I was happy to see the Corrado in one of those races. I know it very well, and didn't expect it to win a track battle. But to see the G60 not even outperform cars with a much worse power to weight ratio in the straights makes me conclude there's something fishy going on here. Either not the best driver, or something wrong with the car. Oh well, you can't have everything I guess.

Look at that volkswagen crap... even with 200cc more and a supercharger it had not a small chance against a 1600cc VTEC... i wish i had a SiR civic back in those times in germany against all those slow "sport cars" like Golf GTI and Kadett GSi... when they thought they were fast :D

Fastest cars in the category at that time were the kadett Gsi 16v and the 309 GTI 16s. The kadett was praised for its engine and the peugeot for having the best combo (engine and handling).

Yeah, before the late 90s European cars were typically slower on track since they often traded handling for ride comfort. I'd love to see a Sierra Cossie or Mondeo ST200 take part in one of these races since those two are properly fast.

We need to spend thrirty years to réalize that japaneses were better cars than european, only rust matters are better on VW cars.

Not add at all, back then Civics weighted the same as a Miata with more power than a Miata. They were not the pigs they are now.

The Honda gearboxes are much better than Mazda's. I drive an '99 NB1 Miata right now. I used to drive a '90 Prelude Si. I have mixed feelings, but one thing I can definitely vouch for are those Honda gear boxes. I also had a '91 Accord with a manual and broken 3rd gear (bought it cheap). Honda transmissions are the best in the game. I DID mention the 3rd gear would grind, but I think that was due to abuse. Honda manual transmissions have the best feel and ratio. It's probably other things, too. The pedal and cylinder assemblies associated with stick-shifts. Honda is easily the best.
