Many brands of non stick products claim they are non-pfas. If you read the instructions they state they are intended for low to medium heat usage. Do not use metal utensils because they are likely to scratch. Replace the skillet once the non stick properties are lost (after about 1 year).

I generally use cast iron, stainless steel, ceramic and glass. I line my aluminum cookie sheets with parchment paper. I have used Teflon lined air fryers and Insta pots….I just bought a ceramic coated pan to use for cooking Just Eggs product. I didn’t know that the utensils were hazardous….. sigh. This stuff is exhausting.

Right?! I hear the parchment paper is leaching toxins too! 😮

Amen. Saw this Doctor on another video re this subject & that's all I needed; thru my non-stick wok (that I used daily, inc poached eggs) and shined the ole cast iron skillet up. Thank you for the reminder/warning.

You can also use glass cookware like the clear glass anchor hocking bake ware or use corning ware.

I think awareness of potential dangers is great. But they still have their place. Don't use them for everything, use softer non scratching tools, and don't over-heat them up empty

Carbon steel is very similar to cast iron for most purposes, especially re toxic concerns
@scottmcloughlin4371

I wouldn't worry much about carbon steel. Very tiny amounts of nickel leach out. Same with stainless steel. There are much larger health concerns all around us. Most Americans breathe in about a credit card worth of "fleece" fibers into their lungs every week. Then there are the massive problem of plastic bottle microplastics. And BPA in the linings of food and beverage cans. And of course, "baby powder" gives people cancers.@@H4KnSL4K

The only problem with your argument is that whem you cook on cast iron, you're still cooking on plastic. When you season a cast iron pan, you are making plastic from oil. What makes this plastic better than the plastic applied to non stick cookware?

And while we’re at it… don’t wash your dishes, etc in a machine with those tablets and toxic soaps! Hand was if possible with only baking soda & use a natural sponge; one made without plastics! 😂😂😂😂
