My season ticket has gone up £15 since 2019, and next season it will go up another £59. That's £74 over 6 years, or about 1.2% per season. Given how much the price of everything has gone up, is it that bad? Not really (assuming it doesn't go up again next season of course). Having said that, is the money gained from ST price increases a drop in the ocean for a club with the revenues of Spurs? Yes. Could they find other ways to generate revenue that doesn't come out of the pockets of match-going fans? Definitely. Removing senior concessions is absolutely disgraceful.

Season Ticket holder here. A price increase above RPI is ridiculous. What’s more concerning is the new statutory terms that are being introduced with them from 24/25. Seat utilisation, meaning STH’s must attend at least 15/19 games per season or their ST is revoked from them. This is very concerning. Ali - can you please share further information on this at your next video. Clarity on whether Ticket Exchange applies to this? Guidance is not clear. Thank you
@stuartmoore4772 ай бұрын
“As well as attendance in person, a seat will be considered utilised if it is listed for sale on Ticket Exchange or shared with a friend or family member by using Ticket Share or Ticket Upgrade” So basically you need to make sure there’s a bum in your seat for 15 of the 19 games. That can be yours, someone in your network or made available on the ticket exchange. It reads like it doesn’t have to actually sell.

As an oldie who has supported the club for over 50 years I think there's a better way forward. I understand our community is aging and it's not sustainable to continue the discount as it is indefinitely . Why not cap and maintain the 50pc discount to all those that have it now? For anyone reaching 65 from now on apply the lower 25pc discount. Eventually the 50pc's will reduce and disappear. Job done Surely that's a better way than taking something away...

Thanks, Alasdair - a mid-week round up is a very good idea, though hopefully next season there will be mid-week European games to talk about. The rise in season ticket prices is just one extra burden on fans especially those who have to travel any distance e.g. rail fares rose again this week. All the costs that the club state are outside of their control such as utilities, rates and consumables also affect the fans just as much. As an older member I find the reduction of senior concessions particularly galling. Perhaps the club believes that older fans spend less on food, drinks and replica kit than the younger members and therefore feels the need to take more of their (limited) money via ticket prices. Just stinks of greed and it is unacceptable. Good to see the THST voicing their opposition to the proposals.

Cheers Big A. It shouldn’t be a surprise to see increases after numerous years of no change. With everyone demanding high pay increases it aligns to higher costs, sad reality of an inflated market right now. As you rightly say, supply and demand, people will vote with their wallets.

Ticket prices are ridiculous, but the pricing structure is even crazier. I wanted 2 tickets for my dad's birthday, but not only did I need to pay £50 for a membership, my dad would need a membership too because you can only assign 1 ticket per member. That's £100, just to have the privilege to buy an overpriced ticket. What's worse is the membership expires in May anyway. Can't ever see myself going back to Spurs for a league game now.
@guyfranklin38382 ай бұрын
100% agree, i have been a Spurs fan all my life never a season ticket holder, so how does Joe Public get a ticket to a home game against the lesser lights of the league. To pay £100 to be told there is none I tried to get tickets to Everton game and found 7 tickets available none together and would of cost £300 plus for three of us to sit on our own Back in the day i use to turn up and get in, i know thats not the game today but it seems Impossible to get tickets anymore

@@guyfranklin3838 Very sad isn’t it. My dad tells me all about his amazing nights watching us in Europe, and seeing us win FA Cups and UEFA cups, but he knows I’ll never get to witness that live because it’s unaffordable (not that we ever win cups now). Shame that he’s kinda not bothered anymore despite being Spurs since birth. It’s so corporate and cold now.

I really appreciate your comment on how looking at match day prices/increases from other countries and how we may see it so differently. U.S. Spurs fan here and I know when I first heard about what you all have over there, such as Supporters Trusts, I thought wow this is so involve and not sure why, matches are not so expensive. Trying to make it a point to see everything from the perspective of the fans that have had this in their lives much longer than I have and attend matches more regularly definitely made me realize the impact this has on the every week match going fan and how it is quite different than someone like myself who may or may not get the opportunity to hop across the pond and catch a match.

Thank you for the video, Alasdair. As a fan from the US, who has never been able to go to a Spurs game, the ticket price increase does not affect me like it does others. In the US, it is very expensive to attend games, so I don't really go to games often. With everything costing so much these days, it is disappointing to see the club attempt to exploit the long-time supporters. I totally agree with Uli Hoeness's statement and hope that the club learns from their past mistakes. With all the revenue the club have now, there is no excuse for not spending in the summer window. With other clubs having PSR issues, there is a massive opportunity to sign high-level players. Hopefully we can get a win against Villa!

Having recently been proclaimed the richest club in London I find the 6% a bit over the top and I certainly won't be able to afford to go especially when you consider as an OAP I'm getting it twice with the senior's discount vanishing. I could understand an increase if we were in the Champions League next year but we're not guaranteed a place in Europe yet. We don't have a wage bill the size of a Manchester club or some other clubs in London but we never win anything either unlike those clubs or Liverpool. Again we are the richest club in London but the way they act toward the fans with actions like this I understand why people are yelling Levy out, I don't agree with them but I understand why they do it. As for Richarlison good for him, why not try interviewing Richarlison with Emerson Royal. Thanks for the update, even though it is mostly bad news, always appreciate the loan round up, take care of yourself, stay well and enjoy.

Fair play to you for making the most of a limited week of news. And fair play to the Bundasliga for their approach. It only really works because everyone is in the same boat but its the same old pyramid. The "biggest" clubs are more attractive than the lesser ones. Though at least Leverkusen are pushing the envelope this year. Very true about the clubs policy on prices. You cant argue that they froze prices, but whats the difference between the extra ticket revenue vs those from events? But its a sellers market with so many wanting tickets. Just hope we can actually start playing flair football over many games and win something next year. Cheers for another very informative update.

As a senior season ticket holder I am affected by the reduction in discount. To be honest I am not surprised by the 6%, I expected an increase last year, so I am ok with the 6% effectively covering 2 years. My season ticket started with Wembley, and reducing the discount will cost me about £10 a game. This is not unaffordable and so not unhappy, especially if it means we challenge top 3 & Europe - but if I was a very long standing supporter I definitely would be. So I think they should keep the 50% discount for season ticket holders with say more than 3 years paying full pre-senior season tickets as a reward for their long term support.

Little thing you may have missed - Doncaster Rovers have also got Thimothée Lo-Tutala on loan, as well as Matthew Craig. Lo-Tulala was a highly-rated GK for Tottenham, who left in 2022, and went to Hull on a free. So, Craig has joined up with a former teammate from the Youth squad (who's well worth keeping an eye on - if there was any way of keeping him, we should have hung on Lo-Tulala).

As I'm getting uncomfortably near the time when I'd qualify for a seniors season ticket, it's a shame they are changing that! Perhaps they could look at discounts for supporters who have had their season ticket for x number of years (I've had mine since the 1980s). It would be good PR to offer some sort of discount to reward that kind of loyalty... Also if it's impossible for non-season ticket holders to get home tickets, it's equally impossible for season ticket holders to go to the odd away game, it would be great to be part of our wonderful away support just once in a while....

So tricky, trying to look at the balance, because you need to create the capacity for other/ younger fans to go regularly and get a seat, create the atmosphere etc. but hitting the older fans is shocking too. Especially for those who might look at it as their weekly vice etc. If there wasn’t a cost of living crisis on, disproportionately affecting pensioners etc., we might wear it better. Tricky decisions all around, but as long as football is as popular as it is, players can continue to demand mad wages compared to the common man and that’s gotta be paid for somehow. Appreciate your nuanced take on it all Ali

Morning Ally. So I got my renewal through and my ticket in the north stand and it's £1,211, an increase of £72. So if you base that on roughly 45,000 season tickets that works out an extra 2 million after tax for the club. When you think someone like Sonny earns around 10m a season (based on 200k a week) I think this is a harsh and unfair increase. But like you said... There's apparently 30,000 fans on the waiting list for a season ticket so they've got us by the short and curlys.... What can we do 🤷🏼♂️ Great video as always mate!

Re: Senior Citizen Ticket Holders: The 50% discount is a brilliant condition. Without knowing how this works, its seems that this could be open to abuse by fans buying season tickets 2-3 years before they get to 65. I'd be fully supportive of a 50% discount for fans with, for example, over 10 years of season ticket purchases. Seems fair and equitable. I also presume the THST asked the club to keep prices in line with inflation at the minimum?

I haven't seem much of him.but I caught Djed in his match against inter and I honestly think that if he is willing to work he could be good back up for porro, since as a wing back he is more comfortable going forward that emerson. Just a thought though.
I think because the country has the concept of Thatcherism hard-wired into it, we (the English) tend to just shrug and get on with it when the football clubs/energy companies etc whack up prices at will. We accept that that's capitalism and that's how it works - and so they know they'll get away with it without meaningful protest. We're even at this weird stage now where some fans feel a sense of pride when the club we support posts big profits, whereas when I first started supporting Spurs in the early 80s we didn't have a clue/give a damn how much money the club was making - we just cared about what was happening on the pitch (until Irving Scholar turned up of course:-). Some fans are even getting edgey that a naming-rights deal hasn't yet been secured, and that our stadium isn't known as "The (insert faceless multi-national brand here) Stadium" rather than the wonderful "Tottenham Hotspur Stadium". We need to look at how German football fans deal with things like this. Now THEY know how to protest.

It would give you more chance to focus on match analysis and then cover other news / questions on quieter days. Or when we get back in Europe I guess double match analysis needed anyway most weeks! With regards to price increases the 6% is basic economics with consideration of recent inflation and no recent increases then it isn’t really that bad - there will never be a good time to say prices going up. The senior changes is the more debatable issue if people want to get upset. Like you say though.. supply and demand, tickets never go to general sale. It’s no one’s birthright to attend every game and I think you did a balanced analysis.

The story about Richarlison is brilliant, but unfortunately the main takeaway is that the guy’s just a bit of an idiot. He’s not an intelligent bloke is he. I mean in any context, understanding the question or not, who in their right mind starts mouthing off the coach in front of the squad?? I’m absolutely sure that had Ange arrived before Richy, there is no way on earth he’s phoning him up, speaking to him, profiling him and deciding he’s a good character fit for the dressing room. He’s lived in England for what, 7 years? Maybe if his brain was slightly less pidgeon-sized he’d have picked up some of the language? It’s clear Ange has targeted intelligent, humble, motivated players for his rebuild - do you really think Richy would have been his first choice?

Completely agree. I think Ange has been lumberd with him and definitely not a player he would have spoken to and green lit the decision. I was saying a few weeks ago how disappointing it is he doesn't speak a lick of English given how long he's lived in the country. It's just another example of his lack of intelligence, which shows on the pitch as well. I really hope we can get offers for him in the summer. I think he's a decent guy, but we need better going forward. Just my opinion.

Any idea how much beer sales have increased in the Ange Era?

My take on with Richardlison: last season, he had NOT earned the right to complain about Conte's tactics nor demand for more minutes. He was absolute shite. Personally I'm not in favor of players doing this sort of thing. It is disrespectful and if it is allowed, it promotes dissension among the ranks. If you are not getting minutes, first ask yourself why. That was very poor and disrespectful on his part. On top of that, he was late. So in total, highly unprofessional

agree but I think it was a moment of miscommunication between Conte and Richarlison

@@DarylSpykerman But he didn't know that. He opened his big unearned mouth anyway. So. Wrong & unprofessional

yes A.G nice 1...Spurs knows fans will pay ,so put out a statement about cost blah,blah,blah the fan base is strong. Richarlison like marmite does some good and bad things ,but to tell Conte about his tactics is Priceless!!

My Virgin deal coming to end in may - and if don’t get another deal and kept all the channels - it would go up by £130 - and from next season champs league is on both TNT and amazon so in theory would he even more if wanted all channels showing football

becoming a joke getting a ticket. Occasionally get my dad's season ticket in upper east but honestly atmosphere up there is poor and cost of travel etc is increasing. I can get every single game live on optus sports so think I will stay at home and not fill levys pockets anymore thanks.

I'm thinking that too

The increase in season ticket cost will increase the coffers by £3m a year which will likely be Levy’s pay rise this year

Alasdair - How does Joe Public get a ticket/s to home game - Been a fan all my 55 Years and back in the day just pitched up and got in, i know these days went decades ago but up to Potch's era always got a ticket to watch the lesser games Today it seems you have to be a member £50 no guarantee of a ticket and if you have a few of you want a day out at Spurs you would end up sitting in different stands (no fun) I heard 40000 season ticket holders and around 6 - 8000 away tickets - where are the rest going !!!! and any advice how to get 3 tickets sitting together at home to Luton or anyone Gratefully received - have a great day

What has happened about the stadium naming rights alasdair 🤔

Spurs are staying with "The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium" as is currently better than selling the rights apparently.
