Thank you for this reaction. All too often, people focus on the morality of the war in general, and yet they forget these wars are fought by soldiers, soldiers who are often overlooked to focus on whether people AGREE with the war. Whether you agree with the war or not, these people wrote a check to the USA, it’s value up to and including their lives. If for no other reason than that, our warriors deserve our respect.

I'm a 60 yr. old multiple tour combat vet. The hardest thing was each time I would come home and see/hear SOME American whining and crying about absolutely nothing. Having no clue or appreciation of how blessed we are to live here even with all of her faults. No matter where I was in the middle east and I saw Old Glory a part of me would feel at peace. I thank you so much for your open emotion. That means a lot to guys like me.

My great-uncle was KIA (they told his momma "lost at sea") in 1946.....I can't imagine how bad her heart hurt. She spent the remainder of WWII baking goodies that she had packaged in coffee cans and sent them to soldiers still fighting ---- She never mentioned Merlin Jr. or the loss of him. I always think of those who lost their loved ones and those who did make it home, as they too were changed forever. Thank you so much for the Trace video reactions; maybe a few more might come to understand. God bless.

I'd never heard this song before. My heart just flat out hurts! Partly from the pain I feel for the loss of our brave men and women. Partly from pride in our great country protected by those same type of Patriots! If this song doesn't touch a very vital part deep within your very soul, then you must not have one! I too, have no shame when the tears flow. I cry when TAPS are played, when the National Anthem is sung, when I hear God Bless the USA, and many others. For the sheer amount of our service members blood that has been shed over the years, me shedding a few tears is a very small payment for the freedoms that their blood has bought! 🇺🇸❤🙏

In my car, I have 2 red poppies hanging on my rear view mirror. One looks pretty fresh. The other was drenched in rain when I got it. I keep both. I got the ragged looking one 6 or 7 years ago from a black WWII veteran. I keep it to remind myself of that man's courage and service during a time when he was unwelcome in most of the country that he fought for. I keep the less ragged one in honor of my Dad, a white WWII veteran, also a man of courage. When I watched your reaction to this song today, I wanted to share this with you. Thank you for adding your light to my days.

What do you say well I just went up front and paid for mine and theirs. The waitress told them who so they caught me before we left the property and thanked me. I was like your welcome but I could never thank you guys enough. It was an honor to buy your breakfast. Then we all rode off.

Nothing but Admiration and Respect to my Brothers and Sisters in the Military! I use to tell them, when I came in contact with them, my being a police officer for over 20 years (now retired), I wanted them to know, while they were away from home protecting us! I was here at home, protecting their families! Hopefully, in some small way, I tried to make them feel a little better, being away from home. As I knew, they made me feel a little better, knowing they were busy, protecting me and my family. All My Best... To those serving in the Military!!!
