I lost my husband October 3, 2014 and I stood by him as he was slowly dying of Silicosis(Black Lung Disease). He was my everything and though he lost his faculties, OUR LOVE STAYED STRONG UNTIL THE VERY END!! I now grieve for him everyday and wish we went together, but I promised him I would stay and watch our grand babies grow and play. He said the night before he died that he wanted to box us all up and take us with him. My heart will never be the same again. 2 days before he passed away he asked me to take him out on our porch, as we got out there he said "Do you hear the doves?" we live on the farm where he was raised and we raised our children. He then sang to me "On the Wings of a Snow White Dove" and it was at that moment I knew he was going to Heaven soon. I so miss my night and shining Armour!! He was too young at 60 yrs old and I was too young at 46 yrs old to become a widow, I truly hate that word. I would rather say I am married, my husband awaits me on the other side. I wear my wedding rings still and his wedding ring size 16, I wear on a gold chain around my neck!! He was to us all :The Man, The Myth, The Legend!! 6'4" and was a gentle giant, never raised his voice at me or a hand, that right there is the definition of a REAL MAN!! I miss you Gary, more than words could ever say, I miss everything about you, your long gray hair and same with your beard, how I loved to brush your hair!!! I miss holding your huge hand in mine and telling you it was ok to let go, to be pain free, for Jesus will heal you as you enter Heaven, but please save a place for me!! I miss you MY LOVE.

I think if everybody in America were more like Trace Adkins, this place would be so much better off .

I saw Trace about 10 years ago in Winchester, Ky right after I had shattered my rt. ankle and was in a wheelchair. My neighbor had to push me through the field to get me to a spot where we could see the concert. It was so worth it!!!! I love it

This song could be written about me. How it tells my life story. It’s a reflection of the journey of youth to maturity. I’m almost 56 and lived a great, crazy , fulfilled life. I was born wide open and lived wide open.....in the words of another artist...well , the lord made me hard to handle! I served my country for 8 years and as a civilian went into disaster areas helping save lives. Single mom, loved to party, raised my kids to live life to the fullest and just to be themselves. Both turned out to be great, productive adults. My health slowed me down,(a result of being in disaster areas and getting sick). So this song really resonates with me. “Yeah, I’m still crazy, but I’m just a little watered down!

I have loved this gentleman's music for many years. I have seen him several times. I have to tell a story about this gentleman. I worked for a trade show company in Nashville. We handled the set up & tear down of several booths, CBS cable, TNN, & CMT. I can't 100% remember the year, but it was around 2000- 2001. Country artists would spend an hour or more at different booths, meeting fans, & signing autographs. This was what was called "Fan Fair" weekend. (Now, after Viacom bought CBS, everything changed.)But, I already recognized him from loving his music. But, after all these years, here stands a man in front of his autograph booth. NOT behind the counter, but out with the folks. Every time, any song by him, I think of that. Was very, very impressed! Never saw any other artist do that!
