The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly kzfaq.infoUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.

mike simon because the poison wont go into the digestive track and only into the bloodstream, therefore safe to eat the meat as long as cooked, people have been using poisons for a long time now.
@Morclaw
@Morclaw 9 жыл бұрын
mike simon Like Aperix said , humans have been using arrow poisons for hundreds of thousands of years. Most famous is curare and these poisons are not orally active. You could literally dring a cup of it and as long as you have no injury that would allow it to pass into bloodstream you would be safe. Other significant group is Dart Frog poisons. One of the stronger ones is Batrachotoxin. I will now cite a scientific report. The oral potency of batrachotoxin is much lower; therefore, Indians can eat animals captured by their darts without of risk of intoxication. In additions, the small amount of poison used is metabolized and the metabolites are not poisonous; most importantly, cooking may also destroy the toxins, although not all toxins are heat labile.

Violent Potato I think they called the arrow toxic because the mark it leaves on the target looks like the symbol for biohazard.See here, you will see the vast similarities:www.google.co.uk/search?q=radioactive+sign&rls=com.microsoft:en-GB:IE-Address&rlz=1I7PLXB_enGB597&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=-fJQVYXhCcG4sQGAwYHAAQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1159&bih=569#rls=com.microsoft:en-GB:IE-Address&tbm=isch&q=toxic+sign&imgrc=exvSZyaun8cRFM%253A%3BZCifuW5kc3jnjM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.returnofkings.com%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252F2014%252F05%252Ftoxic-sign.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.returnofkings.com%252F35881%252F4-signs-youre-in-a-poisonous-ltr%3B2000%3B1500

TWANGnBANG What is your'e view on mechanical hunting heads? I use a type that has three blades held in by a rubber o ring when the tip impacts the ring snaps releasing the blades. The shape of the blades pulls them out on impact making a much larger diameter cutting surface than these whilst having them tucked in makes for a much smaller flight diameter than these as well. Are you familiar with this type and if so what are your'e thoughts on it?
@TWANGnBANG
@TWANGnBANG 10 жыл бұрын
adznz11 I use them lots in slower bows. They tend to open in flight when shot out of faster crossbows. My favorite is the Trophy Ridge Hammerhead with a 2" cutting radius. I've taken many deer with it.

Reminds me of the RazorRing broadheads I picked up many years ago. They wouldn't shoot to the same point of impact as my field points and it was a pain to adjust back and forth to get practice in between hunts. Eventually gave up on them and just used a good expanding broadhead. They claimed something like 'it punches a hole the same size as a 20 gauge slug!', it tore the hell out of my targets, that for sure.

I can speak from personal experience, these heads are extremely deadly. They fly very consistently and no doubt create the most impressive wound I have seen a broadhead cut. One issue is they literally eat any arrow or crossbow block creating perfect clover cuts wherever they hit.

Anti-hunting people make me sigh. In my country deer are an introduced pest, and hunting them helps keep the numbers down and preserve the forests. This head seems to guarantee a fast kill, and any hunter that doesn't want a quick kill is a sadist not a hunter. I may be too soft-hearted to do the deed myself, but I hate people that look down upon those who do, especially when a lot of these people eat meat produced in factory farms.

Hure3000 I simply cannot fathom how people who do not hunt think they are experts on how animals die. A heart shot is no faster a kill than a double lung shot. A heart shot robs the brain of oxygen because of the drop in BP just like a double lung shot does. Suffocation happens at the cellular level, not at the systemic level like you're imagining it. I've seen deer run 100yds after a perfect heart shot, and I've seen them drop in their track from a double lung shot. As I've mentioned many times, I've seen ZERO difference in time to death between a broadhead or a bullet for the same shot.
@nateo200
@nateo200 9 жыл бұрын
Hure3000 You must not have taken anatomy or even basic biology....what do you think happens when the heart stops? Same thing but sometimes slower. Deer and yes even humans have taken serious hits to the heart and even both lungs and still make it pretty far.

Deus Vult. , Your dumber than a rock. And a hypocrite to boot. Most modern razorhead tips are SO sharp they cut cleanly & are hardly even felt. Its air hitting the cut that causes pain. YOU really need to watch more hunting videos. Many deer simply flinch (like when a horsefly bites em) & keep on eating until they bleed out internally & just lay down & "sleep out".

I have just this season, started to use Toxic Broadheads and boy, what a killer! This afternoon, I hit my first deer, a five point, with the toxic. What a blood trail! The blood started pouring immediately and continued until the dropped at 60 yds. You would have been blind not to be able to trail this nice buck. Last year I used mechanicals, had good success but the Toxic by far had a better blood flow and wound opening. I'm a believer!

The fletchlings would bend and move according to the wind patterns, the metal (or whatever material) won't adjust to random changes. That's why the fletchlings aren't made of metal themselves. (Just an idea, I don't actually know)

I used this arrow on a deer 2 weekends ago, I also used a normal fixed blade arrow same day. I’ll never use this arrow again, same shot on 2 different deer, and this arrow killed the deer significantly slower. The fixed blade killed within 20 seconds and the deer went 20 yards. This blade took at least 5 minutes but I will say the deer still only went 35 yards.

I'd like to chime in on the guy who made the comment. .... "I don't understand the use of a bow like that" "Draw a bow like a real man" I take offense to that comment. Well, I've bow hunted my entire life starting with a recurve and ending with a compound. Now, at 58 with a torn right bicep and other physical handicaps, I am unable to participate in a sport I've loved. Now, with a crossbow and laws that permit it's use, I can once again hunt with an arrow and bow. I can only assume you are a young man and healthy. But, please, don't say I'm not a real man because I can no longer draw a bow. I've raised 3 kids, brought them up in church, spent my life giving to others in need and serving and protecting as a police officer. I've done the best I could in this life. Shooting a bow does not define a man.

Because they pay attention to what they believe is wrong. They don't close their eyes to it and address it. Not looking at it won't make a problem go away. And if the problem is that hunting is bad then it needs to be pointed out. Being a "viewer" has nothing to do with that, that only says "They pay attention to it". If you're against child armies, do you just ignore they're there or do you give it attention and try to get involved in a movement against them? Your whole point was not good at all.

I have a real question here, not meaning to be offensive in any way. You just seem like a respectable guy and you've been answering questions a lot so I'm going to ask one as well. Is it normal to shoot deer so that they suffocate to death? Like, is that standard procedure or is it just with bows? Once again, not being offensive, I'm with you on this, I eat meat and I see nothing wrong with hunting, just asking.
@TWANGnBANG

You want a high probability shot, and that's the lungs. They are actually quite vascularized, and so a shot through the lungs robs the brain of blood and robs the blood of oxygen. It's not suffocation how most would imagine it.

SlowSlowSloth The death of the animal with a lung shot occurs as the blood is escaping the through one of the two places where all blood passes on It's way to the rest of the body, effectively preventing any oxygenated blood from going back to the heart and thus leads to massive organ failiure in moments, killing the animal just as quickly as if you had cut It's head off.
@kainhall
@kainhall 9 жыл бұрын
with a bow the main killing method is blood loss. if you cut a "main vain" even though their still is enough blood to pump, and the heat is still working... it will pump it on the ground vs to the brain. a rifle kills with blood loss, but also shock. the shock USUALLY kills quicker than a bow... but both methods can be instant, or take days... depending on where you hit. i hate hunting shows because they shoot it... then wait 3 hours before tracking it. it could be suffering for 3 hours possibly then! im a fan of the coup de graw shot..or if im close enough a knife to the wind pipe. i usually aim for the neck for a finishing shot...doesnt rune meat, kills in under 5 seconds from MASSIVE blood loss.

I think the dullness of the blade is pretty specific to its design, if the blade was razor sharp the whole design would be pretty null. The outstretching of each flexible blade is dependant upon the resistance caused by that dull edge exerting more force onto the interior bevel. A very sharp edge would result in less force and it might as well just be a rigid fixed blade then instead of the flexibility it has to create the larger wound channel.
@Myerp117
@Myerp117 9 жыл бұрын
the bevel is whats creating the force to open the blades, if the bevel was on the outside the blades would just contract rather than expand. so they have to be on the inside for that feature.

Interesting how people like to comment about our species somehow being lesser predators than big cats, for example. Surely they must realize that if we had the innate predatory functions such as long, hard claws and enormous protruding teeth things would be different for us. But evolution has instead given us sapience and with it the ability to improvise and design weapons, the ability to learn and teach the anatomy of our prey, ambush predation and such. Even our ancestors didn't hunt without the right tools; sharpened flint spearheads are still being unearthed to this day! I'd like to see these commenters go hunting for deer unarmed. Jump it, wrestle it into the ground and sink your little pearly whites into its neck until it ceases its struggle. See how it goes, then come back and tell me how efficient a hunter you are.

Well you can't always instantly kill something unless you get a lucky shot. A good lung shot, and a decent broad head , the animal bleeds to death in a max of 10 seconds. If the animal starts jerking around or moving in a frantic manor, you hit a nerve cluster and it is dead nearly on impact so good for you.

But still are enough of a hypocrite to keep using them. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?! More to the point, why are you even watching this if its clearly not up your alley? Just to come and spread your 100% transparent hypocrisy/bullshit? Way to go bud, perhaps you need to take a look at yourself before you have a tantrum again. Myself, and most other people here are just gonna read your bullshit and laugh it off as one other ignorant person in the world, but you gotta wake up to that every single day of your life, you gotta go and talk to people and face the world being such an ignorant and small minded person, that must be tough, please do not have kids. ALSO, I take it from your comment that you are against hunting and such, probably a veg/vegan (if not, shit, here we go with the hypocrisy again), which is cool, I'd never go hunting too, nor promote it. I'm into archery and kind of want to get a crossbow, that's why I'm watching. But even so, I'm pretty sure you like to just live your life in peace and carry on with your beliefs (however wrong they may be) without being bothered by someone for no apparent reason,I get it, you still haven't had the time to pick up a dictionary (doubt you have one though) and look up the meaning of the word HYPOCRITE, you are too busy saving the kids in china and replanting the Brazilian rain forest by yourself. Check yourself, you give vegans, vegetarians and everything in between a bad name.

rogantu No, shooting the heart does not result in instant death, and head shots are irresponsible because of the massive chance of wounding- there is no way Norwegian hunters are being taught to take head shots. If you're going to eat, something has to die. If you're going to eat meat, an animal must die. Why not do it as efficiently as possible? Why is it bad to find improvements to the process interesting? Oh, and I have no problems making a very large distinction between the death of an animal and the death of a human being. Anyone who places both on equal footing and hunts is either a very sad hunter or a very sad human being.
@tuchesuavae
@tuchesuavae 10 жыл бұрын
bow hunting is extremelt a deer and it will look around and continue grazing until it feels sleepy and and lays down and dies PAINLESSLY. The blades severs the arteries and heart so the animal bleeds out extremely fast is the deer runs it'll get maybe 2 hopes before it dies that makes the blood pump fast so it dies even faster. Bow hunting is legitimately one of the most human ways to kill an animal. as far as your animal to human thing. Human beings are omnivores, to we are designed to live on a diet of vegetation AND meat. these animals are killed for food and eco balance. People being killed is murder it serves zero purpose unless it is self defense. If you are killing a animal painfully you are a terrible shot and you need to devote a lot more time to target practice and learning where to shoot and with what.

important note, these broadheads need a good helical for better accuracy sometimes. Crossbows generally do not use helicals, so they are potentially less accurate. I've heard some people getting seriously erratic flight with these. I have a set myself though, and with good helicals, they fly even further than feild points of the same weight. I believe it has to do with the arrow-dynamics (tee hee hee) of the blades pulling air in rather than pushing it out, avoiding the vacuum behind the arrow.

crossbows are guns and should not be allowed in archery season. I am a longbow archer since 1955, my kill distance is 20 yards or less. So I could never compete with that rifle that shoots arrows. So Crossbow should be used during fire arm season.
@TWANGnBANG
@TWANGnBANG 9 жыл бұрын
Gary Elliott It's great that you hunt with a longbow, but others should not be limited by your choice. Also, how in the world are you competing against other hunters based upon the distance you can shoot unless they're sitting right next to you taking the same shot? :) The fastest production crossbow shoots an arrow at 425fps. A 308 Winchester is pushing 2800fps. A 30-30 is right around 2200fps. Even the fastest production crossbow is much, much closer in performance to your stick bow than the slowest hunting rifles.

TWANGnBANG All you have to do is watch who hunts with what weapon. Any one who hunts with rifle or a cross bow can learn these weapons in ten minutes. true archery requires hundreds of hours of training and practice. When dedication to a sport is not required it attracts a different kind of person. When you can kill at 50 yards or more you do not have to worry about what you eat, drink or wear. They are noisy and not considerate of the traditional archer who has been in the tree or a blind 3 hours before sunrise in order to not be heard or seen. I will fight to defend your right to hunt any way you want, but I think a traditional season should be sacred. God bless us all.
@TWANGnBANG
@TWANGnBANG 9 жыл бұрын
Gary Elliott Right now, any serious hunter should be happy with anything that attracts new hunters. Period. Crossbows are a great way to do that for the very reason that bothers you about them. Hunting seasons aren't rewards for becoming an expert archer or muzzleloader hunter or whatever- they are nothing more than state regulated access to game that everyone has a right to harvest. Even with crossbow inclusion, the number of hunter you are sharing the woods with today is less than 20 years ago. We need to encourage and accept new hunters, not criticize them and tell them they don't belong in our woods..
