When we found out that the basic RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid costs 23k PLN, we thought that someone in Toyota took leave of his senses. After all, the prices of the recently tested Kii Sorento PHEV start at 195,000 PLN, and the Ford Kuga PHEV (unfortunately only FWD) costs only 156k PLN.
In fact, the price of the RAV4 is approaching the level of premium PHEVs, such as the BMW X3 30e or Volvo XC60 T6. But Toyota is not a premium, even in its CEO's wildest dreams. So where does this price come from?
Apparently, the Japanese brazenly think they have the best car of this type on the market. That they made the best PHEV ever. That in terms of performance, range, drive efficiency and fuel consumption, the competition does not live up to the rims after the battery is discharged. And you know what's the funniest thing? That after the test of this car, we cannot disagree with them...
