Saare, builder of the new Saare 41.2, may not be widely know as a yacht builder, but the Estonian yard has a very strong pedigree. Theo Stocker found out more

Saare is fantastic, sailed some great miles on one. If you think of getting a boat with the blue stripes, have a look at this one first.

Good priority with fewer cabins/berths. I always find it insane to see 7-9 berths and three heads in a 40-and-a-bit cruiser.

She looks like a well thought out cruising boat for serious cruising. I have come full circle, from a Contessa 26 to a fifty foot ex charter French mass production yacht of dubious quality. Never mind the quality feel the beam! At seventy two I have gone back to a Contessa 26 for day sailing and the odd overnight. If I was young fit and had the money I would look at this yacht for serious cruising. I wonder how she would stack up to a 40 foot Hallberg moneywise?

Wayyy to much $$ but we’ll thought out interior and looks fun to sail! I’ll stick with my Beneteau Oceanis 40 though! Great tour! Thanks so much I love your tours!

Too expensive for a 1990is boat with a 2020s induction cooker.

Yet another 1 million euros boat for just a couple. At least this one is an old design with no innovation. 🙂 Looks well built - but I fail to see where that 1,000,000 Euro sinks in.

Well, I can give you a good answer. The boat, as shown here, is roughly 500 000 e + VAT. The rest I recommend you spend on rum and accessories. But where the money really goes in a Saare is the construction and finish and to me, this is where the appeal of the boat comes in. Really sturdy grid structure that has been designed with the idea of the boat eventually meeting billion+ year old bedrock that keeps poking out of the Baltic sea at speed. And if damaged, designed to be repaired as well. So no cheap and cheerful liner construction as you'd get on a cheaper boat. The other great thing is that it doesn't have the ikea looking interior of cheaper modern boats. Personally I also love that it has enough sense to avoid some undesireable "innovation" such sacrificing upwind performance. In other words, it keeps the desireable aspects of boat building of the past (sturdy construction, beautiful interior, focus on all aspect sailing instead of dock living and downwind days) and marries it with modern vacuum construction with good resins. This thing is actually objectively better made than a Hallberg Rassy. Besides, it looks so much nicer than the bloated tennis shoes coming from Southern Europe. Granted, if I were to spend this kind of money, I would probably ask it with maybe 30% less cabinet space in the front cabin to accomodate a liftable bed with less of a V shape. Which they would do, as Saare will make the cabins into whatever you ask.

Not a great value at close to one million euros with vat and all the remaining stuff . Small and cramped owners cabin with a split mattress is a poor design yes it’s only 41 feet but I would not seriously considered this boat.
