I wasn't sure how to release the old bulb. Watched the video and it is super easy. Saved me a lot of aggravation trying to figure it out in the small space that is available.

Thank you so much. Your comment about small hands fitting in was very helpful. Mine aren't small, but they are certainly smaller than my husband's and it worked to just change the bulb and ignore the battery. Nice time and effort saver!

I just did this yesterday on a 2008 Corolla. I removed the battery hold down strap bolt on the radiator support and was able to move the battery enough to gain more room for my hand. Worked great. I also found it easier to install the new bulb first and then plug in the wire. Hopefully this helps someone out.

Actually it's easier to just reach down there twist the bulb and pull it out of the assembly then press the tab in while pulling the bulb out of the harness socket I just replaced mine today on a 2010 Corolla XRS you don't need to remove anything from your battery that's unnecessary extra work for nothing

I agree with the post below.I did this yesterday and found the slack in the cable was tight to turn the bulb out.so I disconnected the harness plug, than removed the bulb.I than replaced the bulb and reconnected the plug.This seemed to be much easier. Just my 2cents.

Restored the oxidized lenses in my 99 Corolla today. Installed new set of Osram long life 9003 H4 HB2 bulbs and the passenger turn signal assembly because the original fell off. Amazing difference driving at night.

usually removing the wheel well cover will expose the fog light for replacement

2007: passenger bulb, 9006- took less than 20 seconds and Big W is wise and astute, suggesting it is easier to install then new bulb in the housing (1/4 twist, CW to re-install bulb) then attach the connector and clip-lock. Always think it’s a good idea NOT to touch the glass bulb with naked hand, though not all bulbs are sensitive to skin/oil or smudging.

My car is a 2004 Corolla. Looking for light bulbs, I see 2 part numbers, 9005 and 9006. Is one the high beam bulb and the other the low beam bulb? Which is which? Happy Thanksgiving!

NOTE: always wear gloves when installing new bulbs. Touching bulb with bare hands reduces bulb life.

I have done this on a 2000 Corolla a few times. Buy the BULB, not the entire headlight assembly... Driver's side has the battery and its hold-down strap to be removed. Take the + and - terminals loose (10mm bolts) and be CAREFUL ... cover the 2 clamps and the battery posts ... you do NOT want any short-circuit and big sparks and to get shocked! The bulb's rubber shroud needs a flat blade screwdriver to loosen it and note the orientation of the OLD bulb as it comes out so the new one goes in the same orientation (3 tabs align the bulb). Take your time.
