I dont play any totalwar game, but i have watched this trailer over 20 times .

The lyrics on the beginning is 十五从军征，八十始得归 (I joined the army to fight when I was 15, and finally I returned home at my 80s.). 1:32 I love how Guan Yu knowingly and habitually puts out his arm to stop the predictably brash Zhang Fei. It is such a small detail lasting for less than a second but it tells so much about their brotherly relationship and goes to show that the devs have done their research - they know their stuff.

The only minor critique/nitpick I have for this trailer is the scene with Cao Cao. Since this happened during the time Dong Zhuo had the young emperor, Cao Cao is still only a minor minister/warlord and would most definitely NOT have an actual palace with dragon coiled pillars. It would have been more fitting if he went inside an army camp.

Great game, weakened by buggy dlc's, abandoned by the developer for little to no reason, and as a veteran of video gaming for over 20 years all I can say is this if the first game I can truly say became less in every iteration via dlc compared to it's launch. Such a shame, Such regret, Shame on CA for their fatuous manifestation of the future of such greatness.

Getting a total war trailer 8 months before it comes out is like a getting a christmas present december 26 that you cant open till next year

During my youth, I played almost all the Dynasty Warrior games, it was my life, from those games I learned so much about the war of the three kingdoms and it is an epic tale indeed, now my all time favourite strategy game franchise is teaming up with my favourite game of my childhood, or the story at least. Yes i just came in my pants.

I dont know how theyre going to interpret the heroes. Lu Bu had to be captured while he blacked out drunk, cause in lore he was a one man killing machine. Zhang Fei was killed in his sleep, cause he was held a bridge single handedly against Cao Cao's pursuit forces. Xiahou Dun took an arrow into his eye in the middle of battle, pulled out said arrow with his eye and ate it, before yelling at his men to continue the charge.

Well I stand no choice of pronouncing ANYTHING correctly in this Total War Game lol! Three Kingdoms HYPE!

China is a perfect setting for total war and an under appreciated area in history! I personally excited for the three kingdoms!

10 months since i watched this, and towards the end it still makes me smile, this was my childhood story, my chinese equivalent to the english's Harry Potter

I'm more excited about China: Total War than any previous title. I didn't think it would be done.

Will be interesting to see how CA intends to diversify the units of different lords/factions. Some factions have well-known expertise like Sun family will be better at naval and the Ma family will be better at calvary (not just because their surname is Ma). But its not enough just to add bonuses, else it will end up as another Shogun II. Unique units will be good. Like the Nanman tribes might have access to elephant units and the Sun family have unique naval units and Liu can have access to repeating crossbow units (although that will be high up in the tech tree since its invented by Kong Min)

You can tell Total War: Warhammer has boosted some much needed funds into CA. Total War Britannia, Three Kingdoms, as well as all the support for Warhammer 2. They've really stepped it up a notch!

I have stated since Shogun 2 (2011) that Total War needs to do a game on Ancient China. I argued the Official Forums, Commented on Videos and told all my friends the merrits of such a game for years. I can't help but this is in a small part a fruit of my labors. It's an exciting period. And not a well understood one by the masses. How many Total War games have quoted Sun Tzu all the while never being represented by one of the great Grand Strategy Franchises in PC Gaming.

i'm a big enthusiast about the warring states period with the qin dynasty taking over the middle earths, oh how i wish for a warring states total war game 🥲

I hope the heroes will be featured as buffed-up general/bodyguard units with some in-battle/strategic map traits rather than single-model entities like in Total War Warhammer. Maybe make Lu Bu have a friendly morale buff and enemy fear aura but not any strategic benefits b/c Lu Bu wasn't known to be a strategist, while perhaps making Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi not so strong as a combat unit but grant increased army movement range in the strategic map, reduced ability cooldown for units in their armies, or a much larger deployment zone or option to partially pre-deploy reinforcing armies at the beginning of battles to reflect their tactical and strategic genius.

I remember back in time when this first came out and we were all hyped for it to release eventually, or atleast see some leaks, ahhhhhh, good times.

Swear i've been waitin for this ever since i played Shogun 2.... Remember when my friend once said "u think the scale of samurai battles were epic? they were just skirmishes of a few thousand compared to the hundreds of thousands during the 3 Kingdoms Era, and this was a good 1500 years before." If this kinda scale is gonna be recreated, I'm gonna need a new computer...

This literally make me cry, as my childhood grew up with Romance of The Three kingdoms from KOEI back in 1992, and makes me read the novel, to learn more about three kingdoms period, and as long time fans of total war series since shogun 1, this one is like dreams come true!!!!

I know it's an art design thing but I love how a western developer makes the Chinese Look more Asian than Dynasty Warriors ever did.

Total War: THREE KINGDOMS trailers are just so good. I wish Warhammer have trailers were like this. I know they did it once with the Norsca, I hope they would do more.

Highly expecting this epic game. Please make it right and amazing. Koei should have been challenged a long time ago. The real historical background is so deep, I learnt a lot of life-long lessons from the book that serves me so well for 3.5 decades. Many characters even low ranked advisers were very noble and honest to their beliefs and end up died in the saddest yet most meaningful ways.A lot of Japanese and Chinese gamers love 3KD . Really love more and more games from different angles coming out to give us some new experience of this age. This can easily be a new great series of TW if done right.Hope Autumn comes sooner!!!

I've been waiting for THIS GAME for my whole life, DW4 was one of my first PS2 games and I feel in love with all things Three Kingdoms, and I started with TW at Medieval 1 and this THIS GAME HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR 15 years!!!!! THOU WE ARE BROTHERS BORN ON DIFFRENT DAYS WE SWEAR AN OATH TO DIE THE SAME DAY OF THE SAME MONTH OF THE SAME YEAR!!!!!!

Legend has it they are still battling to this day... That fight gave me the chills for some reason though

That sequence at the end is straight from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel. When Lu Bu (who serves the fat guy), appears for the first time to the Three brothers (the spear, glaive and sword), Zhang Fei the spear guy charges first but gets stomped. The glaive, Guan Yu, then runs to gank Lu Bu and also gets stomped. Even when the sword, Liu Bei, joined in it was a stalemate. Love that nod to the lore CA!
