1KZ-TE Manual 78 series Prado with sunroof, suspension seats, 3rd row seats
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 78 was made from 1990 till 1996. In its lifespan it was offered with 2 Turbo diesel engines 1KZ-TE and 2L-TE. The bigger , stronger more popular one was the 3 liter 1KZ. Although it still belongs in the 70 series family it was the first generation of Land Cruiser Prado as we know Prado (Land Cruiser in the UK)today . Prado 78 was offered in Japanese market as Prado, but had many names in other markets such as Land Cruiser II, Land Cruiser Bundera, Land Cruiser 77, and Land Cruiser 79 . Those other markets also had the options of engines such as 22R petrol engine and the 3L naturally aspirated diesel engine.

I worked on all kind of Land Cruisers but a Kzj78 is a very special vehicle.

I am planning on getting one, would you mind elaborating as to what I should probably look for that is working well (I live in Guatemala and rust shouldn't be a problem).. and also if major parts are relatively easy to find/fix? Would you say it is a car I could have "forever" (obviously parts wear out, you have to give it maintenance, etc but I don't know if you know what I mean

hello there !! have you tried to swipe this prado interior to the LC76 ? specially the seats and doors panels ?

Salamah.y Hi there! I have not done it myself but i have seen a 76 with the Prado interior. Owner said it was a direct fit . I was thinking of doing this to my 76 before i sold it.

Sounds good , Actually I'm thinking to do it with my 76 , cuz I like the old school interior of Toyota 80s and 90s but the problem is How can I find v.good condition prado 77 furniture specially here in Saudi Arabia or GCC thank you dear.

There are salvage yards in Dubai that bring car parts from Japan. Maybe you can order the whole interior for one ?

Wow it's a manual. 😮 Very uncanny too see these vehicles especially the interior if you are use to a 76 and it's lack of features. Our 76 came factory with speaker in the rear like your prado did.

Thanks mate. I think the AUS market GXLs come with rear speakers.
