To The Top Crane | In this video I use our Tadano 180g-5 to construct a 300 foot tall (91.4 Meter) cell tower. The crane was configured with 53,000 pounds of counterweights, 186 feet of main boom length and 122 feet of lattice jib. Formatting this as a Tower Time Lapse was pretty much my only option for this footage.

You must have spent a lot of time spotting your crane before you set up, it looks like you didn't have much room under your A2B weight on the last section. Well done!

What percentage do you like to run your boom speed and swing speed? I run a Tadano ATF 220G-5 and have found that running the boom between 20-40% and swing around 60% works best for that crane. Curious to see what you prefer.. keep er shiny side up!
@ToTheTopCrane
@ToTheTopCrane 3 жыл бұрын
I run everything at 100% except swing. I have swing set at 60%. Boom down happens pretty fast if I'm not careful and there is a lot of stick in the air.
@ceedog284

To The Top Crane with the 250 ton with the boom at 100% it takes off very quickly. Wether I’m stacking counterweight or running 223’ of main, it will run faster than I’d like. Interesting to hear how different machines react differently even though they’re from the same manufacturer. I just got a GoPro hero 8 black and I’m hoping to upload some videos soon. I live in California and am an operator in the local 12 operating engineers.

Thanks for sharing Jimmy. Is this the max height for this crane or could you add more Lattice Jib? I had whole lot rather be you operating the crane than the guys climbing and assembling the tower. LOL I am not cut for that kind of work.
@ToTheTopCrane
@ToTheTopCrane 3 жыл бұрын
I had 11 feet of main boom left after we installed the jib. On these 300 foot towers, I use 186 feet of main boom and 122 feet of jib. The max main boom length is 197 feet. I use 186 feet of main boom because it gives it a little more capacity and isn't quite as flexible. So, it doesn't sway as much. Many thanks for watching! 🏗
