My family was a working-class family usually on one income, on occasion, two. When my brother opened his OG Voltron, with all of the projectiles and firing mechanisms, he forgot for a moment just how not-rich we were. My dad pulled off some shockers, that was definitely one of them. That, and the Intellivision with Pitfall AND the Kool-Aid Man game. When he told us to close our eyes, we thought we were in deep crap. Opened them, and we suddenly didn't have to go two houses down whenever we wanted to play Pitfall. Very nice Luke Stormtrooper here! The little bleu piece falling off the Battle damaged X-Wing Fighter ( you know it's a 1982 or 83 battle damaged one because of its plastic grey color, instead of the 1978 white one) comes from the bottom part of R2's dome. This small broken part used to hold the "open wings mode mechanism " inside the vehicle and I guess this is why your wings get loose. a good screwdriver and superglue can help to fix it :)

Late to the party, but I agree on Skeletor. The older one is very much the iconic Skeletor look.

When i was a kid i had the entire Voltron set. I have a distinct memory of looking at it on my shelf as i was falling asleep and waking up to find it gone. My parents never said where it went and decades later i still want to have them back.

Filmation Skeletor by a mile. My mental image of skelector definitely has the tattered cape, and purple accents to his outfit.

I actually kit bashed my New Eternia Skeletor with my revelations one to give him the more purple skin. Looks pretty sweet.

Always appreciate a Jetfire/Valkyrie figure. I honestly got tired of trying to find the armor bits that came with the original at a halfway decent price, and found an etsy vendor that had a decent set of the Jetfire armor as a repro. The tiny connecting bits were the bane of kids then, and the bane of Jetfire collectors now!

Dude, that's a rare version of Jetfire you've got there! It's still got the Macros "fighting kite" symbol on its wing. That was eventually removed from the figures. Also that second Voltron with the cockpits is from the Voltron: The Third Dimension toy line.

Nice collection that is a first release jetfire because it still has the daimond on the wing from macross.

Finally ALIENS!!! yeah the blown up one came in a two set with a Hicks figure. I have one mint in package from 2 yrs ago when I scored it for under 80 Needless to say I couldn't get it that cheap now Loose ones go for 100 on up Mostly because it's a great Michael Biehn likeness and doubles as a good Kyle Reese

Thanks for sharing! So far I prefer the Filmation Skeletor figure over all other iterations. I would love to see the Masterverse line use the recent DC comic designs to give fans a fresh take on classic characters. I am also a fan of the Masters of the Universe artwork by Stjepan Sejic and feel his designs would be expressed well in the Masterverse form factor.

That first Voltron's so nostalgic. My dad let me and my sister play with it sometimes when we were kids. I believe it's still at my mom's house, well it was a few years ago, and in pretty good condition since it was owned by an adult collector.

I had a visceral reaction to seeing that Go-Lion Voltron. I had the entire thing until I was 24 when mine took a sh!t off the top of my entertainment center and broke. 😢😢😢

I had a regular matchbox voltron but i remember also having a giant motorized wired controlled voltron. The only articulation was the arms moved up and down. I am not a fan of revelation but new eternia and princess of power got me into collecting masterverse.

Hi Dan, you got some nice old pieces in this collection! My first Voltron was the ugly one with the 3.75" action figures, then I received the good one. It did not come with a sword or shield but I used the ones from the crappy action figure Voltron if I remember correctly.

Hmmm...both of those Skeletors have good things about them. The masterverse reminds me more of the old toys & packaging art, the other is obviously for the filmation lovers. I loved the toys more than I loved the cartoon, so I think I go with the masterverse one...

The overall line is Masterverse. New Eternia and Revelations are like sub headers within the brand.

I had that Starfire. Such a good toy. Eventually the front landing gear catch broke and it won't close so I had to tape it. By that point it had become more of a display model anyway. I have no memory of what happened to it.

I honestly prefer the New Eternia version. I'd just add a cape. Skeletor always looks better with a cape. Even as a kid I never cared about the Filmation version. I always preferred the art and imagery of the characters over the cartoon. Personally, my preferred version is Frank Langella. And I love the Masterverse version of that figure. I added a custom crushed velvet Cape to mine.

with the two Skeletors, I think if you were to black out the eyes on the newer version then they might look better together. Those red eyes are definitely throwing off the vibe.

I don’t know one from the other, but that taller Skeletor with the cloak looks great! My only MOTU figures are a He-Man and Skeletor from a two pack, it came with metal weapons for them. That’s the extent of my MOTU figure knowledge, they both have ugly heads, He-Man in particular, oh Skeletors jaw moves…

Honestly, I don't mind the left Skeletor as a variant, but I prefer the old-school right Skeletor. 🙂

I agree with you on the Skeletor; being a child of the 80's, who grew up on original Filmmation He-Man, the one on the right just looks better, more accurate, and just overall cooler than the one on the left. My own collection has slowly grown; I collected all of the Beast Wars-era figures from Kingdom and Legacy, hope the rumors of Silverbolt and Tigerhawk coming out in the next line is true, and I've recently added Liu Kang's dragon form to my collection of Storm Collectibles figures. I'm actually debating on getting rid of my Power Rangers Lightning Collection figures, due to the horror stories I've been hearing of the later figures' quality control, and because the only PR figure I have - SPD's Shadow Ranger - isn't the Doggie I grew up with (I didn't give SPD a chance, after binge-watching Dekaranger, so...). Not sure, yet; I do like my Tenga Warrior figure, though, so might keep that. My boyfriend has also started getting into collecting, as well; he's recently acquired a Mario Movie smoking Bowser figure, to add to the Bowser figure I got him years ago, and a few other figures, but he's been keeping them in the box as MIB as possible, in case he needs to sell them off for some needed cash. He's mostly been focusing his money on cosplay and (forgive the term, for you furryophobes) fursuiting, getting a partial suit of his panther character that will hopefully be in, next week, in time for him to take it with him to Anthrocon. I envy him with that, both to be able to go to a big convention like that and to have a cosplay outfit like that (I'd like to have one, but it would be of BW Ravage, and that's going to be a lot more expensive than the $1500 he paid for his suit).

Dan - that's a long winded way of saying you *do* collect Masterverse and Origins (at least as much as most of us do too - we're all looking for our favorite characters in these lines!)

I recently bought that skeletor after holding off on the line for awhile. However what I did for He-Man was take savage, Viking and the first revelations figure and sort of combine them all together to make a more Conan-esque conceptual he man that looks pretty bad ass.

I still have my Jetfire, but the hinges on the shoulders broke long ago. So, he’s in two separate pieces that can perilously be connected again.

But seriously, I know how to fix your problem, instead of having one Skeletor in your display, just do what I do and have an entire shelf dedicated to all versions of Skeletor! hahaha But yeah, I gotta go with the Super7 Filmation Skeletor, of all my Skeletors he's definitely my favorite. A cape that might work great is the one that comes with the super7 ultimates Shredder figure, not sure if the purples match perfectly, but that figure often goes for around 25 bucks on Amazon, I bought an extra one for the cloth cape to put on my AWOK Kahlee figure (which looks amazing on him btw). Then the extra Shredder itself I painted to look more like the "toon Shredder" toy, aka the one actually wearing clothes.

Classics for life on the Skeletor issue. That version of Masterverse Skeletor is nicer than the original one but the color is unappealing, the head is this weird squat shape, the armor is too small, which adds up to an losing combination for me.

There's not much cooler than G1 Jetfire, especially if you're into Transformers AND Robotech/Macross. That said, just how many thumbnails were bruised by that damn landing gear springing out too hard? 😅

I hate thr looks of the chest gap of any action figure. It works for mecha but not for any action figure, imo.

Chris I share your enthusiasm for the classics look of skeletor. Except I don't like the body engineering. The masterverse is closer but McFarlane is best. And it's blasphemy to speak I'll against neca aliens. Especially the AVP version 😛🪭❤️👍
