Welcome to the DocMack Car Channel.I post lots of car how to DIY videos as well as car care videos.
This is my full guide on the Toyota Camry Tune up 2012-2017 / 2009-2011 2ARFE 2.5L (Spark Plugs . Air Filter , MAF) - Full guide
Common causes of failing spark plugs or Coils could include misfires , the check engine light can start blinking if it is a bad misfire .
Misfire codes are usually P0300 P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304 for the 4 cylinder model, and the 6 cylinder model can include P0305 and P0306 .
Make sure to follow my full step guide or your car could have aloy of hesitation during acceleration.
A bad Mass Air Flow sensor can cause your car to Stall. This video shows you how to clean it properly.

I use a small amount of anti seize just to lub the threads, I also use silicone dielectric so the rubber boot do not glue to the spark plug. I removed the exhaust heat shield bolts when the car was new and add anti seize to the bolts , so they will not seize. When you take it to the dealer, they want it done fast and to sell parts, so you get a new air filter, at dealer price.This defeated part of the cost saving plan. I added some cotton like prefilter beneath the air filter, and once a year, I remove the filters shake the cotton, , air blast it and inspect it with a light. I expect the filter should last the life of the engine or more. That is how they did it in the mid east desert, or they be replacing it weekly. I had 420,000 km on my last Suzuki and just bought one air filter , and I did not need it so bad. If you really have time and want some fun, try changing the PCV valve and the Transmission fluid like I did.

These come with dielectric grease and anti sieze on them already

@@DocMackGarage some sensors may come precoated. But not spark plugs , some publication actually warned about too much anti seize on the threads. There were no die electric on the new plugs. I removed the exhaust manifold heat shield myself when my 2015 Camry were new, I did not see anything on the threads.

It is easy to check and you save little time not doing it. The box do not always protect them from rough handling.

How many miles on the car to require spark plug change? Also when do you suggest changing serpentine belt? Great video sir!

I follow the manual for plugs at say 160,000 km which is around 100,000 miles. Well before that, I had it pulled for an inspection. The serpentine belt, change on condition. That in aviation language, really means , "if it ain't broke" don't touch it." I spray leather and vinyl conditioner on it every year, One make called 333. I have not touched the belt since new in 2015, no cracks on the ribs etc.

No need to check the gap bud. Just tighten the plugs down then about 1/4 of the way and your good. It' the way I've done it for years and never had an issue.

Thanks for your input bud. If you are not too fussy about torque specs etc that will work . I am ocd with torque specs and getting it fitted to spec lol .

Yup, you always have to get the correct part number for the car, in this case it was genuine denso with pre anti sieze

No throttle body cleaning?

You could do that but for a throttle body cleaning this would need a whole new video as modern throttle bodies are quite different to clean .

This throttle body is not anymore difficult than most cars. If you really want some fun, try changing the PCV valve and the transmission fluid like I did. Just hold on to your tools tight and don't let it drop into the intake.
