My ac system did this and stopped blowing cold air all together. The relay works and I checked the fuses. I just replaced my orifice tube and put a whole can of Freon in there. I used a paper clip where the relay was and it starts blowing cold air. The only odd thing I noticed was that the ax light stays on even when I turn it off on my dash.

Check the AC compressor control valve.

I have this issue on my 2014 corrolla and the TSB-0086-14 states that the compressor is the problem and now you are saying it's the fan motor is this true? When does this fan operate, all the time the A/C is running?

For my car the condenser fan doesn't spin at all... but the air compressor spins well the ac blows hot air at idle compared to acceleration

I’m having this same problem. When I turn the car on and the ac on it’s warm, if I start driving a few minutes then turn the AC on it’s cold, but when I come to a stop it will slowly get warmer the longer I’m stopped

Even though I haven’t replaced both condenser and evaporator yet I know that they’re the bad parts I need to replace next. I took my car to a mechanic to replace my expansion valve. I did the condenser fan and compressor myself before that. He told me I need to replace those 2 because I basically have the same problem as y’all and said I would have to replace the expansion valve later on again in the future if I take too long to replace those parts. Luckily my car can blow pretty cold to really cold while driving. And pretty cold to pretty warm during idle, it varies so I can’t really give you accurate results since it’s so hot and humid and rainy and humid and whatever else Florida has. Lol But man even driving in heat feels wonderful. It just takes a little bit to cool while driving but once it cools it stays cool. Those 2 parts can get dirty and clogged up, thus restricting refrigerant and when that happens pressure builds up. And you guys know what that means. So driving helps the car get airflow to the condenser and of course the radiator, thus adding more airflow because the condenser fan pulls air. It doesn’t push air.

Is the check done at idle or at a certain RPM? Should the gauge be in the blue at all RPM's?

My 08 scion is doing this with the heat. Working great while driving but starts blowing cold at a red light. Anybody got any ideas?

If you have to do a high rev for it to cool down means theres too many pressure inside your system. it wont circulates properly your compressor is overworked and needs a higher rom to help it circulate. Hope this help

so even if the fans are working it may not be working up to its full potential to cool the car at a stop? i considered swapping fan assembly as my car is doing exactly this. freon is full to spec but at idle the temp start to rise until i start moving again. almost like if the fans are rotating slow at idle until i give it gas to help it speed up fan speed or something. huh

i have a very similar issue i did take off fan shoud thinking it wasnt important might not having a fan shroud cause ac to not blow cold but only chilled air?

Hook the gage up without a can and pull trigger it will bleed out but not good for the environment

@@RandomObed it needs to turn off and on on cooler weather. However, if the day is too hot, the fan stays on.

When the ac is on, both the radiator and condenser fans should always be running. When the compressor shuts off, the condenser fan will shut off and the radiator fan may or may not shut off depending on what the cooling system tells the fan.
