I know there was lots of turmoil in the band when Jean-Michel Byron was lead vocalist, but this song will always be one of my favorites from Toto.

Jeff complete machine one of my favorite Drummers ever can do those 🥁 so well and helped a many it suxs he died 2years later after this groovy song.Steve the backbone should be mention list of categories of Great Guitarists in history and his Vocals part of Toto with the others indeed included makes Toto standout.1990 the beginning of the end for me the 90s came and started the pinnacle 89 but its close give or take when a new decade starts maybe the first few months could class that

@@katharsis3754 ese "desprecio" es un tanto justificable, porque a lo que tengo entendido comenzó a comportarse cómo diva cuando empezó a ganar fama, por eso es que lo echaron de la banda, y además por el rango vocal que muchas veces en vivo no daba la talla en ciertas canciones como si lo hicieron Bobby y Joseph

Toto is my favorite band ever. I'm generally not a fan of the Byron era but this song is one of the best from that era. Jeff and Mike made this song really stand out to me.

@@anchorpoint3631 Era un muy buen vocalista. Pero el tema es que TOTO era una banda de amigos. Y cuando llamaban a alguien para reemplazar, era alguien que ellos elegían y conocían. En el caso de Byron lo eligió la discográfica y se los impuso. Eso generó inconformidad en la banda y se notaba. Lukather recuerda en un video su cara cuando lo vio subir al escenario con un guante en una mano como MJ.

When this song came out, I can't believe it wasn't one of my favorites at the time. Now, I can't get enough of it. Toto is my favorite band of all time. I've never been all that sure of it, but I've come to that realization. For me, it all started with the Hydra album (specifically, 99)

I remember being 3 years old when this first came out and my dad had a VHS tape of all of their videos. He would play it every time he vacuum and dusted the whole house and I would sit there and watch it from beginning to end.

Es increíble lo que generan los artistas, aún después de irse del mundo terrenal, nos siguen cautivando con su arte. el arranque de este monumental tema la batería a cargo de Jeff Porcaro y luego la magistral intervención de Mike Porcaro hacen la introducción de una canción llena de energía en la que todo el grupo lo disfruta, Monumental!! @@alan31633 correcto, TOTO fue muy critica por musicos y criticos, hasta donde he leido es por que no tener un genero musical definido, fueron una banda que experimentaba con muchos estilos, en lo personal creo que ese fue el principal motivo por el que tuvieron exito.

@@georgemirrow Leí lo mismo, también leí que a ellos no les gustaba dedicarse a un sólo género, que eso los aburría, de hecho por eso el nombre de Toto (Jeff lo dijo en una entrevista), viene del latín totus que significa "todo", porque eso es lo que mejor define a Toto, hacer de todo. Los críticos fueron y siguen siendo malos con ellos sin razón, tal vez en parte por eso no tienen el reconocimiento que merecen, pero su talento ha podido más. Aún hoy se habla de Jeff y Mike, los que quedan siguen haciendo grandes conciertos, han influenciado en la música y a otros grandes músicos. A Toto se le debe gran parte del sonido de los 80's y parte de los 90's. Por algo Steve Lukather es el guitarrista favorito de Quincy Jones y él y Michael Jackson lo contrataron junto a los Porcaro y a Paich para el álbum Thriller (colaboraron con casi la mitad del álbum). Del selecto grupo de músicos de sesión más exitosos y prolíficos, y como grupo, más de 40 años de carrera. Los críticos pudieron hacerlos trizas, aún hoy en día salen artículos haciéndolo, pero a ellos nadie los conoce. Por eso dicen que los críticos son personas frustradas.

@@insertenickaqui Muy bien dicho amigo! Cabe recalcar que Steve Porcaro escribio y compuso la cancion "Human Nature" del disco Thriller. Jeff, Steve Lukather, David Paich y el mismo Steve Porcaro grabaron el tema que hasta el dia de hoy sigue siendo uno de los temas mas reconocidos a nivel mundial. Y por si fuera poco, colaboraron en Thriller mientras terminaban su propio disco "Toto IV" que pues bueno, igual sigue siendo uno de los discos mas destacados a nivel mundial que ofrecio exito tras exito y diferentes estilos musicales. Honestamente, como esta banda no hay dos en todos los sentidos musicales. Maestro's de la musica.
