killer, so this might be the plot though. But imagine a slasher movie where, similarly to this one, a slasher kills a bunch of people and then disappear. The two only survivors of the attack bonds and later starts dating and get married and have a child. The child grows up and accidentally time travels back to that previous slasher era, and realizes that SHE is the slasher. So she now have to either go on a murderous rampage, or her parents will probably never meet and she'll cease to exist. Basically a psychotic version of the first Back to the Future movie.

I've only seen a trailer for this one. Definitely looks like a fun romp, with the "time travel" aspect and the way they make fun of some of the slasher movie tropes. May catch this one when its out on DVD/Blu-Ray.

I really liked the look look of the killer, definitely max Hedrum- Duke Nukem thing going, which ends up making sense. And the 16 stabbing obviously was 16 candles a Molly Ringwold connection, all in all, I to thought it was a great flick

I came to watch this movie with low expectation/s despite the high scores from its reviews. But I enjoyed it ngl. The comedic timing of the main protagonist is just so good!! Love her! 👌🏼

This October will be Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Shaun of the Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness for me.

My go-to fun horror movies are The Cabin In The Woods, Tucker And Dale Vs. Evil, and to an extent the Scream movies (they do have some effective scares)

I wouldn't say I loved it, but I had quite a lot of fun with it. The time machine bit was dumb, though. They should have just done a Happy Death Day, not bother explaining the pseudo-scientific mechanics of how it all works and just roll with it. They were definitely caricaturizing the 80s from the perspective of an up-tight Zoomer, and that did provide a few good moments (I loved the dodgeball and pot browny moments), but the fact the movie held up a mirror to the protagonist at all is commendable. It was entertaining to watch the 80s people tell her how much of a dork she is. Kinda felt like a mix of Back to the Future, Happy Death Day, and either Halloween or Scream. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it to everybody, nor do I think it was spectacular, but it was a genuinely good, fun movie. Worth checking out if you have Prime and want some dumb fun. My favorite horror comedies are probably Tuck & Dale vs. Evil, Scream (much funnier than I expected when I saw it), Cabin in the Woods, Happy Death Day, and Evil Dead 2.

I really liked how little effort went into the time-machine. They gave just enough to make it believable in the movie's world, and didn't spend any extra time trying to explain it or how it works. "My mom started making this machine back in the 80's but gave up, and now I'm picking up where she left off" is just enough, seeing as the movie's tone is already a little wacky.

You've got to check out 'The Final Girls' with Taissa Farmiga. It's 'Friday the 13th' meets 'Last Action Hero'.

I just watched it and I loved it. It's neat little mash-up of Back to the Future, Scream and Hot Tub Time Machine with enough little twists to make it it's own thing. It's tongue in cheek and I thought it was hilarious. Lots of call backs and references to various films. People not familiar with at least the three films mentioned may or may not like it depending on what kind of mood they are in. It's only weakness is because it's trying to juggle elements from those three films and can end up feeling like it lacks focus. Hence why the killer is not too fleshed out. But given the scale of what it's trying to do I can overlook that.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is not only a perfect horror comedy but also one of the best horror sequels ever made (to me). The poster is the Sawyer family sitting like the kids in the Breakfast Club poster. Also Dennis Hopper? Watch this movie!

If you're looking for a new release to review I would love it if you checked out It Lives Inside. It's an indie horror that I worked on 2 years ago. It went through some reshoots that might have changed what it was supposed to be. I was surprised when it got a theatrical release, and I feel like there's been worse movies this year that got more attention.
