Oleg Kibalko my opinion is the same here too although I'm not the most religious person but my job is nothing but stress most times surely today trying to get home after 4 weeks on the road and this breakdown cost me one extra day sometimes I even can say my job IS stress but if you let the stress work on you you can end up hurting someone emotionally or physically and keeping a calm head is hard at times but nothing ever happens without it's specific reasons but I hate that I love all the stress to make deliveries on time the stress can either break a man or strengthen a man it's all about which side of that you feed determines the ultimate outcome

Lol "You know there are attachments for the tractor if you want to dig holes, right?" :D Thanks Cody for your honesty and for taking time at the end to share of the struggle and how God spoke to your heart in the midst of it. I don't think there are many men alive who don't at least feel like getting frustrated in the middle of challenges like that, and we all need to reminder to be still and trust God for the strength we need to not only get through the situation, but to do it in a loving way to those who are helping us. I've been there many a time myself and truly appreciate this reminder. :) God bless!

You at least had a positive impact on one life today. May God continue to bless you and yours.

I struggle with this as well, and always feel guilty for not being more patient or understanding. I feel ashamed as well after unreasonably lashing out due to what was in my head vs the reality of what is reasonable to accomplish. Being still and waiting for God or for that matter other people has never been something I have been good at, but it is clear that God through Cody is telling not only myself but a lot of others to work on it, struggle with it but ultimately conquer it as anything is possible with God beside us. Thank you all for your honesty and openness, maybe together we will all become better at being still.

Cody, well said about the "be still." It resonated with me. I having a tough stressful weekend as big deadline at work and have had to work every day straight for the past three weeks. I was taking a break and my wife asked me to come outside with the family. I really didn't want to and was grouchy. In fact, had to pause this video to do so. Rather than be grumpy, I gave into the situation and had a beautiful 10 minutes with the family that honestly I won't ever forget. It was a beautiful moment. Be still makes a lot of sense to me right now. Keep up the good work.

The fact that a negative comment on it has risen to the top hurts my heart, but I pray for those people and hope that maybe someday one of them will hear the word of God through your videos. You probably know this, but if you have the bucket on the loader next time, you can use it to walk the tractor out backwards by rotating it fully down, shove it into the ground, then rotate up to shove the tractor back a few feet at a time. Of course no bucket this time around so kudos on doing a great job working together to get it out! Also, I always enjoy the small bits of testimony you add at the end of many of your videos. Sometimes it's encouraging, other time sobering and/or convicting. No doubt you fail in many ways like the rest of us, but you are certainly an encouragement to your brothers in Christ who seek to lead our own families as God intends and calls us to do. Keep it up, Cody!

Well done and well said Cody! I've been there many times myself! It can take a lot to recognize and resist losing your patience when you're up against a stressful situation, whether actual or perceived. It's especially important when working with family; they are undoubtedly doing the same for you and each other. Having worked with machinery, tools, equipment, cars/trucks and mechanical items my whole life...I know what it's like to be completely in synch with a complex machine and its full operation, to know its limits and potential dangers, to anticipate and/or react in a split second to recover, maintain, and progress safely if things begin to go sideways. When you see yourself simultaneously running every position that the team is working, it's easy to become frustrated when someone reacts differently than you would have. Self expectations and personal goals can play havoc with one's patience. You are 100% correct; at the end of the day it does not really matter how much you've accomplished together, if nobody wants to help tomorrow.

Hi Cody, I could tell you were frustrated and struggling to remain calm. My friend, I have been there too. It is usually a situation where you are mad at yourself (say for getting the tractor stuck) and you just feel this urge to lash out, be rude, short or nasty with anyone nearby. At that moment, all you can do is step back, take a deep breath, and calm yourself. I don't know what footage was left on the cutting room floor, but in the footage you used, you were human...fallible...but you kept it together. You mentioned in your video where Jack was building the timber frame for the water tap that it is hard when you are working with others who don't have your skill level (in whatever skill). Things take longer. However, in those situations, it is an opportunity to show others what to do (like teaching Mrs W how to maneuver in mud). The next time, they will be a more experienced helper. And one day, perhaps you will find they are better at it that you. All the best. I hope to see you in Vermont.

Hey Cody, helpful tip is that with a single pulley your just simply redirecting the force, to double as you mentioned, you'd have needed 2 pulleys. Not condescending, or anything of that nature, but just trying to help you out in the future. I'm sure your already aware of this and just mis-spoke, but none the less just passing on some info to help out later! Keep it up, can't wait to see the big things I'm sure you've got planned for the summer!

Spot on Cody on the commentary. Advice is helpful at times and it is wise to consider it. But often much of it is not helpful. You listen because every now and then a golden nugget comes along that just shines on your situation. The golden nugget advice you gave goes for your working crew as well as for family. The best crews are the ones who are not afraid to communicate with each other while disciplining themselves to focus on making what they say helpful instead of distracting. Its a fine line sometimes and it is important to remember it is never good to cause your friends and family to lose face. The work will still be there tomorrow but you have to cherish each other every day. When the team clicks "on" "together" the work will get done with amazing results. If folks will listen you often give that "golden nugget" advice at the end of many of your videos. I really enjoy them, so thank you.

I always appreciate your honesty. The way that I attempt to deal with those same types of frustrations is a mantra from Depak Chopra, "this moment is exactly as it is supposed to be." I would like to say that I am successful at recognizing it more often than I actually am.

It is so hard for us males to admit failure that we often tend to take our frustrations out on the people closest to us. God givs us many ways to deal with these trials, but it is our choice as to which one we chose to employ. Maybe it is age that allows us to remember our previous choices and the consequences they carried. Today I choose the calmer path as I have learned that I am not the one in control. There is a power greater than me that I tend to turn to now when things go bad around me. Me getting out of the way allows His power to take over and achieve the better out come. Keep the videos real Cody, many of us appreciate the personal reflection as it validates and instructs us in our lives.
