My steel sport is my favorite fountain pen, even more than pens that cost 3 times as much. Best investment I have made in a long time

Yes I have four Kaweco Sports and I also had to adjust my nibs on all of them or felt I had to, maybe a lot of people wouldn't have. I also used 12,000 and 14,000 Grit sand or polishing papers to smooth out the writing and I also felt they were all a tiny bit on the dry side so I made them all a little bit wetter also which is of course something you have to be very careful doing!

Currently deciding between these three…this was very helpful. I think I’m going to try the brass one.

Your handwriting is really nice! I have the brass one and also the Steel Sport. The steel one could be something you might like, too. Looks really nice with a very slightly brushed look and is weight wise between the AL and brass.

I love the Brass and AL, they‘re basically indestructible and great as edc pens. If you‘re like me, I throw my Brass in my backpack or jeans pockets. Thanks for the review!

Same. I like the metal clicky sounds and prefer the silver color nibs. I’ve been on a Kaweco Sport kick recently, having previously owned only a Skyline, a Brass, and a now discontinued AC 'champagne' model. I've also had much the same nib experience as you, with only one of 12, I think, arriving without required tines adjustment-most egregiously, the $44 'Premium' nib! Once aligned, though, I do love these wee pens-especially my red Ice Sport (1.1 italic) and its sister red AC Sport (EF). Another first rate video-review…thanks again!

Thanks so much!! That's just sad lol, only one out of twelve working out of the box. I've been considering the premium nib, but it irks me that we have to pay so much more for what should already be standard.

I love how you spoke about the weight of the brass pen, the fact that the weight rest in the curve between your index finger and your thumb, whilst the base feels lighter. Hmmmm, that might convince me to get this pen.
@inkfade42812 жыл бұрын
The weight being distributed like that definitely made it more comfortable for me, somebody who dislikes heavy pens.

The reason I still can't decide on buying either the macchiato or brass is because of the silver finial and steel nib. I prefer gold than silver. Funny how a little variation in color makes a huge difference as a deciding factor in using these pens.

Im having the same problem, LOL I love the mint colour but it really irks me that its in silver and not gold which is what I prefer. You are not alone. 🙂

@@inkfade4281 I bought light lavender. However, it is still on the way. Haven't received the package yet. I also have the copy of sports. All the bronze one in the bronze, copper and silver black colour. But waited a log time to get my first kaweco sports. I have Perkewo. Now looking for clear sports.

Nice video! I just got my first Kaweco -- a white Classic Sport with a Medium nib. Such a smooth writer. I was eyeing the Brass or AL Raw, but I wanted to try a Classic Sport first, just in case. I'm liking this one so far though. Will most probably (or definitely? LOL) get the Brass or Raw later.

Thinking any more about the brass or raw Sport since using your regular Sport these past couple of weeks?

@@inkfade4281 Hah now I'm trying to decide whether to get the Raw or a different color (matte black or the red one). Haha I take so long deciding these things.

@@inkfade4281 Just found myself back to this video while browsing about Kawecos again (I have become a little obsessed, LOL). So I did end up with a Brass Sport with a nice and wet F nib (lucky, I think). I love it. I also ended up getting another plastic one, a demonstrator this time and the F nib is a bit scratchy, lots of feedback. I'm still planning to get the AL Raw next month, and I have a Liliput on the way. The stainless steel Sport is now on my wishlist, too. I think I'm becoming a Kawecophile. :D

Awesome review and beautiful pens! I just got the golden rose Sport AL for my girlfriend. What kind of clip are you using for your Sport AL? I have the regular brass sport and the clip for that one doesn’t work / the AL. Thanks!
@inkfade42812 жыл бұрын
It is their chrome nostalgia clip. That's strange, I've switched these clips between all three models of the pen. Maybe it needs to be loosened or tightened just a bit? One of my clips came very tight and I had to pry it open just a tad to get it to fit over the cap.

Nice video.. Hope you don’t get rid of Al Sport, but add more Kawecos to your collection! I love my Brass Sport ‘Clone’ from Delike 😃 I loved it so much that I ended up buying 2 more pocket pen clones from Delike (one is a clone of Kaweco Lilliput and I don’t know which pen the other one clones ) ! These clones cost 1/10th of their originals, but they’re decent writers with a good finish. I’ve original Kaweco ‘Plastic’ Sport pens too.. Frosted Sport is my favorite and I’ve 3 of them.. My dream is to get an Art Sport in a marble/granite finish ( or at least its clone from Delike 😃) ! I used to hate Kaweco Sport a couple of months ago, but I’ve begun collecting them now ! I too am frustrated with Curidas and it is my least inked pen !

I am torn on my Sports. I have kind of drifted away from them, I don't know why. I love the design but... just not sure lol. I did see a brass clone in Alixepress, with rivets in the cap, and really liked that design! Maybe more than the original, actually. Oh I've seen pictures of the Art ones, they're very lovely!

@@inkfade4281 I’ve just got ‘affordable Kaweco Art Sport’ in the form of “Delike Alpha Rssin” ! It’s gorgeous, good writer and costs much less than the original Art Sport it clones ! With this, I now have clones of Kaweco Brass Sport, Lilliput and Art Sport !

Kaweco is a great pen but they seriously need a larger capacity converter.......

I have four Kaweco Sports, and now they all write well (some better than others). But I did have to fiddle with the nibs on three of them, and every time I get a new Kaweco, I hold my breath wondering if it will write well or not. I don't add clips to mine. They're not needed for a rollstop and I don't use clips. Oddly enough, the Kaweco Sport fits perfectly in my planner loop without needing a clip to hold it in place.
@inkfade42812 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wish their nibs were more consistent. :/ I've been thinking about trying one of their new premium nibs, but part of me is wondering why their normal steel nibs can't just write as well as their fancy new steel nibs. Why do we have to pay so much more for something that should write well already lol? I didn't think I'd want to add a clip to my Macchiato, but just ended up liking the look better. Some of them do look better without clips, though, I think. If I ever got a Steel Sport I'd keep it clipless.

@@inkfade4281 I just got a Sport with a fine nib that is horrid. Tried some tuning and couldn't get it to improve. So frustrating. And yet I have another fine Kaweco nib that writes like a dream. I have watched a few reviews of the premium nib and it sounds like it has a different feel...smoother and wetter. So I'm not sure the intent was just to improve on the regular steel nib, which, as you say, should work well to begin with. Buying a Kaweco feels a bit like playing the lottery, unfortunately.

@@marilyngardner4269 I hear you. I am so wanting to buy this pen, but really…I would be so anxious to open the box and try the nib. Potluck!

@@BeingReal1 I just got another one I had to work on, but it seems to be writing better now...at least with a really lubricated ink. It is a lottery indeed. Sigh.

Looking into getting a Kaweco Sport - I'm completely new to these types of video. What does it mean to tune a nib?
@inkfade42812 жыл бұрын
Tuning a nib would mean making it write more to your taste, whether that be smoothing it or giving it a little more feedback, or maybe opening the tines a bit to make it write wetter.

Thanks for the waring... Because of your video I have decided NOT to buy the Kaweco Brass Sport FP. I especially enjoy the writing test. ... When I saw you can't even write "e" with the hole in it... with an F-nib, I got convinced it is not for me. .... Who would pay that much to get lines that can't be read.
@heliogenesi3 ай бұрын
Obviously you can write very well and readable on these super popular pens. If you have a problem reading it’s about her handwriting, paper, ink and nib size combination. I have an M nibbed sport capable of putting down clear sharp lines on paper as you’d expect from a pen of this caliber.
@MikeG-js1jt2 жыл бұрын
If you like the aluminum and you like the brass you'll definitely like the steel model which I just bought for a steel at $68 which I've never seen it that low before it was always even more costly than the brass so go over to Amazon if you're interested quickly and get it I just bought it 3 days ago at that price.
