great video! I think I will purchase that brass version today :) Also, if you like the look of the polished metal and don't want it to patina, there are jewelry waxes you can buff into the surface to protect them and keep them looking nice so that you don't have to polish them as often!

Ha. I’ve been carrying a chunky copper ballpoint at work for a few years and every time I hand it to someone to use, they can’t believe how heavy it is. Personally, I love it. A heavy pen means the weight of the pen does part of the work for me. Not to mention how warm it is to hold and admire.

I bought a brass Kaweco sketch up clutch pencil and wanted so much for the smell not to bother me as I absolutely love patina. Couldnt do it though and had to return , the smell was too overpowering for me. Other reviews on sites had warned of that but I needed to find out for myself. This was a very informative video. 🙂

I got myself an all-copper Karas Kustoms Ink fountain pen with a broad titanium nib. Though heavy, I absolutely love using it!

I have a Brass Sport (it is a nice pen and I like it), and well, the smell really takes getting used to. So I was close of buying an Ink v2 in Copper, and I quit. beyond that, I have no problem with the weight, patina etc. Thanks for the comparison.

Ordered one of these pens 2 days ago. I wanted a take anywhere fountain pen and i wanted to see how the patina came out on yours. I have a sheaffer prelude i was bringing with me to the office for a while but honestly its a very delicate pen. Plus i wanted something with a screw cap so that if the pen were to leak, it wouldnt be at the expense of my clothes. So here we are, brass pen on the way which will clearly patina beautifully and be a great pen for every day use. Be it at the office, or when im working on building something at home.

Brass and copper are antimicrobial metals and that alone makes them desirable. I have a Kaweco Supra in brass and love it. I've not noticed any smell from it but then again I'm not shoving it up my nose. Its purpose in life is to write with and belongs in my hand.

I’m surprised that most brass/copper pens are so heavy! I found a vintage pen made of brass but it’s extremely lightweight in comparison to the Kaweco Sport. Must’ve been a lucky find!

What an excellent, helpful, complete video and presentation. I love copper and stainless steel, brass not so much. Wish you had included steel here, as well. Aluminum is very nice, too. I have the Kaweco and Karas pens in steel and copper. They are built like battle tanks. And clearly made to last for a lifetime. I also think pens made of these metals also have an antique charm and beauty of their own. Of course, the inevitable patina has much to do with the appeal of all-copper pens to me. Thanks for this review. I’m sure it helped a lot of viewers learn and better understand the properties of these metals, before hastily buying any of these metal pens.

It is 2021 pandemic… I am disappointed you didn’t mention copper and brass kill germs and viruses on contact, which is part of the reason why these metals are expensive use for kitchenware and door handles… and pens.
