He also assumed that Mr. Potatohead is the equivalent of Jeffery Dahmer because he "Keeps body parts in his trunk" despite Those Bodyparts being Mr. Potatoheads, not victims of him. Also Mr. Potatoheads ability to give the user control over pieces attached to him; makes him more imaginative than Pinko Himself as Potatohead doesn't have to sell the illusion of being something he is not designed as. Pinko can call himself "A train" or a "Hotel for tiny clowns" but he clearly doesn't have the appearance of being one thus more relying on the illusion. It would be no different if any other toy from Buzzlightyear to Woody to claim their hand is not a hand but rather a wheel; or something else obviously not designed as such. Any toy can claim itself of being something its not; Mr. Potatohead however doesn't need to do that.

Toys with existing design elements are more conducive to imagination than not. Children are highly imaginative, but their imaginations require some baseline information to begin from. For example, a cowboy toy, even if it already has a licensed story associated with it, will inspire a child to expand on this standard format in ways that could not be originally conceived if the toy lacked those existing traits. Having a block of wood be the basis for anything extraordinary would be like telling a child to use a stick as a train when it bears none of the baseline stylings of a train. Even the stick, however, might look like a sword or a gun in an abstract sense. The block of wood, at best, is a building block, or a flail since it's attached to some string, which will guarantee use as a sibling-assault implement

I don't hate to say it, But I REALLY relate to PinKoMan. Tho' I never wanted for anything important, I was the 4th of 4 kids. When Biggest Sis was born, she got 100% of the Christmas and B'Day budget. When Big Brother was born, the two of them each got 50% of the Christmas and B'Day budget. When Big Sis was born, the three of them each got 33% of the Christmas and B'Day budget. When I was born, the four of us each got 25% of the Christmas and B'Day budget. And since the parents were doing ok, but weren't 'well off', when I was really little, I got a LOT of hand-me-down clothes, And played with a lot of twigs, rubber bands, clothesline clips, And pieces of wood. (Huh huh. Huh. Huhuh. He said "wood"). I'm thankful they exercised my imagination pretty well, but I'm _truly_ thankful my pieces of wood didn't talk to me like snotty 'politically correct' psychologists.

I used to imagine toys doing all sorts of things they weren't supposed to do. The firetruck was a Scud launcher, because when I was a toddler, I saw it on T.V. and thought it'd be cool to add to my wargames. Anyway, point is, you can't make stupid kids imaginative and you can't make war-like kids peaceful. I would have probably taped a couple pencils to Pinko, turning it into a dual auto-cannon turret. How's that for "violent", Pinko? You turn people into intestines and limbs! You create WIDOWS and BASTARDS! Yet, if you don't, evil prevails and the lands fall into darkness. The world cares not for your theories and ideals. The world puts you in a position and you make a decision. In this case, it's very simple. You've got HE and AP rounds. That's your choice, Pinko.

And in the bathtub i would throw the bubbles from my bubble bath on the shower door to pretend it was mud or something and then i would play window washer. If we really need a toy made specifically to stimulate a kid's creativity, building blocks is the answer. kids are pretty creative with their restrictions, they come up with crazy stories that mix cowboys and pirates and space creatures all together on their own, and while it might not make perfect sense how it all happens, somehow it all comes together.

Just thinking out loud here: how do Andy’s toys restrain creative thinking at all? You can reimagine your toys in any way you like. How does a concept-neutral hunk of wood change anything? That’s too vague for you to do anything with!

You can seriously do anything you want with the toys Andy has, imagination being constrained to specific things is necessary for true creativity to flourish; contrary to popular belief.

@@randyrhoades8751 look at Ren and Stimpy, the earlier seasons. They had to get really creative to get away with a lot of stuff. Once we got adult party cartoon, they didn't have to be as creative and just, did those jacked up things outright.

The only creative restriction Andy's toys are subjected to is what they are. Andy is free to imagine what they're like and what they do. Woody is a cowboy and Buzz is a space man, and Andy imagines them as BFFs and the heroes of the story.

Howling Din keep in mind the outright insane ideas he came up with at playtime, the beginning of toy story 3 was pretty intense
