So their claim is now that, for two years, the engine techs just weren't doing their job... At some point, blaming metal shavings for blown engines is like blaming dented bumpers for head on collisions.

I don't know man, maybe they are researching and finding out what to do. May be finding the pattern of bearing wear takes time, may be they are waiting for enough data as cases are reported from customers. Or they were just contemplating about the recall.

It's funny all these "shavings" are landing in the same bearing. No hybrids in the recall? Is Toyota going to let the customer find the problem like they did with the tens of thousands of bad 2.5's in 2020?

Right I think they should have clarified why the hybrids are excluded from the call. Maybe the manufacturing time of the engine is different. I don't know man

@@ArrowGearhead The hybrids were excluded because if the gas engine quits, the hybrid motor can still move the truck off the road. Toyota did a "safety" recall, not a it's a piece of junk and we're going to hope all the engines make it of warranty recall.

Smoke and mirrors. 2024s are now suffering the front main bearing failure. It’s caused by a faulty design ladder frame main bearing assembly.
