That said, my point regarding Trace Adkins was that during his one-on-one with Bill Maher he spoke of being sober and the reason being that when he drank he became a rather unpleasant person who most people wouldn't want to be around. He got sober which likely means he went through some kind of program. Most programs are AA based on some level. This includes making a searching fearless moral inventory of ourselves examining our defects of character, our shortcomings and how we may have harmed others. It also involves continuing to self-examine and make amends to those who whom we have harmed by our words, attitudes and actions. This is done to keep our conscience clear so that we won't have stuff inside us to feel badly about which may cause us to want to drink. ALL THAT, does NOT comport with Trace Adkins saying I ain't apologizing about anything. In my view, if I bring a guest to my friend's party and he becomes a boorish oaf and clod who offends and insults the people of color at the party, talks crudely about female genitalia, tells the immigrants who were there that they owe their good fortune to him, and otherwise causes conflict and division and then also steals the silverware from their house on his way out, I have something to apologize for. I especially have something to apologize for if I continue to bring this "friend" along to future dinner parties. THIS is what voting for Trump is like!
